Socius Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: what do users think?

Kyle Stanley: Great gym, great people

Peter James: I did dropins for the 1 week I was in Winnipeg. Friendly place, rolled with lots of people, nice instruction from the black belts. Thanks Socius! Hope to see you again.

Fr. Thomas Sandberg: A great place to train! Coach Mike is a great training partner and an excellent competitor. A great group that puts martial arts and human potential over money.

Robert Anderson: I did a drop in. My very first time in a Gi. Upon entering the gym a few of the regulars went out of their way to introduce themselves to me. I felt welcome right off the bat. Had a chance to roll with some of the other members and chat with them afterwards. Enjoyed every second of my time at the gym!

Jack: The most important thing about this gym that it takes care of its members. Everyone wants to see each other succeed and there are no egos. This makes it a safe place to learn and succeed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.The Gi, 35+ Gi, No Gi, and Wrestling instruction is top notch. The instructors provide modifications to the moves to fit the mobility constraints of its members. Finally, the facility is clean and well-kept and there are two fully enclosed shower stalls to ensure privacy.I highly recommend this gym.

Mr Waffles: This gym is amazing I love this location, the coaches are amazing, the place is amazing, and everything about it is amazing.

Jakob Nowell: I came from Norway and was looking to train at a gym during my 6 month stay in Winnipeg. I tried some different once in town before deciding to continue to train at socious. This is why I picked it:From the very first day I came in, I felt incredibly welcomed by the instructers and trainingpartners. Costumer service is absolutely incredible. Organized and super quick. Flawless app to see updated schedule and booking classes. Sharing Bjj interest outside the matts by following the whatsapp group. Sanatized facilities which they clean after each class. Super big matt. Having 5 blackbelts, numerous color belts setts the level, a few others have. But the best part is the relaxed atmosphere. No extra push ups for being late, no black belt worshipping from the students, no pressure to buy merchandise. Just learning high level jiu jitsu with friends with lots of humor, friendship and fellowship. Thats because of the coaches setting a standard of making it fun; who are extremly passionate about the art and about teaching it. Attention to details, always taking the time to explain and being helpful during and after class.I met so many nice people that I can stay in touch with, and learned so much bjj that I can bring back and share with my local gym in Oslo. Thank you Randal for making this place a welcoming and warm place. I definetly will be coming back whenever I visit. Also, that they have a place for us over 35+ is very much appreciated. Both for the comradery but also for learning how to smash the 20 year old athlets who tries to berimbolo you all the time. Thanks Jeff, Ed and Jason! And for all you beginners, the one on one class with Kevin is a absolut must! A safe place to learn the fundamentals in a slow but detailed way, without the pressure of sparring. Something I tried to come back to once in a while. Thank you Kevin!

tuong tang: Took my first class here. Great coaching, no egos, and awesome people. If you are looking to get started, get back in, or train for your next competition. This is the place to be!!!

riel: came in for a drop in for open mats from another school. super impressed with the facilities, very professional and i watched them sanitize and mop them down afterwards. great group of people, super welcoming and gave me some challenging but chill and constructive rolls. thanks for letting me come roll, i hope to be back soon!

Cole McNabb: Great place to train! Everyone at the gym is so welcoming and kind. Would highly recommend Socius Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to anyone looking to get started.

jonathan davis: Supportive, safe environment with instructors who know a lot about BJJ and how best to teach it. Nice mix of classes based on different levels and goals. The students I've met and rolled with there are welcoming and friendly. Socius has a strong community and a good vibe.

Thiago Minohara: in Sao Paulo-Brazil, since then because of college, work and international work opportunities I’ve been to several different bjj academies in Brazil, US and now Canada so I believe I can review / comment with certain authority about this place.Socius has the best environment among all places I have trained so far, it has the perfect atmosphere to learn and if you are experienced in BJJ then Socius is also a great place for improving your game. They often host seminars for the students with top BJJ competitors and encourage students to exchange knowledge between them and other academies

Frank Vattheuer: Great gym full of great people

Isaiah Cockerill: The atmosphere created at Socius makes it easy for anyone to come and try Jiu-jitsu. Randal and all the coaches take an interest in their students to ensure that they get better. Whether you’re looking to train competitively or try Jiu-jitsu for the first time, this is the gym to go to.

