4worldlovers: Mountain Lanes has been a landmark since 1947 and contiues to make an impression on the city and its occupants. These lanes were established in 1947 on the corner of Concession Street and Upper Wentworth in Hamilton. Over the years individuals from all walks of life have visited our establishment and have continued to return afterwards. Many have returned to coach, bowl or even returned to work at this business. Generations of families have come back to introduce their children to the fun and enjoyment of bowling that they themselves experienced as children. As distinguished members of the Bowling Proprietors Association of Canada (B.P.A.C.), we are able to offer all of our services to you such as open play or various tournaments.

Mountain Lanes continues to have regular ties with its surrounding communities in more ways than just its presence as a business. We are proud supporters of the Special Olympics, housing about one hundred athletes on a weekly basis on Saturday mornings for fun and for tournament play. For a number of years now we have been raising funds to help support the Kids Help Phone achieving profits in the thousands for this worthy cause. Also a good supporter of Neighbor to Neighbor, we donate numerous boxes of canned goods given by our generous bowlers during our Christmas food drives. In the community we are prominently seen as supporters with the Concession Street family and sponsor numerous children's sports teams as well.

Within the business itself we house more than 20 programs ranging in ages from 4 up to the golden years. From children's programs right up to senior's programs, they run just about all day every day for anyone to enjoy. Our Youth Bowling Council (Y.B.C.) has been involved with Mountain Lanes since it's opening. It operates on Saturday mornings and takes children from the age of 4 up to 18 and provides them with professional coaches, at no charge, while playing for fun and competing at local, provincial and national levels. Adult programs run every day and night of the week with mixed, men's and ladies available at numerous times convenient for all. Seniors, although welcome at all times, also have the option of many programs that operate daily throughout the week. As an added bonus to the good times that our program bowlers experience they also can bowl at any time in our house for only $1 per game, bringing many back time and time again to brush up on their skills and to improve their game.

As a social function, outside of our programs, we also offer many engagements for the occasional bowler to come and experience the fun. We now have state of the art computerized scoring from QUBICA that features complete animation for all to enjoy during regular program play and open play as well as special effects for birthday parties. Our amazing glow in the dark lighting has been making children's parties a hit for all ages since we introduced it a number of years ago, resulting in many repeat visits. For work parties and just general social gatherings, the rock and bowl continues to thrive as well.

University Lanes offers leagues for all ages, including our very popular Youth Bowling program.
