Because only then was I shown how amazing this dance studio is.Some of these comments are hilarious. Getting mad about paying for pictures or recital tickets - guess what, nothing in life is free and you pay for quality. Every studio charges for recitals unless you are registered with a bundy cheap dance studio that doesn't even teach your child how to dance. And don't want to pay for dance pics - no one forces you too. That's your choice to take a cheap pic with your phone and frame that.The staff are and always have been welcoming 24/7 from day one. Patient, knowledgable and welcoming always. They have made our entire family feel like their extended family since the minute we registered.I am so happy my daughter dances at LA Dance. They continue to inspire her and encourage her to reach her dreams. Any one who honestly has a bad comment or vibe about LA Dance Academy needs to re-evaluate themselves!!! Much love...
Dance: I've seen some of the negative posts and I'm just baffled because my family LOVES this studio! If you click on those who have negatively reviewed it however i'm not surprised as they seem to have a bad review on every place they've ever been to...Anways!... We just finished my daughters photo day and the amazing staff made the day so special and the photo process is very easy and smooth. They never pressure you to buy photos and its so nice to have this as an optional add on because I would never have time to do this on my own! We love that their front desk staff is available at all times to answer our questions and they are always so welcoming. The instructors are also so friendly and are so great with the kids! We've been to a few dance studios and this one is by far the best one!

Gregory Dube: Just a clean, refreshing newly built studio with nice wooden bleacher seating for the parents to watch their dancer. My 5 year old daughter attends mini dance camp and the instructor seems fully capable showing a constant glow that keeps the kids engaged.

Ginette Enns: I had the pleasure of taking the New Adult Fitness Class with Mr. Tyrell and it was ridiculously fun! He was an amazing instructor who made us laugh and made us brave enough to want to push out of our comfort zones so we could harness our inner JLo's!! The facilities were very clean and the staff welcoming and they make you feel extremely comfortable! I definitely recommend this Dance Studio! Sorry folks my bad this review was for Island Lakes!! Although from what I hear this dance studio is the Bomb too so...I stand by this review for Sterling Lyon too!!
Andre Buisse: Great dance school! Have tried a few others but my 3 girls just love it hear. The teaching staff is energetic, friendly and talented. Only thing worth nothing is that the classes can be large, especially the invitationals. Despite that, my girls love it!

I had no idea it was such a top notch dance studio, the recital was amazing!

Natasha Osawa: I love this studio and would highly recommend to ANYONE because they offer such a variety of levels and styles and are so inclusive that anyone could find a class that’s a good fit here! A truly supportive environment which can be hard to find in the dance world. Also one of the few options in the city for adults! If you don’t see the style you want on the schedule, the owner is so responsive requests and feedback. Would highly recommend!

Programs felt like a drop in class and you didn’t learn technique either and I can tell some teachers favour certain students and always pick the same ones for their video.. I understand wanting to make your instagram look good but that’s not very welcoming for the phrase “dance is a community” or “everyone’s welcome” also I hear some teachers gossiping at the front/common area so please be mindful on maintaining your professionalism. Owner can be quite passive/aggressive “If I don’t record you just know I wouldn’t embrass you” c’mon lol!!! Overall, I would still encourage people to try this place there’s just a few tweaks they can work on :