Jordan Stimpson: Excellent gym, great community, fantastic instructors

Harvey C: Awesome facility, knowledgeable instructors, supportive and respectful teammates and most importantly a safe training environment. Various classes and seminars offered which makes learning super fun. See you there 🤙OSS

Balance Jiu Jitsu: what do users think?

Prairie Beauty: We were visiting from out of town and we dropped in for a 6:30am open mat class. We were greeted immediately and felt welcome! Everyone was very kind and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience here!

Coleton: Been going to balance for about 2 months now. The atmosphere is incredible and I felt right at home instantly. Balance is everything that you'd want in a juijitsu community and the instructors are fantastic, and the peers are equally awesome. Every class is a blast and as soon as I leave the mat I'm itching to get back. Highly recommended to anyone looking to get into juijitsu to start the journey at balance.

dylanraz9: I trained here for a few years. Great family owned/operated dojo. Very passionate people who can help people of all skill levels improve or get started in BJJ.

Chris Quigley: I've trained BJJ for almost 20 years and this is where I take my son. Excellent kids coaches, who are all parents - this is important because they celebrate your child's successes but can also emphasize when they're having a bad day. Highly recommended!

brett memauri: You won’t find a place where the coaching team is more invested and passionate about what they do and their students. At balance, you don’t just get great training, you become part of the balance family.

Scotty Johnson: My kids have been training here for years. The kids program at Balance is unbelievable. They have a proven track record of developing champions and their dedication to the sport of BJJ is amazing. In addition to live classes they also have a YouTube channel to help students learn even more about the sport which really comes in handy if you are new to BJJ. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.

Brent Kubish: What a great place to learn and get a great work out in for beginners to advanced skill levels. Matt, Marcia and the members couldn't be more welcoming. Broad range of class times with online availability and variety makes getting to classes convenient. Classes are well structured, and coaches are friendly and attentive to your individual skill level, helping out where needed. Definitely recommend!

Bailey Harper: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality

Jacques Arbez: I'm a complete beginner, but Balance is awesome. Matt and Marcia are every welcoming, professional and knowledgeable.Everyone who goes here is encouraging, that's the kind of atmosphere they foster here.Only been to a handful of classes, but I have a great time and I already see improvement. Very easy to follow with amazing instructors and tons of fun. Thank you!

carey Sinclair: Best place to train andd learn....

Josh Figler: This is an awesome club. Great atmosphere lot atmosphere, Professor Matt, and Assistant coaches Marcia and Logan are great instructors. This club also adapted quickly to the COVID-19 situation a d takes great care on the safety of their students.

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Winnipeg: what do users think?

A G: If you are looking for jiu jitsu school where the atmosphere is positive & structured in which you can learn and actually see yourself improving, then this is the school. Mike, Jason, George, and Kyle are all dedicated and experienced professionals. Who are all very approachable and personable in the teaching of jiu jitsu, in a safe and controlled environment. The school is very clean, organized and has a welcoming environment, which you can see by the smiles on the students faces. This school has students from all ages including children 3-4 years old all the way to students in their fifties. I highly recommend this school!Alan

