Bistro on Notre Dame: what do users think?

Brooke MacMillen: Great quality dishes, very unique menu which drew us in, we were informed all ingredients are localJumbalaya was phenomenal, so was the Mac n cheese, and in my opinion waffle and duck feature dish could use a few adjustments. the service we received was very good, one of the best service i’ve had at a restaurant.overall nice setting and nice local restaurant

Leanne Batenchuk: that it was a bit thick and dense so she took the top off and ate it with a fork and knife. I will go back for dinner some day soon.

Angel PG: If you are looking to support a local restaurant, this is the place to go! My friend and I like to try new places to eat and she mentioned this one, the bonus was that it was local. I'm going to start with my only downfall, it is not accessible. It's an older building so there are stairs to get up to the dining area, stairs to get to the washroom downstairs and stairs to get the patio outside. However, it is unique and beautiful inside! The tables are made from barn wood and were done in locally. They had a nice touch to the décor. I loved the jar of pickles on the top shelf that wrapped around part of the restaurant. The wonderful surprise was seeing the patio out back! So warm and inviting, as well as private. The service was wonderful! So friendly and knew the menu very well! You could tell they enjoyed working there and really supported the owner/chef. The menu had wonderful choices but was not overwhelming. The food was delicious and very enjoyable. I highly recommend this gem in our city of Winnipeg!

Kevin Turner: I recently visited BoND and have not stopped talking about it to friends and family since. The gentlemen who served us was warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. While there is no wrong choice on the menu, he helped my date and I pick a perfect meal and drink pairing. The food was outstanding! We both had to sample each others meals because they looked, smelled and tasted amazing. We finished off our dinner with two desserts that were a great mix of savory and sweet. The cherry on top on this incredible culinarily experience was knowing that everything is sourced locally, making it the perfect spot to support! I’ve already made plans to return with a close friend.

Shay: Honestly loved this place! First time going last night and I will be back. The food is delicious and the desserts fantastic! Their special of the evening was the wild flower risotto, either with wild mushrooms or duck, tho i got both. My only disappointment, there wasn't more of it. I also tried the cotton cake with homemade whipped cream, it was the best piece of cake I've had in a long time. The staff were great and Rich was super awesome. We had some great conversation with him and kept the laughs going all evening long. This place is indigenous owned which made my appeal to it that much higher. Can't wait to go back and try their brunch menu! Beautiful Beautiful place!

Rachel Rempel: I have come multiple times since discovering this fabulous place. The Lake and Steak on the dinner menu is perhaps one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had! Service is always fantastic, and the blend of Manitoba into classic comfort foods is done so uniquely and so well! Love coming back every chance I get.

sylvie landry: Went there a few weeks ago. Discovered this place by chance, we came for dessert a late Saturday. We had an event close by and wanted dessert. The waiter was so nice and explained to us the restaurant concept and how everything is local and indigenous own. The desserts were very good, their menu looked amazing, they have a nice small patio also. I had their Japanese cheesecake and I ordered to go home their bread pudding which was also delicious. My friends orders their licorice cake which at first I was like unsure because I dislike licorice but they gave me a bite and I was amaze at the taste. The iced coffee were also very good. The four of us had a great time that evening.

Chelsea Dutkiewich: AMAZING!! I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place is so incredible that I have to! The restaurant is such a vibe, the staff made us feel right at home, and the food I don’t even have words for. It was so delicious that I woke up smiling after dreaming about it this morning. Every part of the dish was an experience on its own. I can’t wait to go back! If it’s not in your area, it’s worth the trip.

Ieza Lichauco: Superb service and amazing food! Loved our experience. Highly recommend!

Oscar's Deli: what do users think?

Kristine Hejna: This place was Oscar's Deli, not calling itself anything else. We had cheese blintzes. Tasty, served with plenty of strawberry jam and sour cream. Two small, neatly folded blintzes for a very reasonable $8.We were there as they opened at 7am. We will go back for a lunch during our stay. Menu and prices looked great.

Tylen Lee: . Everyone else in my group seemed to enjoy their food/drinks as well. Service was top notch; fast and friendly.Vegetarian options: There are a few vegetarian options. From the top of my head, there were cauliflower bites, a burger and a pizza.Parking: Parking was readily available on the side street right beside The Grove. You can also park infront and I would imagine there are other areas as well.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, there’s wheelchair accessibility. Doors are wide enough and there are buttons.

Gerach: that tasted great. Size is a dinner plate, i.e. individual.Just in case you're wondering, there's no Danielle 1.0.

King + Bannatyne: The Sandwich Shop On The Corner: what do users think?

ryan parkinson: On road trips I try to sample local sandwich shops. This one came highly recommended per reviews. Originally wanted to try Hoagie Boyz but they were closed on Monday. I’m glad they were because I would’ve missed out on one of the best places I’ve been to. I couldn’t decide which sandwich to get and I saw them putting the cheese sauce on a sandwich they were making for someone else. Can’t say no to cheese sauce. That turned out to be the Philly sandwich! I was intrigued by the smoked Buffalo chicken so I got both. One for lunch one for later.Exceptional flavour. The bread was so soft and fresh. Unbelievable. A little pricy but you get what you pay for. I opted for their jalapeño Mac n cheese. It was alright. Their coleslaw was outta world. Hella fresh and packed with flavour. When I’m in Winnipeg again I’m definitely stopping by again.

