Xelf Fitness: what do users think?

Laura Mayo: I went to Xelf with 10/10 chronic pain, and 3 months later my pain has decreased to 2/10. The vibe is accepting, non-judgmental, relaxed and encouraging. Blaise, especially, has extensive experience working with injuries and pain. She tailors the workout to accommodate your body's needs. She listens and works with you on forming goals. She gently pushes you, always being attentive and sensitive to whatever limitations you may have. I am so grateful. Thank you Blaise and thank you Xelf!!

Amina Daimee: , weak back and shoulders, and some ankle pain/ mobility issues. These problems are respectively 10, 13, and 5 years old. I have worked with multiple trainers, massage therapists, physiotherapist, chiropractors, osteopaths, and had acupuncture with very little to no improvement.A friend recommended I see Blaise since this was her area of expertise. I owe that person dinner, cause my experience has been exceptional! I was an avid hiker and had to stop due to the pain. Last month, I was in the UK and walked probably 15-20km a day with no issues- I have not been able to do this in 5 years! Friends and family have commented on my improved posture- I stand taller and apparently look more confident. Even the way I walk has changed. My hips are looser, my toes don't point outwards anymore, and I can't even remember ever walking with my toes pointing straight forward- maybe when I was in my early 20s? I feel stronger, especially in the areas of concern in my upper body. My job requires a lot of use of my arms and requires shoulder stability/mobility. My career puts me at risk of injuries parallel to massage therapists and I had been concerned about my longevity in this field. Thanks to my program with Blaise, I am now able to work an average of 2-3 hours more per day without experiencing tension or pain in my neck and shoulders. That in itself has increased my ability to earn more income. It is only August, so all of my problems are not cured, but we are getting pretty darn close.I highly recommend every single person with a mobility issue, sports injury, any movement limited person to start working with Blaise. You will not regret it.

I had been told, by fit people, that gyms are places of camaraderie and motivation, but I never believed them until I started the foundations program at Xelf. Omar and Damian have made fitness make more sense to me - in addition to creating a space that feels non-judgemental and friendly. I highly recommend booking an info session: these guys are the real deal and they care about people. Not sure what else you can ask for.

Eric Heideman: Damian was great to work with on identifying some “blind spots” I had with movements I’d been frustrated with in my time in gyms over the last 10 years. With Damian’s help- I realized there was still much, much more to learn and improve on. Damian customized a single session for me to work through questions and concerns at my own pace- and openly invited me to check back in after putting some of his advice to work on my own. Xelf is a great and no pressure Gym- trainers support knowledge levels from basic, to intermediate and advanced.

From my first information session to my extremely thorough assessment to today, the Xelf Fitness Foundation Program, Staff and facilities has been the perfect fit for my fitness needs!I am in my mid 50’s and experiencing the aches and pains that come with aging and sitting all day. I knew I needed to move more and increase my strength training but regular gyms overwhelm me with all the people. The Foundation Program’s semi-private sessions are worth every penny! I’m guided and encouraged all the way through my workouts!I was already sold and then I had my assessment with Damian Lockhart. Damian recognized that my many years of sitting had really affected my body physically. He recommended extra sessions before the start of the Foundation Program. Some of you may think ‘money grab’ but I assure you, Damian had my best interest in mind. The extra sessions helped me correct some bad posture problems that would have led to reduced benefits from the Foundation Program. Damian explained his suggestion for the extra sessions in such a way that made sense; I trusted his experience and knowledge and he didn’t let me down. The extra sessions allowed my body to ease into the workouts after years of little to no regular exercise. One month later I started the Foundation Program at an improved fitness level that has allowed my body to get the results of the program that my body needed!The main difference, I believe, between the Xelf Fitness Foundation Program and other gym programs is the semi-private sessions with their educated and passionate instructors! I constantly witness the instructors adjust routines for myself and others based on our bodies specific needs or limitations. It’s this personal attention and adjustments as needed that set Xelf Fitness apart from all the others!

Pat K: There is so much to say about ALP, I don't know where to start. My son who is 13, plays competitive hockey as a goalie and has been going here for the last 3 years. We appreciate the whole body approach. The trainers are fantastic role models. The benefits that we have seen in our boy go far beyond his overall strength and conditioning. He has improved confidence, a better understanding of nutrition, hydration & sleep and how they affect his daily life. There is an overall education that has set him up for a healthy lifestyle. He absolutely loves going here. Its safe to say that out of all the sports and activities he does, this is by far his favorite. He has developed a love of fitness!

Mike and Raquel are a wealth of knowledge around all aspects of physical fitness and wellness. No matter what your fitness level is you'll feel comfortable here. There's not shortage of great equipment and it beats mainstream gyms like Goodlife or Fit4Less. It's personalised and not over crowed. I never have to line up to use a treadmill or piece of equipment. Hopefully that never changes as this really is one of the best kept secrets of downtown Hamilton. I completely LOVE it and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

