Sam Samida: One of the best restaurants in Hamilton period. Very unique menu plus nice selection of drinks. Dave is owner is very inviting and generous. Tried this place more than 20 times over the last few years. Excellent 🥂again and again like to visit this place whenever I have new date or driving by it lol this is one of my favourite restaurants in Hamilton. Every bite, every sip, every oyster, is delicious and is somehow even better than memory each time you eat there.The best restaurant in Hamilton, hands down.
Leona Olney: Hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in the southern Ontario! The food is beyond amazing - all out appetizers were great, especially the duck liver pate. The trout and braised beef were so full of flavour. And the crème brûlée was a lovely light finish to the meal along with great coffee. The service was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is open and welcoming and you can watch you meal being prepared in the kitchen. The cocktail list offers loads of options and they have a really good alcohol free selection as well. Can’t wait to go back!Parking: Across the road- 1 minute walk to restaurant.

Mike Gamache: Am a bit derelict in my posting this but still want to comment.I was in Hamilton for the Canada weekend race at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, and got into town later than I had anticipated.I took a chance that they might still serve me even at 9 pm on a Thursday.To my great surprise and delight, Margherita greeted me and seated me instantly, reassuring me that I could get dinner.I already knew from a previous visit what I wanted, so it was a quick decision.Caesar salad and gnocchi gorgonozola. Both as delicious as I remembered.She suggested a tap beer and it was great.As was her service, and she put up with my corny jokes, too !And when I dared to ask if they had cannoli, she said," We could hardly claim to be an Italian restaurant if we didn't have them ! "We both laughed, that time.I highly recommend this small but fantastic little gem.Thanks, Margherita and crew.

William Patterson: As a small group of family and friends, we came for dinner tonight. We had a wonderful time, great food as always and excellent service. At the table behind us was a small family without a reservation but graciously accomodated by the staff. It appeared that the husband was not able to receive the entre that he selected as it was sold out. He became upset over the matter. Unfortunately the patrons were forced to witness his rude behaviour as he admonished the wait staff, followed by his ushering his embarrassed family out the door leaving drinks behind and without paying his bill. I wish to compliment the staff and of note the head waitress òn her calm demeanor and professional handling of the situation. We look forward to our next visit.

Food and drinks were great. The standouts were the broccoli appetizer and an exceptionally good negroni. Lots of good memories at this place, you will be missed!

Amanda Stewart Reiser: This has been on my list for SO long and I’m happy we finally got to try it. It’s a great spot on Locke in an old building, candlelit ambience and comfy booths. The food was amazing - pretzels, schnitzel and chocolate torte were all delicious. Solid beer selection and cocktail list as well. A little pricey but the meal was fantastic so you truly get what you pay for.
Olivia Adam: My first time coming here for my birthday dinner and I must say, everything about this place is exceptional. If I were put on death row, I would choose their pork belly as my final meal. Our server was lovely, the food was beyond amazing, and the whole atmosphere really tied in the experience. Left my boyfriend and I speechless by the end of our night. Phenomenal.

One of the best chicken schnitzels dinners I have had. My wife had the seared trout and it looked almost too perfect to eat. The drink menu was quite extensive and had a nice selection. Hana Arneil: I recently organized a wedding held at Martello, and I want to express my utmost appreciation for the exceptional service provided at this venue. Gaby was incredibly responsive and accommodating, ensuring that the bride and groom's vision was not only met during the planning phase but also exceeded on the actual event day. The team's close-knit friendships added to the wonderful atmosphere in this already stunning space. As well, our guests left were raving about the delicious food throughout.Whether you're looking for an event venue or thinking of enjoying a meal, I highly suggest experiencing Martello!
Sidhu Family: The staff is friendly and the service is good. Really liked the pizza and the pasta. It's right in the heart of the city! Love the ambience; they have a huge patio with benches in the back and the wood oven pizza is in the indoor dining area which adds to the homely feeling. Burning candles with wax melted over, exposed brick walls is the look they are going for. Food is decently priced; just didn't like that they charge for chili oil as must Italian restaurants I've frequented don't do so. I've been to Italy and I wasn't even charged there. Just a suggestion for the restaurant to consider.
Vanessa Marie: I am writing a review from the end of June when I took my daughter and I here for the first time. We had really excellent service by our younger male server. Loved the cosy vibe inside and our pastas were incredible. Mine was Agnolotti Di Funghi and although delicious, $29 for a bowl of pasta is over the top. We also wanted calamari as an appetizer but they ran out so we got the grilled octopus, all 3 pieces of it, loaded with fingerling potatoes. I was not impressed. But otherwise a very pleasant and enjoyable place to dine and have drinks.
Laura Ricker: This was our first time at this Italian restaurant, tucked away on the vibrant James St N. It came highly recommended by friends and we can see why! Amazing service, good, quality, and attention to detail. The gnocchi was to die for, everyone wanted a bite! The carbonara is also delicious and they make a mean negroni and cappuccino.Would definitely suggest eating here. The atmosphere is great too and they played awesome music. Very hip, but good for all ages. My sister and I are in our 40’s and our mum is in her 80’s and we all loved it. Will definitely be back.

