Canadian Fighting Center Winnipeg KickBoxing Muay Thai Boxing BJJ MMA Gym: what do users think?

Cameron Belair: Awesome environment, advanced students are very patient with beginners, highly recommend!

William Barnsdale: I’ve had a pleasant experience at CFC, all the coaches are very helpful and take the time to help progress you’re MMA skills. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn self defence or be competitive in MMA.

Payten Attridge: Had the chance to train a few days at this gym while I was in town. Hands down on of the BEST environments to train at. Everyone was so encouraging and incredibly welcoming . The coaches have great experience and are really informative if you need help. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get into the sport, trust me you’ll be hooked.

Eric Ciesielski: Great machines, free weights, and a friendly atmosphere. Lots of accessories for workouts including kettle bells, battle ropes, medicine balls, and padded platforms for deadlifts. The owner is also quite pleasant. Nothing but good news here.

Nicolas Escudero: If you like MMA, Boxing, Bjj, Kickboxing, Muay Thai or just want to know how to defend your self THIS IS THE PLACE, the instructor is very professional, has a lot of experience and helps you when you need it, the people in the classes are very friendly in general.I joined one month ago for the kickboxing and boxing classes and I have seen a great improvement in my skills and knowledge, classes are fun and easy to catch up with.I have been in other academy’s and this one is definitely one of the best. If you put the time and effort you will love the academy and martial art that your training. You won’t regret it.Keep up the good work!

Tyson Prychun: 10/10 recommend this location to anyone thats interested in getting involved no matter how experienced. As a greenie, I instantly felt accepted.Amazing atmosphere with amazing people, all willing to go out of there way to teach you the right way of doing things.0 judgement, seriously hard working group of people, amazing time.Highly recommend 💪🏻 Nuff saidKeep up the good work boys

James Delos Reyes: Oh man, 10 stars out of 5 if I can.Enrolling in this place has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was scared when I first walked into CFC, but after speaking to Coach Giuseppe, and trying out a class, I wanted to keep going. It's only been three weeks, and I still have a LONG way to go, but I can't stress enough how great of a feeling it is when stepping onto the mat to learn from Coach G and to train with the other members. When in there, outside worries/problems are not of my concern, no ego involved, I'm there to train. Great feeling. This gym is awesome. Awesome coach, awesome instruction, top-notch equipment. My cardio still needs work but I'm super excited to join the Muay Thai class one day.

Akash Singh: Amazing staff, amazing students. The facilities are great as well and I love coming here.

Shaun: I joined CFC in January of 2022 as I had some general interest in boxing and they had overwhelmingly positive reviews. I was a bit intimidated joining a fighting gym, but Giuseppe and the entire class have been extremely welcoming. The gym is in great shape, and is kept clean. The atmosphere is incredible, and very welcoming to newcomers. The training has pushed me and I look forward to getting better every week. Highly recommended.

Quinn Cormack: and extremely multi-dimensional martial artist that is well educated in various styles of fighting, you couldn't learn from a better teacher.

Rubilobster AKA Gary: My 8 year old joined the Center last September. Knew nobody there and is now self-motivated to be there 6 days a week despite no real prior interest in combat arts. Just started off as a curiosity and it has become the highlight of their day. They have become less anxious in life and are a lot more confident. General athleticism and agility has improved considerably as well. Occasionally I catch them shadow boxing at home, they've become very slippery when wrestling with me, and it's fun watching them do tumbles/rolls and splits with their younger sibling in gymnastics.Youth classes have a great mix of demographics in their most active core students. Coach G, Coach L, and the assistant coaches are excellent with student engagement which says a lot in the age of streaming services. When our youngest turns 8, they're totally joining their older sibling for at least 6 months.

Narinder Singh: Best mixed Martial arts gym in the Town

Simon Little: Daughter loves going to this gym and learning from Coach G and Coach Lance on Saturdays with jiu-jitsu,her attitude at home is much better as it's a great way to relieve stress and learn discipline. Top notch facility!!!

Nicholas Genaille: I would highly recommend this gym to anyone who practices martial arts, the coaches are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and the environment is awesome lots of friendly people around and by far one of the best gyms I’ve been to

justin skubovius: For the real deal on mma gyms this it for conditioning and coaching nothing better. In 1 month ive lost 15 lbs.

C Peteson: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat coaches, clean and nice facility, affordable prices and a great environment. 100% recommend

Innovative Martial Arts & Fitness: what do users think?