Melissa Tulloch: I am loving my experience working out at FITT Forge, I was nervous to start because I had very limited experience lifting/ weight training and some experiences at other gyms that where I felt judged and left with lowered my confidence. Zack and the Fitt Forge family are the exact opposite- everyone is helpful and encouraging, the small classes sizes are great and every class feels like everyone is having a good time and hyping each other up.I’ve already seen some changes in my day to day life and I really love being apart of a gym like Forge. Quinn Perrault: The Gym on Fennell is an extremely clean, unique, and intimate gym experience. I cannot emphasize the cleanliness of this gym enough... Between guests required to wear indoor shoes only, everybody wiping equipment after use and staff constantly sweeping / mopping it is by far the cleanest gym I've ever attended. Another huge plus is that even during peak hours the gym never feels crowded or overwhelming at all. They have all the equipment you need to target any muscle you want, as well as offering a yoga / warm up / body weight workout room. The Gym on Fennell also offers some of the best treadmill / stationary bike / rowing machines I’ve come across, with them offering custom renderings of you on a track to make the workout more immersive, or straight 1on1 videos of a trainer motivating you. The changing area and showers are always well kept and tidy. All of the staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable on any fitness / nutrition questions you may have, especially Sean! The hydro massage tables they offer are a game changer after a hard workout. The gym on Fennell is definitely worth a look at, especially if you despise the crowd and ambience of big box store gyms, which I know I do!

Nothing worse than having pebbles burrow into your hands when doing burpees. Burpees are bad enough! All the coaches and staff are very friendly and supportive. They are also very accommodating to injuries and are quick to provide modifications and strengthening exercises and stretches. Now they are offering yoga, I am so excited! If you are looking for a great workout in a safe environment, then this is the place to be.

Crunch Fitness - West Hamilton: what do users think?

Eddie Enriquez: This location is for those people who want to lift. 2 floors of variety of equipment some older equipment but overall well kept and stocked. Depending on when you go it can get pretty busy but the location has a vast parking lot and a friendly staff who are always quite helpful and play good beats. Also located by a rail trail entrance if you want to do outdoor cardio.

Abbie Kok: Love the zumba classes with Maryann!

Mahesh Regmi: Team members are really nice. Gym is spacious and located at a perfect location.

Paul Palmer: Nice clean gym. Lots of equipment to use wait time is minimal.

T. Edward Hoyle: Equipment is ancient and bunch of it out of commission but all good.

Laura Knisley: I’ve been with Fit4Females for 11years now. I was immediately hooked on not just the classes, but the people and the energy that each person brings is contagious.When Covid came along F4F immediately took the initiative to change to online. While this had its initial challenges, Trina and her staff rose to the occasion and kept F4F going and all of us members were able to continue on with our fitness. I know that online wasn’t everyone’s ideal answer and even I was skeptical of online at first too. I came to realize that I could get the same results online as I did in class. Then with the magic of this community members would start coming on before and stay on after class to catch up and check in on one another. Members that couldn’t come to live class because they had moved were able to come back through the beauty of online. We all adapted to our new online classes and found new and inventive ways to do exercises like; ball slams we’re now using pillows aka pillow slams instead of slamballs. Members were able to use household items instead of weights as at home equipment was hard to get during Covid.While I love in person, I can honestly say I love online. I love working out at home and then can continue on my day. Online brought us 615am classes. Online has allowed me to stay on track with my fitness while I’m away or in bad weather I simply walk into my basement and I don’t have to miss class. Trina came up with having playbacks of classes so if you couldn’t make live you could sign on and do a replay. This is another bonus of online as an option as it keeps me on track with my fitness routine during holidays when previously in class was on a scheduled break or if I had to miss a class, I could sign in and pick any class I wanted and stay committed to my fitness.I’m grateful that F4F has stayed with online. If you haven’t tried and you are considering or if you are considering coming back, just do it! Come join us, trust me you won’t regret it!

Jeanette Van wely: I do Fit4Females classes online, because it’s the only way I can stay consistent in my workouts, especially during the summer.I love the convenience of doing my workouts at home, with my kids home for the summer or even during the school year when they are home sick. Plus I don’t have to plan extra time to drive to class.I chose the live workouts, because I like the interaction, correction of my form, the extra accountabilityAn extra bonus to the online workouts is that I can use all the random workout gear I have collected😜

Eleni Hatzis: AMAZING ONLINE WORKOUTS! Trina and her staff are incredibly friendly. They know how to push you to the limit in the best way possible. The LIVE online workouts are led by Trina and her Team Leaders who give instant feedback and just the right amount of encouragement.

Lindsay A.P. Smith: I had my free intro class with Fit4Females this week. After long struggling to find motivation to exercise at home alone, this session was exactly what I needed. The instructor was great is guiding me as a participant through the exercises, also providing modifications for various levels of difficulty. The session felt amazing, flushing old, stagnant energy out of my meridians and inviting in fresh, new and positive vibes. I felt as though buzzing with vitality afterwards, having awoken a previously untapped power within me. I am signing up for the membership tonight and can't wait to tune in again, as well as explore the community within Fit4Females!

Linds West: Looking back I really don’t know why I waited sooo long to join Fit4females! I’ve followed Fit4females for a few years always debating on joining and always scared to try something new. After my first son I tried so many other boot camps and none of them were for me. Now after having my second son I told myself I need to find something and stick to it. Trina and her team are motivating, inspirational and they have are extremely welcoming! Walking into my first class I was extremely nervous and now 6 months later I have no idea what I’d do without these classes and this amazing community! 💪😊

I'm so glad I found this bootcamp and can't wait to show up every week with all of these other amazing women who are sharing this experience with me. I’ve always left with something to think about and encouraged that I am worth doing something for myself. The team leaders at Fit4Females are all educated and never push you or make you feel bad if you are not able to do an exercise, they will give you a modification if you need one. The best part about Fit4Females is that it is all inclusive. It doesn’t matter your size, your ability or your strength you are welcome. I would recommend these classes to anyone!!!