Jordan Ngantian: Sandwiches slap.

Dan Krumholz: Amazing quality sandwiches, just out of this world. My only concern is size, need them to be a little bigger. You can't go wrong going breakfast or lunch.Update 2023... Still a great spot. Updated menu!

Ronnie Mikkelson: . Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious!

Julian Psihogios: I'm leaving this review not having been to the restaurant in town but just grabbing a sandwich at the Winnipeg Folk Fest. The brisket sandwich was a most elevated version of a smoked meat sandwich and it made me wish that every smoked meat sandwich I've ever eaten tasted like this one. I will be back.

rhe: a small but good selection of sandwiches, staff was friendly and food was ready in 3 minutes - a great spot to have lunch

Danny Nguyen: Fantastic food. Everyone who works there is always so likable and they always give outstanding service.

Cole Taylor: COMMON W for King and Ban. Everything is great, especially the jalepeno mac n cheese.Honestly, it’s so good that if they ever take it off the menu I probably would pass away, because it’s that good.10/10“go here” - Tom Brady, probably

Brittany Demers: This is my go-to place for lunch, and they never disappoint. The staff is always super friendly. The sandwiches are amazing and the ingredients are clearly high-quality. The potato salad is absolutely incredible and I could just eat a ton of it. The sandwiches are huge, so I usually get two lunches out of them!

Andrew Rampton: Do yourself a big favour and have lunch here. The food is always top-notch. The staff are friendly and efficient even when it's slammed with a line of folks through the building. Everything on the menu is thoughtful and tasty. The daily specials are always a treat.Shout out to Matt and Jen today for being so friendly!

Dhanya Thomas: Amazing sandwiches! So juicy and saucy all while somehow maintaining the integrity of the bread. Loved it!

Mauricio: A great location to experience handcrafted sandwiches made by a team that is passionate and experienced. Always a bonus that they feature vegan options as well. Highly recommend!

JESSICA: Great staff and great sandwich.Didn’t have their regular sandwich bread avail so they made mine on a Kaiser bun and it was still so so good.Highly recommend the Carolina bbq sandwich. Each sando approx $16, all sides extra.September 2022

Falafel place: what do users think?

Joey Ramsey: Recommended dishes Hash Browns

Everton Bonorino: Delicious food and great people !

R W: “It was okay.” Was the consensus for each of our party for breakfast. I like that it’s local. Potato Pancakes are great as is the house hot sauce.Welcome Service is good but turned mediocre after food arrived. Coffee cups are very small- only got a half-cup refill and they never came back or checked in after food arrived.Eggs and bacon were blackened- presumably from a dirty grill with burned grease. Bacon was very dried out. Almost as if it were precooked and put back on the grill. Falafel Balls were good but are much smaller than their early days.Water tastes odd-like well water. No ice. They don’t give you an itemized receipt-only the total owed at the til.

The Diner's Grill: what do users think?

Brian Peterson: Great Place hidden in industrial area. Food was great and well priced. Has a cool diner vibe. I had breakfast special which was REALLY good!

Robert Jones: This is the epitome of the "greasy spoon" old style restaurant that you see in movies and TV.Incredible atmosphere and attention is paid to the old style placement. Checkered tablecloths, photos on the walls, friendly bickering between kitchen and serving staff. The food is beyond what you'd expect! Every new place I go I try the Reuben, it's my thing. They slammed it out of the park! The entire menu is a win and I take all my clients here for a flashback to the old days.

Michael Shannon: Great service !! Good sense of humour and very good food !

Logan Painter (Logan's LYRICS): Welcoming atmosphere, very polite staff. Very delicious food.I come here once and a while and I have never been dissatisfied with the service or the food. It’s always quick and the lady starts up wonderful conversations. Hours may be shorter than most restaurants you see but it just means you get to enjoy it even more! Their veggie wraps are amazing and the burgers are very fresh. Will definitely keep coming back for more!Parking: It has a few spots in the front. A lot of the people in the business’s next door always walk so you still have quite a few spots even on busy times.Dietary restrictions: They can accommodate for any special needs for food. Like changing the sauces or removing or adding items to the food to make it more enjoyable

ZHI HE: Good burger and good soup

Juneberry: what do users think?

XINYUAN JIANG: ☕️Coconut cream latte is not so sweet but the coffee is so weak.🥞Berry pancake mixed with cream cheese and blueberry jam melted in the mouth !🍎Apple fritters are crunchy and sweet with cinnamon powder just perfect!

Mimi Pech: Highly recommend Juneberry. Great place to grab breakfast/brunch with friends & family. Fresh ingredients, great atmosphere, clean restaurant. The staff and servers were very attentive, polite, and helpful. The food was some of the best we had in a while!! Proportions are sized well, food isn’t oily, filling but light on the tummy, seasoned well, fresh ingredients.

M Miller: Juneberry is a great little place. We sat in a cozy booth, filled with lots of pillows. The server was friendly, and the food came out quick. We had the pancake, potato’s and the classic breakfast. Portions weren’t huge but they were just enough. Everything was really tasty, especially their house made sausage patties. The only thing to say is they have 1 bathroom, which is super inconvenient! Other than that, a great place to frequent!
