Sam Samida: One of the best restaurants in Hamilton period. Very unique menu plus nice selection of drinks. Dave is owner is very inviting and generous. Tried this place more than 20 times over the last few years. Excellent 🥂again and again like to visit this place whenever I have new date or driving by it lol this is one of my favourite restaurants in Hamilton. Never let me down when it comes to quality and taste.

Torré Spina: Edited after my original review, the owner had contacted me afterwards and was nothing less than perfect for how the situation went.The owner genuinely cares about each and every customer, and i can assure that this will be allergy friendly upon insistence to your server.Genuinely impressed, for the places I have gone and had allergic reactions, none have called me to genuinely ask how I was, it makes all the difference.As for the environment, and quality of food, nothing less than top notch. Every bite, every sip, every oyster, is delicious and is somehow even better than memory each time you eat there.The best restaurant in Hamilton, hands down.
Leona Olney: Hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in the southern Ontario! The food is beyond amazing - all out appetizers were great, especially the duck liver pate. The trout and braised beef were so full of flavour. And the crème brûlée was a lovely light finish to the meal along with great coffee. The service was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is open and welcoming and you can watch you meal being prepared in the kitchen. The cocktail list offers loads of options and they have a really good alcohol free selection as well. Can’t wait to go back!Parking: Across the road- 1 minute walk to restaurant.

Ravinder Dhaliwal: My fiancé and I had take out from this restaurant today. The food was phenomenal! Some of the best pasta we’ve had in Hamilton. We ordered the gnocchi with Nonna’s meat sauce and the Pollo Genovese with gluten free pasta, both were very delicious. The portions were worth the money and the customer service was wonderful as well. Overall experience 5/5!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
Erik Anderson: Went here a few nights ago for the third time. Great fresh food and atmosphere. Giving it 4 stars because there was 4 of us and 2 different bills at the end. We thought there was an error with what items go on what bill and I brought it to Rebecca’s attention and we went through it together and she noticed she didn’t put the added chicken on the bill for an additional cost. To me, if you forgot to add it I think the customer service thing to do would be to just leave it out since it was your error. Service and everything was still good except the last part thought that was not great.

The Certified Chicken Boy: was good, but for the price I was left with a feeling of dissatisfaction. The appetizers however were to die for - I don't think I've had a salad that good before, and the dessert was authentic and very enjoyable. The two young ladies serving my table were very kind and it was easy to see they were putting in effort to make the table's experience an enjoyable one. The location has some neat history, too. If you're not one to care for money or food too much and want an outing for a fun family experience, look no further.

Marcia Ingleton: This is not only a stellar restaurant but is my most favorite. I recently celebrated my 61st birthday at The French and to my absolute surprise, a special 8 course menu with wine pairing plus being seated being at the Chef's Table was awesome.The food, service, ambiance and conversation with the Chef, Somoliier and Staff was entertaining and very enjoyable. I cannot stop gushing about this restaurant and would recommend that you reserve a memorable night out at The French.....you won't be disappointed.

Alexis Petrovic: We were celebrating with family of 10 for 2 birthdays. The team here were fantastic from the time of booking the reservation to the end of the night! The place is beautiful, also they have live music and the food is really good, I tried the lobster with steak and omg, it was the first time I tried lobster and it was worth it. Jeremy Martin: Just got home after a lovely date night at Brothers Grimm Bistro. We had never been there and wanted to find a new place tonight. We literally googled "best upscale restaurant-vibe in Hamilton", and Brothers Grimm came up. So glad we took the chance and tried it. The atmosphere in there in amazing and cosy. We were greeted by a lovely hostess, and then Alexander looked after us for the evening. Alexander is a superstar server who helped make our date-night so special, The food was fantastic - we filled up on appetizers, wine, dessert & a freshly prepared coffee. We will 100% go back and bring friends next time. Awesome restaurant that I would recommend to anyone wanting a special night out!!!