Diane Fulton: At the age of 3, my daughter was a shy child who was very reluctant to try new things. We decided to enroll her in ballet classes at our neighbourhood dance studio. On her very first day at a trial lesson, Ms. Amanda welcomed her and made her feel instantly comfortable. Her calm and pleasant demeanor brightened up the room and instantly developed my daughter's love and passion for dance. Since then, dance has consumed my daughter's life and this was in large part to Ms. Amanda's dedication as a teacher and the creative ways she instructed her dance classes. My daughter still talks about baking a cake and putting on all the toppings when she does her stretching. Four years later, my daughter has joined the competitive dance company at the studio and always has dance on her mind. She actively participates in seven classes a week! Cara Mason: My 4 year old started taking dance classes here in September 2021. We were nervous about her being around other kids since her dad is immunocompromised, and we know not everyone takes COVID precautions as seriously as we do. I was so happy to see that they have a very organized system for keeping everyone safe! They even sent us class recordings since we couldn’t stay in the studio and watch. The recordings only confirmed that this was the perfect studio for us. Their instructors are engaging, knowledgeable, and know just how to work with this age group. Each week that my daughter had “good listening ears” she was given a sticker. It was a really good motivator for our very easily distracted child. Shout out to Ms Kaylah, Ms Emily, and Ms Orielle for being such a delightful addition in our lives!
C J Parrott: got to see Orielle's choreography and students/dancers in a video shoot and was blown away by how good they were. i never truly appreciated how athletic and hard it must be to be a dancer and to come up with moves to fit the song.... it was super impressive.... and the camaraderie among the dancers was cool... goofing around and laughing and supporting each other... sharing ideas... so positive. i think dance would be a fun and healthy way for kids to stay active, build teamwork and provide a lifelong "sport" to stay healthy and live long.... i highly recommend TDM for anything dance related!

Lorraine Swanson: Orielle came back to Winnipeg at the peak of her career to open Winnipeg's newest studio. She is a very well rounded dancer, teacher and choreographer of many styles and a world class specialist of "heels" . The studio is a great space with 2 classrooms, change rooms and a space for the kids to do homework. My daughter is a full-time student else where but she takes drop-in classes at TDM when she can and absolutely loves the staff who make her feel so welcome. This is a great modern studio that cares about Winnipeg's dance community and has already enriched it.

Elizabeth: My daughter participated in their 'Free Dance Summer Kick-Off' event. It was a great way to sample their different dance styles and teachers. My daughter is normally shy in new situations but they were GREAT with her and had her happily participating in no time. She had a blast! Great with kids. Beautiful studio. Kid-friendly teachers. Will likely be signing her up for one of their programs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Cassidy Roberts: When we came to Shirley for our wedding dance, we both had two left feet. My goal was to learn how to sway nicely together, but Shirley had bigger plans for us. Within 1.5 months she had a whole routine for us and it looked FANTASTIC. Not only did our first dance look beautiful and keep guests entertained, the dance lessons gave us an excuse to be together for an hour at a time dancing together which was really special. Shirley was the absolute sweetest and we can’t wait to surprise her with a video of our first dance!

Jeannine Regnier: Shirley’s Dance StudioWe had Shirley teach us how to Fox Trot for our first dance! We are not dancers by any means but she made us look pretty amazing! She made the dance romantic and playful with a couple of crowd pleasing bits, our guests were cheering us on the whole way through! The price is definitely right and it was very therapeutic to go out and dance a couple times a week with your honey. We actually will continue to take dance lessons as a fun date night from now on!
Jennifer Vo: We took private lessons with Shirley in anticipation of our upcoming wedding. We let Shirley know our wedding song and she came up with full choreography for the entire song for us. She was very patient and helped ease our nerves as we had never danced before. She made the whole experience so fun and enjoyable. The location has four separate spaces to dance and lots of parking available. We are so excited with our final product and can't wait to show it off to our family. Thank you so much Shirley for making us look beautiful together for our wedding day!

Heino Grenz: Classes are entertaining, well instructed by Leo and the rest of the crew. It's never a boring evening at this place. I highly recommend this for anyone not sure what to do for date night or in general. Take your coworkers or friends along, you'll have a blast.

Remember to bring indoor shoes to the dance studio when you come for a lesson and be ready to dance your pants off. Respectfully of course.

The instruction is top notch, but my appreciation for TDC goes well beyond excellent instruction.Over the last year and a half TDC has been a safe space when in-person learning has been possible and something our kids have looked forward to every week even when classes shifted online. The efforts made by Kathleen and her instructors to care for kids, to help them find joy in the midst of a pandemic, and to teach them have been nothing short of remarkable.Our kids can’t wait for the 2021/2022 season to start!
