Greg Black: I called Yarrow to see about replacing my 8 panel leaded glass cedar front door after a break in. The 3 panels in the lower portion of the door had to be knocked out by Police in order to arrest the intruder inside. I'd called one other company prior to contacting Yarrow and was told my door would have to be replaced but at a very high cost. Over the period of a month I'd been assembling quotes for the door which for some reason kept climbing. When Yarrow came by to assess the damage to the door I was pleasantly surprised that my door could be repaired as the perimeter and the rest of the door was not damaged and at roughly a third the price of my prior quote. They came on Thursday picked up my door and secured the doorway. Then returned the following Wednesday with my door which they repaired with cedar also duplicating all the original moldings. It was rehung and was just like new! The new cedar is lighter in colour of course but with the oil/preservative I've been using will darken with age. The two fellows that were here were very courteous and took extreme care while doing their work. They both admired our wood work which we'd stripped and refinished through out our 100+ year old brick house. I would highly recommend "Yarrow Sash & Door" for any door, window, refinishing, repairing or new construction of doors, windows etc,. If I need anything in the future they will be my first call!Greg.

She quickly went in the back and returned with exactly what I needed and I was on my way. Customer service the way it should be but rarely is anymore!

Mike K: No one else had this! Wrap around multi point hardware on their casement window is very innovative! I deal with several manufactures from BC and Alberta, but none of them have multipoint lock that can latch at the top as well. This extra feature will prevent sash sagging over time, and even greater air and water tightness.

Del M: AWD was referred by close friends. Kelsey set up the estimate and arrived on time the day of. During the walk through he was very informative without the heavy sell. He educated us on the pro’s their windows without bashing others. Within 2 days we rec’d a quote we thought to be fair and reasonable considering we were getting 12 windows replaced including a 5 pane bow. An installation time was scheduled and Kelsey called the week before to re-confirm. Installers Wade & Dale arrived on time, assessed the job and began. Both were friendly, informative and respectful. A 3 day job only took 2. Once completed, the old windows and garbage was removed. We would recommend AWD.

After months of research and taking time to visit each facility, speak to the sales people, see the product, I settled on Duxton Windows and Doors.Here is why -I dealt specifically with Project Manager Conally. From the onset I found him to be very professional, and knowledgeable. He took the initiative to spend the time with me explaining their product. To the smallest detail. I didn't experience this when visiting some of the competitors, yet here I was treated with patience and respect. No question went unanswered, and if Conally didn't have the information, rest be assured I had an email shortly thereafter.I hadn't made a decision as it came down to two companies... Duxton and a competitor. I had another question of the entry door so I made my way down to Duxton to chat with Conally. He wasn't immediately available, so I waited.A fellow walked by me asking if I was someone he knew as I looked familiar to him. I wasn't. The fellow was smartly dressed, and he came from the back offices where the others worked. I jokingly asked if he was the president. Turns out he was. He welcomed me and asked if there was anything he could help me with. I just advised that I was waiting for Conally. We chatted a little more, telling him why I was there. He then asked if I would be interested in a tour of their factory to see how things were done. I was kind of shocked of the offer as I was just a customer off the street and he didn't know me. So, I delightfully accepted as things like this interest me.During the tour what immediately stood out was the reception of all the staff to the president and how they interacted with one another. There was nothing but fist pumps and pleasant banter back and forth... and that was with everyone. We must have interacted with over 150 staff members. Everyone had smiles on their faces and you could just tell the working atmosphere was super positive and diverse. This was such a pleasant experience to walk into and be a part of. I was introduced like I was "one of the family". Again, normally unheard of, as I am just a customer.This atmosphere where everyone enjoyed their working environment is what sold me on Duxton Windows. A happy place is a good place to work, and that was evident. From my experiences, when people are appreciated and respected they will go above and beyond for their employer. On the opposite, if people are subdued, don't feel appreciated or respected... they simply will not put in the effort and the product will suffer.Another point to note was the delivery schedule of my windows. They were initially scheduled to be delivered the last week of July. They were on schedule. Unfortunately, that morning we had a tornado warning in my area and a torrential downpour, so I called Conally to cancel. This was not a problem whatsoever despite the windows being already loaded up that morning and were ready to be delivered. Within hours I received an email and phone call confirming another date early the following week. Weekend comes and we had a tragedy in the family. Emailed Conally and explained my situation. No questions asked. Delivery canceled and another date and time confirmed.The windows and doors arrived on the third re-scheduling, which was this past Tuesday. Glazing scheduled immediately as well.Exceptional customer service!!!I can't say enough about my positive experiences dealing with Duxton Windows and Doors.Amazing product, exceptional customer service, and I was treated like family.Moving forward, I would highly recommend Duxton Windows and Doors. Jonathan Lockhart: Our dining room window cracked due to having a sun film on the window which caused a thermal crack. Got three quotes, with one company telling me that I need to replace the whole thing; another company who measured once and then never called me back, and then finally Jeff at Alder who came by and knew right away what the problem was and did several measurements and gave me some options to choose from like double E and argon gas. I knew right away that this guy was very methodical in his measurement and very professional. Ordered the window, came in actually earlier than expected and the installers took no longer than 30 minutes to take the old one out, and install and set the new window in. I couldn't recommend a better and more efficient company than Alder Glass, where they will recommend what would work best for you without unnecessary costs and additions.

Right from the first call they were informative and helpful and soon had me speaking to Jeff, a knowledgable sales person who visited our home, made valuable suggestions, took precise measurements and was available to answer any questions we had throughout the process - even being present during the installation process for our new windows! Arranging installation was done while taking our needs into consideration and the installers were excellent and a pleasure to work with. As well, I was particularly impressed to hear everyone tell us that Alder was a great place to work and provided great employee support. The end result was an exact interpretation of what we had envisioned. The new door not only updated the shower but updated the entire bathroom for a fraction of the cost of a huge reno. Jim suggested I would be happier if I replaced my patio doors with garden doors and he was right. I love my garden doors. I replaced my patio door, front door, inside garage door, and one window. Installation was done last March and I have not had one issue with my new doors even in this super cold weather. This company in my mind clearly provides a superior product and knowledgeable and experienced installers. I would not hesitate to use this company again to replace any future windows or doors. I would highly recommend them.

I received top notch advice from George Penner regarding types of doors and the reasoning behind the technology of these products. Installation was performed by George’s sons. 1 year has gone by , along with 4 seasons and the doors and window have performed flawlessly ! They are slow to call back but when all the ducks came in a row they were able to install and do the repairs. D Mac: Had to come remeasure windows 4-5 times. Put half down for despot never was told or in writing that it was non-refundable. Heard nothing for months I phone was told later order was missing , then found was told to be installed 3 months later still nothing!!! Never heard nothing from head office!! RIPOFF!!!Update just got a surprise call from Winnipeg that they were coming to install windows after year half or so , they did a actual great job installing. Look really great! So now I up the stars. It’s hard to believe but it’s finally done!! The new owners must want us to help them get business back. I was not charged anything more. So I will recommend if this happens to stay loyal to customers. Thanks