Perry Hudgens: Absolutely impressed my wife and I! It was a crowded evening and we still got our food and drinks in a timely manner! The food was perfect, hands down the flavor combos were on point! And the drinks are way above expectation! The bartender puts an incredible amount of detail into his work and it shows in the flavor! Even made my wife's drinks sugar free which means the world to us both! Highly recommend and will be returning in the future!
Arts Lover: We came on Canada Day as our plans had fallen through due to weather and wanted to try a new restaurant, hence our visit tonight. The food was excellent, much better than I expected. The house salad was really delicious, a unique blend of fruit and veggies, perhaps one of my favourite salads I have tasted. I had the elk burger and truffle fries which were outstanding. The portions were generous. The ambiance is more sports bar than intimate dining which was a bit disappointing but the quality of food and service made up for that. Highly recommend.
Chaos World 60: Tried Boar for the first time here it was fantastic, they also have Elk to try too. Their specials of the day are fantastic. Had a great server too. The only downside to the food was they put spicy sauce on almost everything so if you have low tolerance to spice make sure to ask that they don't put it on. The place was cozy and had comfortable chairs. However, there was no AC. It was incredibly hot in the restaurant, very uncomfortable. Also note the cheesecake is not actually NY style it's more along the lines of Japanese cheesecake.

Morgan W: Stopped here for a quick lunch before heading back to the office and was thrilled with my experience. Prompt and friendly service; fantastic food. Got the grilled chicken sandwich on focaccia with fresh-cut fries -- strongly recommend. Tiramisu for dessert... divine! Almost too big a portion to finish but I persevered. Thomas John Fauteux: This is a real Gem and next door to Theatre Aquarius. Our lunch after our Saturday Matinee was exceptional. My wife's sandwich was large and she brought half home for her lunch the next day. I ask a special request because of a diet I was on and the chefs were able to accommodate me. Staff were friendly and served us extremely well. We will definitely return and not just after theatre.

Brittany Amor: Seasoned Restaurant is just what this city needs! We went for a friends birthday, we had the Autumn Salad, Cavatelli Pasta and my friend had the Osso Buco and we couldn't have been more satisfied with our choices. The flavours and quality were top notch. Our server Kristin was so helpful in pairing the best wines and a tasteful mocktail that complimented my dish. I didn't feel left out as a non-drinker. The Chefs are clearly passionate about their craft and it shows. I can't wait to go back!

David Sfwriter: Update: Coffee was brought cold. As I always say, if you don't complain they can't fix it. She immediately offered to make a fresh pot, and we were both happy.Remember, people who get angry and swear they will never return when they are unsatisfied with something are only hurting themselves because they don't give the restaurant a chance to make something right.Decent food; decent coffee; still don't like the "Chalet" sauce, but many do so that's your call! Clean; un-busy; un-rushed--overall good experience.Wheelchair accessibility: Got in and out with few problems. On the whole pretty good but they was no obvious place to store it once seated at a table. Glad it wasn't busy tonight.

Suzanne Austin: We ordered the prime rib, when we got it we took the first bite & it was extremely salty. We told our waitress Amanda, & she immediately told her manager Cara.We tried to finish it,by putting au jus on it. Near the end of our meal the Manager came over & told us that the meal was on the house. We were totally surprised & pleased..We only had to pay for our drinks. We will definitely be back, best service ever.Dietary restrictions: I told them I had Dairy Allergies they had the manager check my order to make sure there was no dairy

Bruno Di Giovanni: We had a great experience at The Keg last night we just came after 5:00 but they still gave us 5:00 happy hour drinks and my wife felt her steak was a little salty and they comp'd her steak management and the server for us were great throughout the evening we've been there before and will continue going there based on the good food and good service

Josiah Nahwegahbow: . After a discussion, we were able to select drinks made to our tasting. Well done, Lindsey! They were awesome.The atmosphere is a bit more upscale but still casual and down to earth. They have 2 garage doors that open, which let in a lot of light.Well done, see you soon
