Winnipeg Art Gallery: what do users think?

Anna M: Absolutely love this place, if you're in Winnipeg, don't miss this place.

Carrie Ho: Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No

Rita Toews: The Winnipeg Art Gallery is a must visit in the city. A large permanent collection of art as well as many exhibitions regularly displayed. Make sure to check out the gallery store for interesting items, prints and unique gift ideas!Visited on Weekday Wait time Up to 10 min Reservation recommended Yes …

Rodney: Lovely building architecture. The art exhibits, nicely displayed, covered a few genres but for me the most enjoyable were the stone carved figures column in the entry but most importantly was the Inuit section. The artistry and craftsmanship represented in the creations was just simply beautiful. A real gem. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the young lady in the cafe.

Patricia nyota: Reservation recommended Not sure

Dariusz Michno: Foot operated hand sanitizers are not very wheelchair friendly.

jen friesen: WAG has awesome fun classes for Kids at affordable prices. My daughter really enjoys clay class and mixed media.

Lily Guenther: Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure

James Lund: Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Not sure

Michael Lyle: Stunning inuit art exhibit going on right now. Permanent exhibits are such a treat. Love the old paintings from the 15-1600s.Plan for about 4 hours to breeze through everything.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

Dominique Smith: Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes

Natalie Marion: Always a great visit. Loved the delicious food being served out of their coffeeshop.

Mia Balansag: I recently visited the museum gallery with my kids on a free Sunday, and it was truly an amazing experience. The grand entrance of the "Color Therapy" exhibit was both inviting and vibrant, with its seamless blending of white space and a mishmash of captivating colors. It was heartening to see a dedicated area for kids to create their own art, adding a wonderful touch of interactivity. However, my personal highlight was undoubtedly the section featuring Victorian, realism, and classic portraits. These portraits eloquently painted a rich tapestry of history, and I found myself engrossed in reading the backstories that accompanied each piece. The depth and attention to detail in these artworks were truly impressive.Another captivating exhibit was the indigenous art display, which provided a poignant lens into the truth and reconciliation of past hurts. It was an eye-opening experience, and I felt a deep sense of connection to the stories told through the art. Spending time in this section left me feeling enlightened and more aware of the struggles and resilience of indigenous communities. The museum also offered a haven for relaxation and unwinding. I could easily spend an entire afternoon there, away from the constant buzz of technology, feeling refreshed and calm. One of the highlights for my kids was the scavenger hunt for indigenous art pieces, which added an element of excitement and engagement for them.My only wish is that there were more interactive activities like the scavenger hunt. These activities would undoubtedly enhance the overall experience for both children and adults, making the museum visit even more immersive and memorable. All in all, our visit to the museum gallery was an enriching and enjoyable experience. From the captivating color therapy exhibit to the thought-provoking Victorian portraits and the eye-opening indigenous art display, the museum provided a well-rounded and engaging journey through art and history. It's a place that both educates and inspires, making it a must-visit for families seeking a blend of culture, history, and creativity.

Grace: It's been a bliss working with Elise. I had my first ever pottery last Monday and I don't think I will ever stop. I can't wait to grow my creativity this year. What better way to begin with pottery!

James Pflueger: Wonderful eclectic gallery

francine martin: There's always something well worth seeing at The Edge. It is an important art space in the city's core.

Shannon B: Best place for local art, pottery lessons or to try your hand at ceramics. Great community space full of wonderful people.

Kira: The Edge is such a great place! They provide supports and opportunities for artists, and frequently have local work for sale as well.

robert kudajczyk: Great place fantastic event amazing art on display

Kaitlynn Alarie: Took a 9 week intro pottery class this winter with instructor Bernard. Classes were once a week for three hours. Instructor was amazing - very approachable, patient, helpful, and knowledgable. Small class size, intimate learning setting. The building is fun, has attached gallery spaces, and is well equipped for all things ceramic including kilns. We were able to hand build and use the pottery wheels, fire, and glaze our pieces to take home. Class fees included materials. I would really recommend taking a class here. There are a few different instructors and classes on most week day evenings.

Michael Johnson: A lovely little gallery in the heart of St. Boniface

G. Joseph Joseph Ahissou: A beautiful architecture that is one of the characteristic features of the Saint Boniface district!

Katie Rimmer: Cute sculptures. The ghost is creepy at night haha but I kinda like that.

Rejean Beauchamp: A visit worth the detour. We took an outside tour of this place to admire the excellent work of these French-speaking artists. We have some photos to share with you. We recommend the visit. We were there on September 9, 2017 at the end of the afternoon.Review written on February 26, 2022 in Salaberry de Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada.

Daniel Roscoe: Almost with a sense of chamber music, they would provide a pleasant atmosphere to any setting. It's not a large Gallery, but it is always worth visiting if you're in the area, and very often worth the effort even if you are not. Bus service is very good, so you don't need to worry about parking. There are several good restaurants within walking distance, especially Chaise Lounge just down the street.

Donald Graham: Beautiful sculptures by local artists. Occasionally, noon shows in the summer.

C G: Interesting place to walk and look at the sculptures.

Christophe Candas: Exhibition of works by local artists, often renewed.

HTrinh: Beautiful art works !

Carolyn R: A hidden gem in Winnipeg. Make sure to stop by, especially if you are interested in Inuit art.

June Quiroga: This website does not do this shop justice. It is beyond imagination. If you are looking for Inuit sculptures etc. go no further. If you can't find something in this shop you will not ever find it. I fully recommend it. We bought a beautiful piece and just love her to bits. Thank you both John and Richard for spending all the time that you did with us and for entertaining us so royally. If ever we are back in the good old Peg, which I hold so dear and near to my heart, we will pop by to see your wares. You should be so very proud of your surroundings. June and Nelson Quiroga

Michael G. Schechter: The sculpture and prints in this gallery are amazing. And, Richard, the owner is gracious, friendly and generous with his amazing knowledge of Inuit artists and Inuit culture. The website is a very, very limited introduction to the collection. You must go to Winnipeg.

Brendan Guyot: Outstanding art and very knowledgeable