Glenn Miller: My name is Glenn. I have been doing martial arts since 18. I am now 60.I have been asked to give a review of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.There are the many types of martial arts. Striking and kicking, throws, etc. There is Jiu-Jitsu..And then there is Gracie Jiu-Jitsu..Gracie Jiu-Jitsu has raised the bar.For the adults, instead of showing you a bunch of techniques and then not seeing them for months, they changed the game completely. They did some research and found the most used techniques and distilled the hundreds down to 36. Those 36 are then bundled into a 23 day cycle. This allows the people to rapidly learn the techniques. These are the core techniques that you will use first. The children classes are leaps and bounds above every other school I have been too. They have classes that start as early as three. This class is a one-on-one with the parent and the child, while being instructed by the teacher. The instructor talks to the kids. They educate the children not only in self-defense, but in life skills as well. They are taught through games. They are encouraged too work with other children to help with social skills. The one thing I like is that the parents are included in their children’s education. They have a bully-proof program. The techniques here are the same that the adults will use, but in a more simplified form. It’s a game changer for the children. They use the Talk, Tell, and Tackle format. Fighting is the last thing they do.They also have a Women empowered program. It a woman’s self-defense class modeled from the adults class but specifically oriented for the women. I think it’s better than the adults.I have tried many schools and this is the only one I have stayed with. I have been there for ten years now. Still having fun.I highly recommend it. If a sixty year old can do it Any one can.

Nick Lewis: This program is set up perfectly to ensure students have created a solid foundational understanding of self defence before they experience live fight simulations. Beyond the hands on techniques the program touches on the importance of energy conservation and distance management in the event one has to defend themselves. The instructors who teach the program are all very knowledgeable and treat the students like peers. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming to new students and friends will be made quickly.

Jt Torres: Been training with these guys for the last 6 years and they are just amazing! Mike the instructor is a great teacher, the curriculum is hands down the best, and the way it's taught is broken down where they make sure you'd learn it! A great jiujitsu and self defence gym! You guys should give it a try soon!!

Lo B: I have enjoyed every class so far, and started up with their free 10 calendar day trail, for the Women Empowerment Class. I’m hooked! There are physical and mental aspects I really appreciate about the class and I look forwards to trying combative classes! Highly recommend going and trying, especially if you have already been thinking about it for some time.

Brett “B” Cowan: Passionate and knowledgeable instructors. Excellent instruction. Great for beginners to advanced students and lots of fun.

sssiggy sssiggy: I have been a member for a few years. The environment is very friendly and welcoming. Instruction is great. Instructors are knowledgeable and helpful. Members are all friendly. Jiu Jitsu can be intimidating but they make it comfortable to get started.

Keith Friesen: Fantastic Club! The atmosphere and patience from the instructors is 10/10. I would recommend this training facility to anyone who is considering trying Jiu Jitsu. They are extremely patient and do an excellent job of ensuring everyone's safety.

Melissa Atkins: All around a great place. Highly recommend. Taking the women's empowerment with my daughter. Love it. Clean studio. Other members are kind, skilled and encouraging for us newbies. Administration is on point. And the level of integrity in the teaching is top notch.

Robert Petty: Son had fun!Awesome place

Charlie Pelowski: Great program! Michael is a great instructor and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is the best martial arts program for self defense. Love these classes!

Josh Clemmer: Amazing program! If you want to train in a safe and structured environment, this is the school for you!

Artūrs Kozlovskis: Fantastic Jiu-Jitsu training center! Lots of mat space, great instructors, helpful training partners and amazing curriculum. The best place for beginners to learn the most efficient self defense!

Sammie Reynolds: If you're thinking about enrolling your child in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, I highly advise you to do it. As a youngster who completed the bullyproof program and progressed to the Master Cycle program, earning my blue belt along the way, I can attest that it's one of the best places for a child to develop confidence while studying self-defence in a fun setting with amazing instructors and students to help you along the way.

Mike Stewart: Amazing instruction, clean facility and great instructors!

