Owen Bradshaw: Our kids have been involved at Theatre Dance Centre for several years now. They have been involved in musical theatre productions and dance classes. The instruction is top notch, but my appreciation for TDC goes well beyond excellent instruction.Over the last year and a half TDC has been a safe space when in-person learning has been possible and something our kids have looked forward to every week even when classes shifted online. The efforts made by Kathleen and her instructors to care for kids, to help them find joy in the midst of a pandemic, and to teach them have been nothing short of remarkable.Our kids can’t wait for the 2021/2022 season to start!

Many years ago I saw Swan Lake performed by the Sadler's Wells Royal Ballet Co. in England, and I was hooked on ballet.The 'Swan Lake' I saw last week was absolutely stunning,- the dancers and the orchestra were wonderful, and the scenery,- just amazing,- the backdrop of the lake, trees and swans was a work of art. Andrew T: Saw a Fringe show yesterday at this theatre. Other than the stair climbing, it was nice. The seats are comfortable and well-spaced, with a clear view of the stage.

Gregory Dube: Just a clean, refreshing newly built studio with nice wooden bleacher seating for the parents to watch their dancer. My 5 year old daughter attends mini dance camp and the instructor seems fully capable showing a constant glow that keeps the kids engaged.

Ginette Enns: I had the pleasure of taking the New Adult Fitness Class with Mr. Tyrell and it was ridiculously fun! He was an amazing instructor who made us laugh and made us brave enough to want to push out of our comfort zones so we could harness our inner JLo's!! The facilities were very clean and the staff welcoming and they make you feel extremely comfortable! I definitely recommend this Dance Studio! Sorry folks my bad this review was for Island Lakes!! Although from what I hear this dance studio is the Bomb too so...I stand by this review for Sterling Lyon too!!
Andre Buisse: Great dance school! Have tried a few others but my 3 girls just love it hear. The teaching staff is energetic, friendly and talented. Only thing worth nothing is that the classes can be large, especially the invitationals. Despite that, my girls love it!

Just attended her year end dance recital which was amazing. The 4 years were cute, however I was truly amazed at the top quality dancers, choreography, and performance all around. I had no idea it was such a top notch dance studio, the recital was amazing!

I have danced at the studio for 23 years, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to dance where achievement is marked by personal growth, creative expression, commitment to the art, and embodying the ethos of Superfun! In addition to quality dance instruction, this studio is known for its body positive environment where all students are celebrated. The diversity of the students ranges from pre-school to a very active adult program. I have never found a studio that feels more like home where I can be vulnerable, take risks with my creativity, and know that I will be valued and respected. Chloe Rose: Both me and my brother have danced here. Ms. Shum is smart, experienced and an outstanding ballet teacher. I highly recommend this studio for dancers of all ages and abilities.
Dana Feal: The teachers at Institute work with each and every student to set them up to succeed. They identify students' strengths and choreograph to fit the individual personalities of the students. The teachers go far beyond the time of the classes to assist with practicing and preparing for competitions. The teachers are great - the expertise of Bernadette and Megan are especially valued and awarding-winning Christabel inspires the students to perform to their best.
Ming-Ka Chan: Our family has been part of this community of dance since 2007. The diversity and creativity has been fabulous; most importantly, the dancers learn, stay fit and have fun. Thanks to all the teachers, choreographers, costume designers for all that you do !

Because only then was I shown how amazing this dance studio is.Some of these comments are hilarious. Getting mad about paying for pictures or recital tickets - guess what, nothing in life is free and you pay for quality. Every studio charges for recitals unless you are registered with a bundy cheap dance studio that doesn't even teach your child how to dance. And don't want to pay for dance pics - no one forces you too. That's your choice to take a cheap pic with your phone and frame that.The staff are and always have been welcoming 24/7 from day one. Patient, knowledgable and welcoming always. They have made our entire family feel like their extended family since the minute we registered.I am so happy my daughter dances at LA Dance. They continue to inspire her and encourage her to reach her dreams. Any one who honestly has a bad comment or vibe about LA Dance Academy needs to re-evaluate themselves!!! Much love...
Dance: I've seen some of the negative posts and I'm just baffled because my family LOVES this studio! If you click on those who have negatively reviewed it however i'm not surprised as they seem to have a bad review on every place they've ever been to...Anways!... We just finished my daughters photo day and the amazing staff made the day so special and the photo process is very easy and smooth. They never pressure you to buy photos and its so nice to have this as an optional add on because I would never have time to do this on my own! We love that their front desk staff is available at all times to answer our questions and they are always so welcoming. The instructors are also so friendly and are so great with the kids! We've been to a few dance studios and this one is by far the best one!

Taylor Ewatski: I am so excited to be returning to Shelley Shearer this fall! This studio is an amazing family oriented community that provides excellent dance instruction to their students. The knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for dance is evident among all faculty members. In my previous years here I have been given the great opportunity to be a part of their Invitational Musical Theatre Program which led me to compete in local dance competitions such as Thunderstruck Dance Canada, Canadian National Dance Championships, and Manitoba Dance Festival. As well as part of their year-end recitals. Dancing in Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, you name it! There are classes for everyone all the way from 2 to Adult! I have made many great memories here, and been taught many valuable life lessons. I can’t wait to return and make many more! I highly recommend!
Dana Kliewer: I took classes at Shelley Shearer when I was younger and my daughter has been here since age 3. They have exceptionally high standards - from the teachers and administrative staff, to the costuming, choreography, and recital. The teachers and experience this year have really inspired a love of dance in my daughter and she is so excited for next year.

J Sevillo: I have been the musical theatre teacher at the school for all the recreational programs and invitational programs for 5 seasons. I am privileged to work with some of the most talented , hard working , enthusiastic and disciplined students. Shelley Shearer cares about the evolution of her class programming to keep up to date with professional industry standards, and protects her staff and teachers to the highest degree. Our classes are based on the principles of respect , committment, dance/performance excellence and overall joy and love of dance. I am so grateful to be working at this studio where I feel respected as a professional musical theatre artist, entrepreneur and teacher. Shelley believes in giving the kids the highest quality training and opportunities while still allowing her staff to grow and nurture their respective crafts . I am so lucky to be sharing my gifts and professional experience to the students at Shelley Shearer School Of Dance and feel immense joy to see my students landing jobs on the professional stage at Rainbowstage and The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. This of course is all possible with the combination of teachers in all dance disciplines who are contributing to the students overall training in dance, vocal and acting technique and performance .
Jay N: The staff there are very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with the kids. They make classes fun and enjoyable all while learning dance. Our family looks forward every year to the big recital which is a great experience for everyone. Top notch studio.
Kendra Palles: Shelley Shearer School of Dance has been my dance home since I was 3 years old. I have loved learning and growing under the care and guidance of their wonderful teachers! Dancing here is a wonderful experience! I have been able to travel and compete as a Pre Professional Company Dancer in Canada and the U.S. with SSSOD. The training that I have received has been incredible!
Jean Berg: and is now taking jazz and intro to ballet. I have been so impressed with the level of instruction and the amount of support, encouragement, and attention the little ballerinas receive! The classes are well organized with many different engaging activities and my daughter, although very shy, has really loved the classes and looks forward to them every week.
Daniel Paspaporn: Absolutely the best dance school in the city. Shelley, the staff and administration put so much time and thought into every class, student and detail and it shows in the school experience.
