Nelson River Construction was formed in Winnipeg and operated its business between Montreal, Toronto and Winnipeg in the early years. In the 1940’s the company moved to 101 Dawson Road, in Winnipeg Manitoba where it repurposed the site of an old homestead, with multiple buildings, to become our Main Office, Repair and Maintenance Facility and storage yard for our growing fleet of equipment. Today, our head office has relocated to 730 Taylor Avenue in Winnipeg while our Repair and Maintenance Facility and Storage Yard remains at 101 Dawson Road.
Incorporated in 1923 to build sewer and water facilities, Nelson River soon expanded into concrete and asphalt paving. As our reputation grew, so did our company. Now in 2023 and in our 4th generation of ownership, NRC has hit an amazing milestone of 100 years in business. Our longevity and success is due principally to the incredibly talented people who have worked in the Nelson River organization over this timeframe.
With 100 years in business and delivering on thousands of heavy construction projects, we have seen and done-it all. Our highly experienced workforce consistently delivers projects to the unique standards our Clients have come to know and expect.

In the most recent project the crew that came out to work were friendly and respectful to both my wife and our dog, who were home throughout the experience. The work was done in a timely manner and within the quote they had outlined. I would also like to thank the office staff who did an amazing job at trying to fit our project into their schedule even with the several unexpected issues that occured. I would definitely recommend Belvidere to anyone who is looking for foundation work.

Their quote was by far the most organized and detailed of all that I received and their communication throughout was swift and encouraging. I was concerned that I would have to play a part in the project management side of things, but Belvidere dealt with all of the many details on their end so I could just sit back without worry. It was painless. The crew were professional and worked incredibly hard. They completed the job sooner than I had anticipated and left my yard in immaculate condition so that it was like they were never there. This was a really big job and I'm kind of stunned at just how smoothly everything went. Highly recommended.
Nicole Sidley: We had a big foundation job to get done which consisted of getting 11 piles put in and doing a lift on our house. The entire process took around three and a half weeks. Everyone was very professional and knowledgeable in their job. The crew continuously worked hard, were very polite and did an amazing job of cleaning up every evening before they left. If you have any foundation repairs that need to be done I highly recommend this company. Great job done from start to finish. Excellent work

Marcel Fortier: Very happy with Belvidere Construction. From the advice to the assessment to the actual repair work, found this company's staff to be knowledgeable, honest, and professional.From first contact they recommended that I get an independent survey from an engineer who specializes in foundation repairs; I contacted Belvidere again to discuss repair options after I had the survey done.Due to house leaning excessively, I chose to pay extra to have it leveled. They were specific in the contract that could not promise a full leveling; this is due to avoiding any structural damage during the lift. In the end they managed to raise corner of house enough that list is barely noticeable now. Large bow window was especially vulnerable to damage; no issues during or after lift.Two sides of foundation had to be excavated and underpinned to accomplish the lift. Work was done without damaging the house and with little impact on the yard.Working to my engineer's satisfaction, plies were sunk in correct numbers and to correct depth. Waterproofing done has lifetime warranty and is fully transferable.Final cost was same as initial quote. Although I got cheaper quote from a competitor, wasn't happy with other because they were less thorough is assessment, didn't want to do a lift, and didn't even recommend an engineering survey. They stated that only 1 side of foundation needed to be underpinned; I'd rather put my faith in engineer's assessment.

Throughout the renovation, Dale was regularly on site at key junctures in the project and as a result was able to provide direction or resolve any issues identified by the the on-site staff and trades. Kurt Brown: We used CDC to completely remodel our unfinished basement. Dale came out to provide an obligation free estimate and spent about 45 minutes with me discussing how he could bring my vision to reality. Other contractors were in and out in 10 minutes and didn't care to discuss my vision in such depth. I knew from this that CDC would be my choice.The project extended just a bit beyond the original time line, but Dale's attention to detail was unmatched. There were no budgetary surprises and the entire CDC crew and subcontractors were all considerate and great to work with. I had talked to several contractors prior to hiring CDC and I have no doubt that I made the right choice. The renovation was done in budget and on time in spite of the work being done in the middle of a pandemic. I asked for a couple changes to the original quote and this was easily accommodated.Jason and Dale were both very responsive and answered any questions I had quickly and regularly came by to check on the progress of my basement.I can’t say enough about Creative Design’s crew. Erica Chandler: Jason and his team did a major Home renovation for us last summer. Working with this team was a breath of fresh air. I’ve used a few other contractors for past renovations, and working with Creative Design Contractors was by far a better experience in every way.
