Butcher cows traded $2-3 higher this week as top cows traded mostly $134-140 range with a few outstanding cows up to $144-145. Good dairy cows were in the $124-131 range. Morning deliveries were $3-4 back. Bulls were at least $2 higher with a couple excellent bulls hitting $171. Demand for feeder cattle is excellent on all classes this week. Good 800 lb yearling steers trade over $3. Good 700 lb heifers were also scratching $3. All time highs are being recognized every week it seems. Prices qouted below reflect current market prices as feeder cattle receipts are too few to give accurate pricing. With fat cattle at all time highs, feed costs being more manageable, scarce populations of cattle and forecasts of a good crop production, the cattle business looks good going foreword.
