Ramez Habibzadeh: I Googled for funeral homes, read reviews and, was impressed with excellent reviews about Kyle Grundy, the director of Basic Funeral and Cremation Choices. So, decided to go to their office at 2408 Haines Rd #2, Mississauga, without making an appointment. It was early March 2023 and, Kyle was in a meeting. But, his assistant, after talking to him, told me he would try to squeeze me in between his meetings. After sometimes Kyle came out of meeting room, introduced himself, and guided me to another room so we could talk in private. I mentioned about my wife being terminally sick and that; I need information on cremation services, process, cost, etc. I had a bit of review-skepticism as some do but, after talking to Kyle I realized the reviews I read about Kyle were definitely true. He was attentive, good listener, passionate and, accommodating. He gave me the information and useful advice that I needed as well, provided me with printed booklets, papers which covered all aspect of cremation services, processes, options and, cost for each option. At the end, he asked me to call anytime if I needed further information or clarification. It was May 8, 2023 when my wife passed away at home. I called Kyle and he dispatched his people - very professional I should say, to remove the body to their secure and temperature-controlled place before cremation takes place. Few days later I met Kyle to pay for expenses and pick up my wife’s urn. Every thing that Kyle promised was delivered and, the expense statement was exactly what I expected. Kyle is amazingly kind and extremely passionate person to deal with. He cares for his customers because he appreciates their pain and stress. Thank you Kyle for make this painful process easier for me.

Brenda Gibb: When my son tragically passed away outside of Canada recently it was difficult beyond belief to both deal with the extreme grief and at the same time make arrangements to bring him home for burial, coordinate with funeral homes in two countries, as well as the very high expense. I contacted several funeral homes at the encouragement of family members and discovered they are not all alike, both in terms of service, compassion, and pricing. I felt guilty "shopping around" for pricing to lay my son to rest but in the end I'm thankful I did. He would not have wanted me to pay for extravagances that were not necessary and the prices I'd been quoted by some other funeral homes were quite shocking. They even allowed me to purchase a specific casket I wanted from a retail supplier and ship it to them, which was also a significant financial savings. Base Ment: We used Basic Funerals and Cremation Choices when a family member passed away. They were compassionate and very responsive. They answered our many questions. We only needed a very basic package without many items that other establishments charged for. We shopped around and found their prices to be excellent and with no hidden fees. Highly recommended.

Post Family 2019: I was super impressed with the excellent service and transparent process of planning a direct to cremation funeral. All the arrangements and contract were done online, including the payment, which made the process not only convenient but safe. Communications with the director was prompt and clear. Debra Couto: I chose to go with Turner and Porter again after 10 years due to the compassionate and professional way they handled the sudden demise of my son.I used their services again on the loss of my dear husband in Dec. 2020. The people who work in the office were excellent. Special mention to Mr. Jeremy and Ms.Katherine.The experience with the funeral director was very unpleasant. She lacked compassion and wanted to control everything and acted in a very authoratative way , without consulting my son and me on sensitive memories which we wished to have at the service.I understand, the pandemic put restictions on numbers. However, in the church, she chose to challenge the priest on the presence of a pall bearer, a very close friend of my husband. She made him sit ouside in his car while she and her help sat in the foyer of the church. We selected a very beautiful flower arrangement and a portrait of my late husband to be placed near the coffin during the mass. She refused to bring and place it at the appropriate spot. When my son requested for it to be brought in, she gave an excuse which was not valid.The management were made aware of the issue. They did speak to me about it, but no sincere apology from the funeral director.She ruined the special memories that all family and friends around the world watching on live stream did not see. My husband's coffin laid stark and bare in the church, not becoming of the man he was!