Jepoi David: , piñata breaking

Stephi Rae: We just celebrated my daughters birthday here and it was SO MUCH FUN. I did absolutely nothing but bring a cake and my debit card, and it was the best party my kid has ever had so far. The instructor who was there to teach and entertain the kids was phenomenal. I didnt catch his name but honestly, he had the patience of a saint with some of the lesser socially skilled kids. If I could give this place a higher rating I would, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high paced exciting birthday for their kid.

Gina Denby: Our daughter had her 6th birthday party here and it was, by far, the best experience for the kids and as a parent. They took care of absolutely everything; all we had to do was send invites and bring a cake. Andrew and Lindsay were so engaging with the kids, kept everyone's attention, and made everyone laugh. We had kids from 3-11yrs old in attendance and they all participated and had equal amounts of fun. They made our daughter feel very special and even sent her home with her own sword with her name on it. The pinjata was so full that every child was able to take home a fantastic goodie bag and everyone left full, happy and tuckered out. It was perfect.

Phong D: The instructors are very friendly and interacts very well with the children they are teaching. They are able to recall the children’s names with the amount of people attending.

M C: My boys love Innovative Martial Arts. They joined before covid and were happy to be able to come back to in-person classes. Instructors are engaging & great skills are learned!

Forest Wang: Very good place for kids to start their jujutsu journey.

Gbenga Sokunbi: Innovative martial art have an encouraging program I Foladara love to go for classes everyday

Denise D: Andrew, Lindsay and their coaching staff are great! My son has been attending since September and still loves going.

Glenn Sopiwnyk: Instructors are great with the students. . Having drop in classes is great to pick and choose when to attend.

Mar Manimtim: The staff at innovative martial arts should be called the child whisperer. There're amazing with the kids in the class, they're fun, approachable and firm when they need to be without scaring the children. My daughter Landon is excited for every class.

Jen Younger: We had our daughters birthday party there and they were amazing! Her and her friends had so much fun. The party flew by they were having so much fun. She also attended at party and it was just as fun.My son attends classes and it has really helped his confidence. Highly recommend.

Christine Moquin: Our son enjoys Jiu Jitsu at I.M.A. and the instructors are amazing with the kids there. We have seen our son grow with confidence and strength within the last year attending IMA 3-6 days a week. Happy clients here.

Jessica Wells: This class has been the best experience for the kids, they absolutely love it. The coaches are very patient with the kids and the kids really enjoy it.

Tyler Horsman: Fantastic coaches. All students regardless of age are treated with dignity and respect.

ThomasB: The instructor Andrew and rest of staff are great with the kids. My son attends class 6 days a week. Highly recommend.

Conner Claudine: I go here for a class about 4 times a week and I love it. The classes have a balance between fun and learning because the people around you normally don't judge. I've also been getting stronger by each class. 10 out of 10. Would recommend

Jackie Culley: Andrew and Lindsay hosted the greatest birthday party for our daughter EVER. They really went above and beyond with decorating, set up, hosting, entertaining and especially fun. Lindsay is a wonderful artist and used her talents to personalize the party for our daughter. It was incredibly special. Thank you again for your kindness. 10/10, would recommend. 👍

WAMMA NextGen (Winnipeg Academy of Mixed Martial Arts) - Kids' Martial Arts: what do users think?

Jenn CD: Welcoming and positive environment. Instructors are well respected and continuously motivate my boys each class. Extremely pleased with Wamma.

Scott Witherspoon: Top notch coaching and a great training environment for all levels from beginner to elite. They offer the opportunities to take the sport and competition as far as the athlete desires.

Dominick Blais: Nothing but good things to say about Curtis and the quality of the partners there.

Blaine Bennett: Friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Flexible schedule offering ideal opportunities to train all the disciplines of MMA or only grappling/jiu-jitsu if you wish. Instructors that have decades of experience and knowledge at the highest level of the sport.

Ahmed Al Noor: Extremely supportive, welcoming environment to train safely & receive instruction from top-class instructors, regardless of an individual's age, skill, or goals regarding martial arts. 10/10

Shreeraj Patel: over 2 years ago. They had trained tae-kwando for over 5 years obtaining their blackbelts - they started to lose interest and asked for a change. Dom’s Brazilian Jiu-jitsu program was about to start and we’ve never looked back. The boys have smiles on their faces - while learning a new martial arts discipline. Dom has been integral in building their passion for the art form - enough so where they have competed in about 4 tournaments to date

Tom Hacking: Best gym and coachs in the city if your looking to compete. My son always is looking forward to the next class!

Fabi Guti: Excelent instructors!