Daniel Philippe: The kids program is amazing! We've been driving across the city for this and its been well worth it

denis fugel: Amazing place, incredable people

Tyson Prychun: 10/10 recommend this location to anyone thats interested in getting involved no matter how experienced. As a greenie, I instantly felt accepted.Amazing atmosphere with amazing people, all willing to go out of there way to teach you the right way of doing things.0 judgement, seriously hard working group of people, amazing time.Highly recommend 💪🏻 Nuff saidKeep up the good work boys

James Delos Reyes: Oh man, 10 stars out of 5 if I can.Enrolling in this place has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was scared when I first walked into CFC, but after speaking to Coach Giuseppe, and trying out a class, I wanted to keep going. It's only been three weeks, and I still have a LONG way to go, but I can't stress enough how great of a feeling it is when stepping onto the mat to learn from Coach G and to train with the other members. When in there, outside worries/problems are not of my concern, no ego involved, I'm there to train. Great feeling. This gym is awesome. Awesome coach, awesome instruction, top-notch equipment. My cardio still needs work but I'm super excited to join the Muay Thai class one day.

Akash Singh: Amazing staff, amazing students. The facilities are great as well and I love coming here.

Shaun: I joined CFC in January of 2022 as I had some general interest in boxing and they had overwhelmingly positive reviews. I was a bit intimidated joining a fighting gym, but Giuseppe and the entire class have been extremely welcoming. The gym is in great shape, and is kept clean. The atmosphere is incredible, and very welcoming to newcomers. The training has pushed me and I look forward to getting better every week. Highly recommended.

Quinn Cormack: and extremely multi-dimensional martial artist that is well educated in various styles of fighting, you couldn't learn from a better teacher.

Rubilobster AKA Gary: My 8 year old joined the Center last September. Knew nobody there and is now self-motivated to be there 6 days a week despite no real prior interest in combat arts. Just started off as a curiosity and it has become the highlight of their day. They have become less anxious in life and are a lot more confident. General athleticism and agility has improved considerably as well. Occasionally I catch them shadow boxing at home, they've become very slippery when wrestling with me, and it's fun watching them do tumbles/rolls and splits with their younger sibling in gymnastics.Youth classes have a great mix of demographics in their most active core students. Coach G, Coach L, and the assistant coaches are excellent with student engagement which says a lot in the age of streaming services. When our youngest turns 8, they're totally joining their older sibling for at least 6 months.

Narinder Singh: Best mixed Martial arts gym in the Town

Simon Little: Daughter loves going to this gym and learning from Coach G and Coach Lance on Saturdays with jiu-jitsu,her attitude at home is much better as it's a great way to relieve stress and learn discipline. Top notch facility!!!

C Peteson: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueGreat coaches, clean and nice facility, affordable prices and a great environment. 100% recommend

Jepoi David: , piñata breaking

Stephi Rae: We just celebrated my daughters birthday here and it was SO MUCH FUN. I did absolutely nothing but bring a cake and my debit card, and it was the best party my kid has ever had so far. The instructor who was there to teach and entertain the kids was phenomenal. I didnt catch his name but honestly, he had the patience of a saint with some of the lesser socially skilled kids. If I could give this place a higher rating I would, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high paced exciting birthday for their kid.

Gina Denby: Our daughter had her 6th birthday party here and it was, by far, the best experience for the kids and as a parent. They took care of absolutely everything; all we had to do was send invites and bring a cake. Andrew and Lindsay were so engaging with the kids, kept everyone's attention, and made everyone laugh. We had kids from 3-11yrs old in attendance and they all participated and had equal amounts of fun. They made our daughter feel very special and even sent her home with her own sword with her name on it. The pinjata was so full that every child was able to take home a fantastic goodie bag and everyone left full, happy and tuckered out. It was perfect.

Phong D: The instructors are very friendly and interacts very well with the children they are teaching. They are able to recall the children’s names with the amount of people attending.

M C: My boys love Innovative Martial Arts. They joined before covid and were happy to be able to come back to in-person classes. Instructors are engaging & great skills are learned!

Forest Wang: Very good place for kids to start their jujutsu journey.

Gbenga Sokunbi: Innovative martial art have an encouraging program I Foladara love to go for classes everyday

Denise D: Andrew, Lindsay and their coaching staff are great! My son has been attending since September and still loves going.

Glenn Sopiwnyk: Instructors are great with the students. . Having drop in classes is great to pick and choose when to attend.

