Teacher Auntie: We recently had King Cole Catering prepare and serve a family style meal at our wedding. From initial conversations with Taylor, the tasting evening, planning details with Cassandra, and our meal prepared and served on location, everything was as easy as you’d hope.Attending the tasting evening was a brilliant option. We got to sample and discover menu items we would not have otherwise tried. The mac and cheese is amazing and the mushroom ravioli was a must have for us!We chose a family style meal to allow guests options without losing seating capacity to set up a buffet. It worked wonderfully for our guests with allergies, as they simply didn’t plate what didn’t suit them. The menu and recipes were varied enough that no special meals or dietary requirements or requests were needed.Served family style, to nearly 130 people, we chose the King Cole Salad, Greek Salad and Caesar Salad. For our meal we had honey roasted carrots, perogies with caramelized onions and sour cream, the mushroom ravioli in garlic cream sauce, smashed new potatoes with roo’s sauce, and the beef brisket with green peppercorn sauce, with horseradish available.Our meal was absolutely delicious! Everything was served as cold or hot as needed. Nothing tepid, lukewarm or soggy. The brisket was so tender you didn’t even need a knife to cut it.Our guests raved about the meal, requested refills at their tables and are still talking about it. We’ve had at minimum 25 guests say it was the best wedding meal they’ve ever eaten. Even our vendor table commented on how good it was. This is high praise considering their frame of reference, eating at many catered events.The staff was polite, professional and well put together. Service was prompt and clean up was smooth and not at all distracting.From the standpoint of the busy couple, we honestly barely knew they were there. A delicious feast appeared at our table, was cleared when appropriate and our guests were happy.Other options such as glassware, extra cutlery, table set up, coffee, tea and late lunch are available, if you so choose. We opted for the social platters for late lunch in the evening. It was a delicious spread of meats, cheeses, pickles, rye bread, crackers, mayo and mustard, along with disposable cutlery, plates and napkins. All guests were well fed with enough leftovers to enjoy later.We will definitely be enjoying King Cole’s catering services again. We are looking forward to tasting some new to us take away options.