Brady: Whatever class you choose to take the instructors really take the time to make sure you're learning. The group of people that attend are all friendly and welcoming. Fantastic environment to get into some form of MMA

Sir Lascivious: Went to this gym for the first time trying my hand at MMA and self defence. Had a lot of fun. The instructors are super helpful and they go out of their way to help you get better! Would definitely recommend!

Chito-ryu Karate: what do users think?

Meyer Lapkin: Nice dojo at a community centre. Small adult class so there’s a lot of individualized instruction. The kids class looks like they’re always having fun but learning techniques as well. Great Sensei.

Dana Vickar: My daughter loves this class! She’s learning a lot and it’s fun at the same time

veronica bateman: Super friendly , very patient and thorough. Explains everything clearly while teaching and always makes time for anyone that has questions.

Derek Poplawski: Sensei Alex does a great job instructing individuals of all ages. He strikes a great balance of stressing the respect, discipline and fundamentals of Chito-ryu Karate, while ensuring everyone is included and enjoying themselves. A great option for anyone of any age or experience level that is looking to learn a new discipline, sharpen their skills/coordination/flexibility, gain confidence, or get moving!

Alana B: My 3 year old son is enrolled in the Little Ninja class and looks forward to going every week. Sensei Alex keeps the kids engaged by including fun games. I'm glad my son is learning self control, discipline and respect at such a young age and look forward to watching him progress.

nen caf: Our boys are learning so much and they look forward to their karate class every week! It’s amazing to see their progress. Sensei Alex has a great connection with his students. He’s friendly, approachable, professional and fun!

Sandra Fink: Sense is really attuned with the kids and takes the time to explain everything and pay attention to them. I like that the homework is about helping at home and the kids can learn they are part of the family

alastair clarke: Our 11 son is taking karate and loves it. The teacher is great with the kids, mixing up different activities while maintaining the Japanese principles. He looks forward to going every week!

adam wuziuk: Alex and Adam do an excellent job of teaching & inspiring you to keep pushing yourself. Was extremely happy to find a chito-ryu dojo after many years of searching. I'd recommend this style of karate to anyone interested in the traditional style of Japanese martial arts. Low student to instructor ratio means alot of attention to your progress, and a family atmosphere.

James O'Meara: It has been over 6 years since my eldest child joined and his desire to attend has never been stronger. Sensei Alex teaches the kids control, composure, discipline and respect for others in a safe engaging environment and does so by mixing exercise with fun. I would highly recommend bringing you or family members along for a trial, you may even stay and have found yourself a new interest and some new friends on top.

Terry Land: Highly recommend, very patient with kids. Excellent teachers lessons with fun and discipline can't get any better! Terry Land

Andrea O'Meara: I would highly recommend this class - My 5 year old loves going and is growing in confidence and ability each week. The instructors ,Alex and Adam, have created a wonderful class, blending the teaching of karate with fun, that is guaranteed to keep all ages engaged.

Elyssa Mendoza: My experience with this club has been nothing but amazing. I highly recommend this class for weight loss, self defense and self discipline. And they offer the best tournament opportunities in the province.

Kelsey Genik: Awesome experience. My son adores these instructors. They are patient and understand how to deal with strong willed kids and turn them into great students!

Westdale Community Centre: My son was in this class at Roblin Park. He absolutely loved it! The instructors are great with the kids. My son came out with a greater confidence and self awareness. I would highly recommend this team to anyone!

Jeremy sharp: I would like to start off by thanking Sensei Alex and Sensei Adam for all they have done for my son and I. When I released from the Military as a Paramedic, I knew that being active was something that I had to take into my own hands. The balance between structure and health was something my son and I both needed in our lives. I had studied the same style of Chito-Ryu Karate in my younger years. Remembering the sense of accomplishment that came along with my earlier studies I knew it was just what we needed. Until now I was unable to find a Karate club that focused on the Chito-Ryu style here in Winnipeg. I wanted my son to have an outlet where he could learn to control both his emotions and body in a safe environment. Sensei Alex and Sensei Adam are so kind and patient working with everyone that it has really turned out to be a win win with everyone working together.Building confidence. Learning and developing a lifestyle. Working towards a common goal and seeing the rewards of your effort turn into reality as you graduate through the belt system. Myself needing the exercise and having the ability to go at my own speed made a world of difference. To anyone of all ages, fitness levels, no matter who you are, if you feel like getting out once a week for some exercise, strengthening your mind and body and becoming a member of an ever growing clublead by two of the nicest professional people I can think of, I would highly recommend stopping buy for a free class. Check it out you wont regret it. We did and and now my son asks me everyday "Is it Karate day Dad?" "Always", I say.Thank you

J&S Taplin: Very friendly class and very helpful instructors

Luzviminda Mediana: Mr. Banares set such an amazing example for all of the Elite TKD members. He keeps it light and fun while the kids/not so kids learn self control, discipline and respect. Bringing my child to Elite TKD has been the best thing I have done as a parent. Highly recommended!

