Kristine Hejna: This place was Oscar's Deli, not calling itself anything else. We had cheese blintzes. Tasty, served with plenty of strawberry jam and sour cream. Two small, neatly folded blintzes for a very reasonable $8.We were there as they opened at 7am. We will go back for a lunch during our stay. Menu and prices looked great.

Nina Bryk: We ordered sandwiches, fruit, veggies, drinks and dessert for 200 people for my uncle’s funeral and Ira’s exceeding expectations. They catered and provided hosted that were very attentive, constantly refilling the coffee bar and food trays. The food was so tasty and substantial portions. Would highly recommend. Thank you Ira’s!

Kirsten Morris: We had a tray of fancy sandwiches made for a gathering of 20 people. The food was excellent and gobbled up earning many compliments by all our guests. They had an excellent variety and even added the clubhouse sandwich. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. I bake a lot of bread, and theirs was excellent with a very homemade, fresh taste. Wow! Our order came trayed, nicely arranged, with garnish. Save yourself some time, and just book your take-out or catering needs with Ira.Just as a sidenote, make sure you have detailed instructions of how to get in. Really great place, great food and great service.

TERESA GIESBRECHT: Ira's catered all the meals for my father-in-law's funeral this past weekend. They were all packed in individual clamshells for safety and the value was incredible. Many guests told us they were the best meals they had received - the selection of sandwiches, fruits, cheese and dainties was amazing and very fresh. Ira set everything up at the venue and came back later to pick up the coffee urns and drink dispensers. We simply could not have asked for better service or quality and we all highly recommend them.

Jacky Will: Stopped by and tried the beef brisket and smoked Montréal sandwiches. I was warned the brisket would be fatty, but I was not prepared for the meat to be majority fat, which made it hard to eat. The bread was nice and fresh. Nice staff.

Portions are generous!The Club sandwich is made with real, thick cut Turkey, cooked in house.The mama burger, with the smash patty is phenomenal.Fries are home style, excellent on their own, or as the poutine.Bring an empty stomach!

Duane Diehl: Stopped in recently to get a deli sandwich to go. Used to get them over 30 years ago. Hasn't changed much, the meat for the sandwiches is still weighed, and you get a generous amount on your bread, which is fresh. Very good sandwich. There are lots of imported items from Europe, and they have some other meat and sausages.
Frosty: I've been going here since I was a young child & it's a family favourite for sure. They have exceptionally good butchery, as well as house-made deli meats and salads. They have a wide variety of German goods. The thing I like best is the "spiced ham loaf" - a ham deli meat studded with green peppercorns. Thanks for being such a great part of the West End community!