Mar Manimtim: The staff at innovative martial arts should be called the child whisperer. There're amazing with the kids in the class, they're fun, approachable and firm when they need to be without scaring the children. My daughter Landon is excited for every class.

Jen Younger: We had our daughters birthday party there and they were amazing! Her and her friends had so much fun. The party flew by they were having so much fun. She also attended at party and it was just as fun.My son attends classes and it has really helped his confidence. Highly recommend.

Christine Moquin: Our son enjoys Jiu Jitsu at I.M.A. and the instructors are amazing with the kids there. We have seen our son grow with confidence and strength within the last year attending IMA 3-6 days a week. Happy clients here.

Jessica Wells: This class has been the best experience for the kids, they absolutely love it. The coaches are very patient with the kids and the kids really enjoy it.

Tyler Horsman: Fantastic coaches. All students regardless of age are treated with dignity and respect.

ThomasB: The instructor Andrew and rest of staff are great with the kids. My son attends class 6 days a week. Highly recommend.

Conner Claudine: I go here for a class about 4 times a week and I love it. The classes have a balance between fun and learning because the people around you normally don't judge. I've also been getting stronger by each class. 10 out of 10. Would recommend

Jackie Culley: Andrew and Lindsay hosted the greatest birthday party for our daughter EVER. They really went above and beyond with decorating, set up, hosting, entertaining and especially fun. Lindsay is a wonderful artist and used her talents to personalize the party for our daughter. It was incredibly special. Thank you again for your kindness. 10/10, would recommend. 👍

Dragon's Den Mixed Martial Arts: what do users think?

Chill Cloud: Not only that but Coach Alex conditions you very well and my old coach didn't even condition me at all.

Jarrod Therrien: This is truly a life changing environment, for both your physical and mental health. You get what you put in, train hard and you will reap the rewards. Everyone is friendly and very helpful.

Rafael Santos: Taking classes here has been life changing for me, my wife and my two children. We all take classes and look forward to the challenge, fun and personal growth that come from putting in the work. Coach Alex has perfected the balance of pushing us to be our best while giving us a lot of guidance with the skills taught in class. I couldn't recommend this enough.

Shawn Traverse: I have been a student at the Den for almost 7yrs, started off as a hobby and fell in love with martial arts. The Den is a great place to learn mixed martial arts *kick boxing, jujitsu, wrestling, strength/cardio training, weapons defense, and more*. Great friendly environment *No Bullying or Intimidation* people of all ages and skill levels, so if if you wanna get in shape, loose weight, hobby, train/become a fighter, whatever your interest or goal is? You get what you put in to your commitment or heart you have!As for *RICHARD McCrae* review/commentI had the privilege in helping "trying" to teach your child and at his age physically/mentally he is not ready! As from one parent to another your child lacks the attention spand, been coddled all his life with no discipline. This is not his fault it's yours as a parent! Your parenting skills is a result of generation *Snow Flake*

Adam Slobodian: Both of my kids started going to Dragon’s Den this summer and they love it. Alex is a really patient and knowledgeable instructor and has taught them a lot over these past 6 months. I have noticed that they both seem more confident and the smile that comes to their faces when the techniques they have been drilling start working consistently makes me proud of what they have accomplished in such a short period of time.I would recommend anyone who is thinking about putting their kids into martial arts to give Dragon’s Den a try. The pricing is very reasonable, Alex and Regyn are both approachable if you have any questions or concerns. It’s a very family friendly and welcoming environment.

Richard Mayes: .

sagar vanik: Amazing place to know yourself n get stronger and stronger.. amazing people and awesome teacher..