Mike Chudy: Everything about the school is awesome. The master is very positive, encouraging and supporting. The rest of the students are very positive and they support each other from age 4 to 54. Every time I leave class I feel uplifted. We needed a group that would help build confidence, a sense of security and strength.Master Banares and the black belts are very supportive and great instructors. In less then 2 months they have helped build confidence and a willingness to participate which my son had lost. In less then 2 months my son was physically and mentally prepared to participate in the 10th Annual Teakwondo Invitational at the U of M. He did very well and even brought home a silver metal. He is proud of himself and says that its a testament to Master Banares and the black belts for teaching him so much so quickly.Thank you Master Banares, the black belts, students and family's at Elite TDK

Lino Hermano: Before I joined, I was physically weak but after I enrolled for only a little over than a month and a half, my strength has come back progressively. Thank you so much Master J. Plum Blossom Martial Arts Academy: what do users think?

Daniel Tassia: Great Place, my son has grown so much on Kung Fu. The masters are the best!

Leonid Ustinski: Excellent instructors, very patient with beginners and very respectful to every level .

Derek Iwasiuk: Class sizes aren't too big, friendly and experienced instructors. I can train with my son in the same class. Great for meeting new people!

Amy G: I take a women's self defense course here and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to feel better equipped to defend themselves. It's a really supportive atmosphere and the moves they teach you feel like they would be very practical. Definitely check them out!

Quyen Le: It's a amazing place for your kids. The teachers are kind, devoted and supported.

Vlad Vassilchenko: Good place to keep your kids busy with something really useful. Lazy adults will have place to seat.

Katrina Zhou: Enjoy the women defence classes .

Daniel Flores Tapia: and I noticed an almost immediate change for the better in their attention spams, academic performance and overall discipline. During my first year I lost around 6-8 pounds and got into probably the best shape of my life

Laurie P: I have been going to Plum Blossom to learn Tai Chi for a little over one and a half years. Having retired from a 25 year career in law enforcement with numerous physical limitations and chronic medical conditions, including psoriatic arthritis and PTSD, I joined Plum Blossom to take Tai Chi at the recommendation of several of my doctors and therapists. Not knowing what to expect, I can happily say that joining the Plum Blossom family and learning Tai Chi was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life.I had always been an active person, but for medical reasons I had to change my exercise and fitness routines and my overall mindset as to how I could continue being fit and active and improve my overall mental and physical health. Tai Chi has been challenging, enjoyable, more physically demanding than I anticipated and exactly what I was looking for and needed. Learning Tai Chi at Plum Blossom has helped me with relaxation, stress management, fitness and muscle retention, balance, coordination, flexibility, being mindful and my ability to focus / concentrate. The instructors at Plum Blossom are excellent. They are very knowledgeable, supportive, caring, committed, attentive and patient. The facility is clean and comfortable with sufficient room to accommodate tai chi students of different levels. The instructors provide a motivating and respectful environment in which to train and learn. Tai Chi is a lifelong learning pursuit and it's something I can practice at home or when traveling and with no need for specialized equipment.I had always wanted to learn a martial art, but didn't have the time nor had I discovered a discipline that fit my health needs. That is, until I found this gem of a place. Plum Blossom has opened my eyes to the martial art of Tai Chi and given me more than I could have ever hoped for. I feel fortunate to have come across such a wonderful place and such wonderful people.

Aikido Of Winnipeg Martial Arts Dojo: what do users think?

Leith Grenkow: Very traditional and respectful dojo. I very much enjoyed my visit. Personally I do not see Aikido as being a useful art though. I opted for boxing and BJJ*update based on owners response*In no way am I looking to "bash bozos in the ring" sir. I'm sorry to have offended you. My comments are based from the mindset of self defense. I just don't see Aikido as being "useful" in that sense. Again. Sorry if I offended. I do hope my review helps others to evaluate their reasons for learning a martial art!

Cassie Chatwin: I spent two and a half years training with aikido of Winnipeg and was devastated to leave when I moved away from Winnipeg. This is a traditional iwama style school that covers all aspects of aikido not just the self defense part. I will be forever grateful to Doug sensei and the other senior students for introducing me to aikido and patiently teaching me over those two years. I haven't found another dojo with a similar energy yet.

Robert Ross Parker: I had the chance to train at Aikido of Winnipeg while visiting the city for work. It’s a welcoming and friendly community and a great opportunity to practice with serious senior akidoka. I wish I could have spent more time on their mat. Thank you very much!

