Alan Harrington: Closed for the season for renovations.

Cheryl Miller: My husband and I took our 6 year old daughter with us and had an absolutely amazing time!! The staff is absolutely incredible!! We felt like family as soon as we walked in the door. They were highly interactive and helped us learn all about the history of the area!!! My husband was like a big kid all over again!! We will definitely be going back for another visit with our new train family.

Logan Hawkins: Between the tracks, the cars, and the models, the thing that truly makes this place shine is the dedication and work put in by all of the friends of Freeman! Was great to work with the team and excited to see everything they have in store for 23’ and beyond!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Hanna Dane: Visited on Weekday Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended No

Jim T: I visited here yesterday located on the grounds of Dundurn Castle after you checked in for a tour at Dundurn Castle you receive a pass for the museum afterwards. The museum is a self guided tour, you walk around and check out all the displays, and artifacts from Hamilton's history in past Wars. I found alot of the displays to be very informative and well setup. There is some interactive displays. I enjoyed the museum and learned many new things about our past history in Wars. The staff was very polite and accommodating.

The Nealons: Lovely architecture and grounds. Very nice area.

Daina Paina: Great experience. I learned a lot.

Alex Prince: A beautiful spot for Instagram posting. However, belligerent, aggressive, and adversarial campers are known to be in this area. Call 911 if threatened! If confronted, defend yourself by any means necessary; kicking, punching, clawing, biting, grappling, steel toed boots, rat tail comb, and bludgeoning!!!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

Nicole Grant: Great experience here, it’s well kept, and a great historical site to check out with your family!First time attending a wedding ceremony, it was breath taking!

Scott Travers: Beautiful park. We did not go into the museum or gift shop. The grounds around the monument are beautiful. The tower was closed, so we couldn't go inside. A lovely and peaceful park for a pick nick.Visited on Weekday Wait time 30–60 min …

Harini Thakkar: Beautiful structure and such a nice garden aroundVisited on Public holiday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

S. Nagy: We had our wedding here August 12th. Normally, the wedding package would be for the Jackson House only- but we were fortunate enough to have our ceremony up by the monument! Our coordinator Tim worked with us to arrange for a small ceremony at the end of the stone path. His wife KC, who assisted in coordinating, put together a beautiful arch for us. Their team was very prompt with setting up, in spite of precarious weather. It had been storming that morning and they had already set up the Jackson House for our ceremony. In record time, they were able to set up chairs and decorations outside, as well as hooking up the stereo system. As a result, we got the outdoor ceremony we so badly wanted...and some stellar photos! If you're looking for a beautiful and historic site for your wedding, this is your spot. It's also a great place to bring your kids for a family picnic on a weekend...lots of space to run around!Highly recommended.

Gs Hazra: I have not been to the battlefield museum yet but been to the park so many times, always a pleasure to visit, city kept it in a good condition and they have 20% gatherings whenever I went there, its fun to visit, hope I will get to the museum soon, as I always get tired in the park as it is huge and don’t get the chance to explore the museum, I am sure its going to be great like the park is.

Chad Travis: Beautiful spot for a stroll

Peter T: Walked the grounds, free parking, nice pavillion. Alot of stairs to get up to the tower. Lots of interesting historical information to read.Visited on Public holiday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure …

Griffin House National Historic Site: what do users think?

Heritage Ancaster: Very interesting 👌 👍Visited on Weekday Reservation recommended Not sure …

Blue Orchid: This is a wonderful place to visit its so incredible its still standing .it's a great feeling knowing that they moved to Canada and had a safe place to live .

Lana English: I love sharing some of the history of the Griffin House with my friends!

joi joi: Interesting place

Alex Alvarez: Beautifully preserved historical house from colonial times.

Neman Syed: A beautifully preserved and interpreted piece of Ancaster and Hamilton history in the context of early Black life. It will definitely open your eyes to what was happening in Canada at the time. It'll make you think about what today could have been like. It's also incredibly beautiful and peaceful in the surrounding area. A heads-up on the parking: There's a dilapidated hermitage nearby which is $10 to park, payable by credit or debit only. That's your only option unless you have a disabled permit. The grounds are not well-suited to those with mobility issues. The house is not accessible to those requiring a wheelchair. Awkward hours, so plan ahead.

Greg: Recognized as an important Canadian Black History site, the Griffin House is a preserved early 19th century home, set on a hilltop overlooking the beautiful Dundas Valley. Explore the history of Enerals Griffin and other early Black settlers, and learn about the bravery and determination of black men and women who journeyed to freedom in Southern Ontario.

Polina Karasova: Nice an cozy house in the middle of the woods. A lady who is a park employee told us a wonderful story about history of this place.

Annette Sweet: Beautiful

Ken Peters: Wish i good visit inside or overnight here