Marcas Creag: Some people have this idea that people that train in mixed martial arts have to be young or bunch of goons wanting find out how tough they are. At the Dragon's Den it is really an endeavour in striving for a change of lifestyle that focuses on living healthy and at the same time, being a scholar of warrior arts. We have members from 6 to over 50 and each one trains for their own personal goals: kids having fun in exercising, to parents wanting their kids to have discipline to men and women wanting to shed some weight to some who wants to compete to others who wants to learn skills for self-protection. Our coach Alex tailors the training according to the group's needs. Having done martial arts for most of my life, I can say that this is the most complete club in the city being able to learn from all fighting ranges with Muay Thai, boxing, wrestling, grappling and weapons like sticks and blades. At 52 myself, I still go to better myself and to help with my physical, emotional and mental state. No words can really describe the experience of training in the Den. The best way is to go to the Den and train. Just remember though, Alex will open the door to a different lifestyle and state of mind but each one of us has to go through and do the work.

jardine pulido: A great place for beginners and experienced martial arts enthusiasts alike. Aside from the techniques, drills and lessons that will push an individual's perceived boundaries, Dragon's Den offers a uniquely warm and wholesome environment initiated by its instructors and more senior members. Whether you're looking to get fit, or trying to learn and improve self defense techniques, or just simply searching for a fun activity to do regularly, Dragon's Den is an outstanding choice of a fitness club.

Reza Mos: The best mma, self-defence and friendliest gym to attend to. They focus on each individual goals and help each one of them to achieve it.The kids class, man class to women's class the coach's and members of the team help boost your confidence and motivate you.Highly recommend this mma gym for any advance or beginner's. Don't take my word, come see it foe yourself.

Vien Javier: The Den has an awesome culture, teammates that push each other and a leader that caters to your skill level. It's central, affordable and kid friendly. Joining the Den is a great way to get your confidence up, learn discipline and hard work. I'd recommend it to my family and friends.

Kristian B: The training environment is very welcoming and the conditioning has been amazing. Alex also brings lots of experience and technical expertise to table as a coach. Good place for anyone from beginners to highly experienced athletes.

Randolf Sinsay: Great way to lose weight and get fit. Everybody is helpful and treat you like family. Whether you want to lose weight or learn MMA this is the place to go.

Arvick John Jamora: This the perfect place to study and train MMA at the same time get fit! With an awesome dedicated Coach Alex who create the best training session and make sure to get the most out of his students and pushes us through our limits in a fun way where we enjoy the training. It is a very friendly environment where you will feel welcomed, senior students are very helpful in guiding and motivating beginners. I gained good amount of muscles and stamina just within 3 weeks on the training and counting. It also built my confidence which also have attributed success in my personal career. I would definitely recommend this MMA school to everyone.

Leo Rueda: A great place to learn MMA! Coach Alex is very enthusiastic and very passionate on teaching martial arts. It's just not a business establishment but more of a learning environment. Advanced members also guides new members during the class. They are not strict but they are more encouraging that you can do it. I lost a huge amount of weight within 3 months of training with them.

pedtheobenmarjr: Alex is incredibly generous with his knowledge of things martial and beyond. And, his level of personal investment in his students is even that much more impressive. Lastly, he also is absolutely committed to creating a training Family. So, come check out 'The Den' - you certainly won't regret you did!!!

Aikido Of Winnipeg Martial Arts Dojo: what do users think?

Leith Grenkow: Very traditional and respectful dojo. I very much enjoyed my visit. Personally I do not see Aikido as being a useful art though. I opted for boxing and BJJ*update based on owners response*In no way am I looking to "bash bozos in the ring" sir. I'm sorry to have offended you. My comments are based from the mindset of self defense. I just don't see Aikido as being "useful" in that sense. Again. Sorry if I offended. I do hope my review helps others to evaluate their reasons for learning a martial art!

Cassie Chatwin: I spent two and a half years training with aikido of Winnipeg and was devastated to leave when I moved away from Winnipeg. This is a traditional iwama style school that covers all aspects of aikido not just the self defense part. I will be forever grateful to Doug sensei and the other senior students for introducing me to aikido and patiently teaching me over those two years. I haven't found another dojo with a similar energy yet.

Robert Ross Parker: I had the chance to train at Aikido of Winnipeg while visiting the city for work. It’s a welcoming and friendly community and a great opportunity to practice with serious senior akidoka. I wish I could have spent more time on their mat. Thank you very much!