Nicole Dorville: . This all adds up to an exceptional and finely-tuned learning experience if you keep an open mind and heart. Also, regular training with wooden swords, sticks and daggers is pretty cool. :D

Ralph Dueck: For the last decade I have been a member of the Aikido of Winnipeg community. The instructors are skilled and knowledgeable, and it is a fun and challenging training atmosphere.

Jamie Oliviero: I have been a member of this dojo for over twelve years now. As a long time student of Aikido I can honestly say that this is the warmest, most supportive dojo community that I have ever been a part of . Our senseis Doug Reichert and his wife Leanne are strong, committed leaders, and experienced and encouraging teachers.

Leanne Reichert: A traditional dojo in every way. The atmosphere, training and friendship are all genuine. Having started my training in Japan, this is the closest I have come to being there.

Dragon's Den Mixed Martial Arts: what do users think?

Chill Cloud: Not only that but Coach Alex conditions you very well and my old coach didn't even condition me at all.

Jarrod Therrien: This is truly a life changing environment, for both your physical and mental health. You get what you put in, train hard and you will reap the rewards. Everyone is friendly and very helpful.

Rafael Santos: Taking classes here has been life changing for me, my wife and my two children. We all take classes and look forward to the challenge, fun and personal growth that come from putting in the work. Coach Alex has perfected the balance of pushing us to be our best while giving us a lot of guidance with the skills taught in class. I couldn't recommend this enough.

Shawn Traverse: I have been a student at the Den for almost 7yrs, started off as a hobby and fell in love with martial arts. The Den is a great place to learn mixed martial arts *kick boxing, jujitsu, wrestling, strength/cardio training, weapons defense, and more*. Great friendly environment *No Bullying or Intimidation* people of all ages and skill levels, so if if you wanna get in shape, loose weight, hobby, train/become a fighter, whatever your interest or goal is? You get what you put in to your commitment or heart you have!As for *RICHARD McCrae* review/commentI had the privilege in helping "trying" to teach your child and at his age physically/mentally he is not ready! As from one parent to another your child lacks the attention spand, been coddled all his life with no discipline. This is not his fault it's yours as a parent! Your parenting skills is a result of generation *Snow Flake*

Adam Slobodian: Both of my kids started going to Dragon’s Den this summer and they love it. Alex is a really patient and knowledgeable instructor and has taught them a lot over these past 6 months. I have noticed that they both seem more confident and the smile that comes to their faces when the techniques they have been drilling start working consistently makes me proud of what they have accomplished in such a short period of time.I would recommend anyone who is thinking about putting their kids into martial arts to give Dragon’s Den a try. The pricing is very reasonable, Alex and Regyn are both approachable if you have any questions or concerns. It’s a very family friendly and welcoming environment.

Richard Mayes: .

sagar vanik: Amazing place to know yourself n get stronger and stronger.. amazing people and awesome teacher..

Marcas Creag: Some people have this idea that people that train in mixed martial arts have to be young or bunch of goons wanting find out how tough they are. At the Dragon's Den it is really an endeavour in striving for a change of lifestyle that focuses on living healthy and at the same time, being a scholar of warrior arts. We have members from 6 to over 50 and each one trains for their own personal goals: kids having fun in exercising, to parents wanting their kids to have discipline to men and women wanting to shed some weight to some who wants to compete to others who wants to learn skills for self-protection. Our coach Alex tailors the training according to the group's needs. Having done martial arts for most of my life, I can say that this is the most complete club in the city being able to learn from all fighting ranges with Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, grappling and weapons like sticks and blades. At 52 myself, I still go to better myself and to help with my physical, emotional and mental state. No words can really describe the experience of training in the Den. The best way is to go to the Den and train. Just remember though, Alex will open the door to a different lifestyle and state of mind but each one of us has to go through and do the work.

jardine pulido: A great place for beginners and experienced martial arts enthusiasts alike. Aside from the techniques, drills and lessons that will push an individual's perceived boundaries, Dragon's Den offers a uniquely warm and wholesome environment initiated by its instructors and more senior members. Whether you're looking to get fit, or trying to learn and improve self defense techniques, or just simply searching for a fun activity to do regularly, Dragon's Den is an outstanding choice of a fitness club.

Reza Mos: The best mma, self-defence and friendliest gym to attend to. They focus on each individual goals and help each one of them to achieve it.The kids class, man class to women's class the coach's and members of the team help boost your confidence and motivate you.Highly recommend this mma gym for any advance or beginner's.