Nicole Dorville: . This all adds up to an exceptional and finely-tuned learning experience if you keep an open mind and heart. Also, regular training with wooden swords, sticks and daggers is pretty cool. :D

Ralph Dueck: For the last decade I have been a member of the Aikido of Winnipeg community. The instructors are skilled and knowledgeable, and it is a fun and challenging training atmosphere.

Jamie Oliviero: I have been a member of this dojo for over twelve years now. As a long time student of Aikido I can honestly say that this is the warmest, most supportive dojo community that I have ever been a part of . Our senseis Doug Reichert and his wife Leanne are strong, committed leaders, and experienced and encouraging teachers.

Leanne Reichert: A traditional dojo in every way. The atmosphere, training and friendship are all genuine. Having started my training in Japan, this is the closest I have come to being there.

Plum Blossom Martial Arts Academy: what do users think?

Daniel Tassia: Great Place, my son has grown so much on Kung Fu. The masters are the best!

Leonid Ustinski: Excellent instructors, very patient with beginners and very respectful to every level .

Derek Iwasiuk: Class sizes aren't too big, friendly and experienced instructors. I can train with my son in the same class. Great for meeting new people!

Amy G: I take a women's self defense course here and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to feel better equipped to defend themselves. It's a really supportive atmosphere and the moves they teach you feel like they would be very practical. Definitely check them out!

Quyen Le: It's a amazing place for your kids. The teachers are kind, devoted and supported.

Vlad Vassilchenko: Good place to keep your kids busy with something really useful. Lazy adults will have place to seat.

Katrina Zhou: Enjoy the women defence classes .

Daniel Flores Tapia: and I noticed an almost immediate change for the better in their attention spams, academic performance and overall discipline. During my first year I lost around 6-8 pounds and got into probably the best shape of my life

Laurie P: I have been going to Plum Blossom to learn Tai Chi for a little over one and a half years. Having retired from a 25 year career in law enforcement with numerous physical limitations and chronic medical conditions, including psoriatic arthritis and PTSD, I joined Plum Blossom to take Tai Chi at the recommendation of several of my doctors and therapists. Not knowing what to expect, I can happily say that joining the Plum Blossom family and learning Tai Chi was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life.I had always been an active person, but for medical reasons I had to change my exercise and fitness routines and my overall mindset as to how I could continue being fit and active and improve my overall mental and physical health. Tai Chi has been challenging, enjoyable, more physically demanding than I anticipated and exactly what I was looking for and needed. Learning Tai Chi at Plum Blossom has helped me with relaxation, stress management, fitness and muscle retention, balance, coordination, flexibility, being mindful and my ability to focus / concentrate. The instructors at Plum Blossom are excellent. They are very knowledgeable, supportive, caring, committed, attentive and patient. The facility is clean and comfortable with sufficient room to accommodate tai chi students of different levels. The instructors provide a motivating and respectful environment in which to train and learn. Tai Chi is a lifelong learning pursuit and it's something I can practice at home or when traveling and with no need for specialized equipment.I had always wanted to learn a martial art, but didn't have the time nor had I discovered a discipline that fit my health needs. That is, until I found this gem of a place. Plum Blossom has opened my eyes to the martial art of Tai Chi and given me more than I could have ever hoped for. I feel fortunate to have come across such a wonderful place and such wonderful people.

Evolution Martial Arts: what do users think?

Chris Clarke: This was my first martial arts class and found it welcoming of new people, even without previous training. The experience, skill, and personality of Sifu Joel and how he makes classes engaging keeps students of all levels coming back over and over. I've been going for 3 years and always a new challenge. And the connection to Bruce Lee is fascinating.

TheBicycleman79: Best martial arts in Winnipeg hands down. Where do I even start with this review?TL;DR — If you want to learn a martial art from one of the best teachers in the world that you can effectively use in real life physical altercations, Jeet Kune Do is it. This is a combat art, designed around going home to your family, not to the hospital. After researching Bruce Lee by watching all his films, shows and documentaries I curiously searched if JKD was offered in Winnipeg, finding Evolution Martial Arts. I took the trial class and immediately realized I needed to learn Jeet Kune Do. Having been a student for just over one year, I've learned an incredible amount that has increased my confidence, ability to manage stress like a pro, increase professional productivity, ability to defend myself, and develop a higher level of consciousness around movement. Learning JKD has considerably increased my abilities in other sports I participate in and changed how I view the world and problem solve.Sifu Joel is an amazing teacher that really cares about making his students better and is fun to learn from. He's actually one of a handful of people in this world that is a 2nd generation JKD instructor, taught by Jerry Poteet, Bruce Lee's top original student. To have a teacher with his qualifications in Winnipeg is a very unique and rare opportunity for anyone interested in learning martial arts. The school itself has a great positive culture with wonderful students that have a diverse background, from business pros, scientists, pilots, university students, and more. It's not a knuckle-dragger school with an annoying "bro" culture, which is refreshing. If you're looking to level up or make life more interesting, take the free trial class that is offered to experience it first hand to see if this is something for you.

TRP Academy Tae Ryong Park: what do users think?

Cathy Herbster: We just had my son's 7th Birthday party at the Scurfeild location and it was AMAZING! From the moment guests walked in the staff was extremely helpful with getting all 15+ kids and their parents organized and comfortable. I could not believe the help they provided. Seriously the best experience ever . They even had the children line up and wash their hands in ORDERLY fashion before snack and cake . The instructors gained the respect of the kids immediately and made things fun and safe for their time there. Everyone had a huge smiles during their class, and I received SO MANY compliments from parents on their experience. I recommend to anyone looking to book a stress free super fun party. For Girls + Boys!! Cutting the cake with a real sword was one of the MANY hilights for our birthday boy! Memories sure to last a lifetime. Our little guests were 4yr-7ys.

Belle: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThe team at TRP Academy is absolutely amazing. The instructors take the greatest care of their students and the before and after school program for the kids is such a wonderful service!

Maleen Avery: Positive:ProfessionalismJUNIOR HAPKIDO - All the instructors are amazing, funny, and they do an excellent job of pushing the kids to achieve excellence. My daughter has been at TRP for many years now and always looks forward to her lessons. Olympic caliber training- highly recommend!

Craig Emsley: Positive:Professionalism,QualityOur VIP visit was fantastic. We had a warm reception. The manager was friendly and energetic during the demo with my daughter. The manager was also happy to accommodate a break in the middle of the program. Since my daughter has started attending regular classes, she has had nothing but a happy experience.

Olivia Woloshyn: Highly recommend! I went here when I was about 12-14 years old. In my 20 years, I've only been in 2 sports where it felt like something to really commit myself to rather than just something to do after work/school- this was one of those sports! I think perhaps the 10 commandments helped and how the higher level kids were so supportive and inclusive. I was also incredibly self conscious when I went there, being a tween, but not in taekwondo class: the teachers always made me feel like I could go as I wanted as long as I put in the work, which I think is a great outlook to have on life.I'm writing this as I watch Yvette Yong's match in Tokyo. Go Skylar! Go Yvette!

Junko Bailey: Friendly staff, happy vibes

Dave Tucker: This place is Fantastic. The instructors are fantastic. And the way they constantly focus on respect is fantastic. I highly recommend TRP to everyone.

snap2kick: As a former student, Grandmaster Deuk Park and Master Jae Park provided me with the confidence and skills to further advance in my personal and professional life. For a number of years, I trained under them to better understand the traditional elements of Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do.Competing in Black Belt tournaments, training USA law enforcement officers and representing Canada on the Hap Ki Do Demo Team were all dreams come true. Master Jae Park and his academies are true tradition and have earned worldwide respect, which certainly includes mine. Forget the rest of the academies and learn from the best. They truly care about you. Thank you for letting me be a part of your earlier years.