Cassandra Gonzales: Pictured here are the The French Onion burger with Cajun fries and the Duck Wings with honey lime sriracha - damn delicious! The burger was hella tasty and just loaded with toppings. They didn’t skimp on the cajun seasoning on the fries at all. My only complaint would be to leave more of the meat on the duck wings, they’re so yummy. Oh, and their homemade ketchup is amazing!We sat out in the front patio, which they could definitely add a few more tables at. Service was SO kind and attentive. Definitely need to come back at try their other burgers.

I had the Yankee burger and it was SO good my only tiny problem is the fries are a bit too salty for me but other than that the food was delicious. I definitely recommend if you want a really good burger.
Chase Robertson: Southern catfish was so great! The only reason I’m giving 4/5 is because the fries were definitely over salted. I was drinking quite a bit of water just to only eat about half. Enough about that though because the flavor of the catfish was so great!Vibes were immaculate. Such a chill spot. I also recommend the Ginger Snap drink if you opt for a non-alcoholic drink. Price was decent and loved the fact that we would mix and match since the tacos were priced individually. We ordered dessert as well, I think it was a cheesecake with passion fruit or mango purée on top, and it was okay.The only issue we had was parking since there was construction in the area, but not a big deal.

Miss Cathy: Excellent food and well priced for the amount of flavourful food that will arrive to your table. House made Caesar dressing and croutons yes 🙌🏼incredible caesar salad with chicken! House made broth for their soups, and the poutine vegan gravy and Montreal cheese curds are melt in your mouth amazing! Tony also makes from scratch melt in your mouth the best tasting cannolis that will blow your mind! Thank you staff!!!
Stephen Skuse: Went down for the Art Crawl tonight and decided to give Charred a shot. My wife and I both got cocktail drinks, she went with the Chicken Sandwich, I went with the Brisket. We both chose mild dipping sauce and ended up splitting the sandwiches in half so we could each try both. The server let me know that she doesn't use the dipping sauce with the Brisket, and she was not wrong. There was so much flavor and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken on the other hand, was moist, but we had to use the dipping sauce due to lack of flavour. Definitely worth the price for the sandwiches, as everything was so fresh. Looking forward to trying more of the menu in the future.

Randy G: Party of 4, on a Saturday evening. We ate on the patio which is set beside the main building, back from the sidewalk. Very nice atmosphere for dinner, little street noise. Our server was friendly and efficient and we enjoyed appetizers, mains and dessert. The Key Lime tart was excellent. The interior of the tavern is quite elegant, and we’d definitely recommend, except for the Chocolate crème Brûlée which was more of a chocolate pudding and overly sweet.

Staff are good but drinks take time to arrive at table. Still this place deserves 6 stars out of 5. Been there few times and never let down. Hannah Schneider: Brux is always stellar, but it was extra special last night knowing that it might be the last time we dine there! Great service as always from Dylan and Eamonn. Food and drinks were great. The standouts were the broccoli appetizer and an exceptionally good negroni. Lots of good memories at this place, you will be missed!

Amanda Stewart Reiser: This has been on my list for SO long and I’m happy we finally got to try it. It’s a great spot on Locke in an old building, candlelit ambience and comfy booths. The food was amazing - pretzels, schnitzel and chocolate torte were all delicious. Solid beer selection and cocktail list as well. A little pricey but the meal was fantastic so you truly get what you pay for.
Olivia Adam: My first time coming here for my birthday dinner and I must say, everything about this place is exceptional. If I were put on death row, I would choose their pork belly as my final meal. Our server was lovely, the food was beyond amazing, and the whole atmosphere really tied in the experience. Left my boyfriend and I speechless by the end of our night. Phenomenal.
Tyler McGillivray: Really nice patio. The staff was very friendly and service was great. Service was quick and did not have to wait long for our drinks or food. The food was fantastic. One of the best chicken schnitzels dinners I have had. My wife had the seared trout and it looked almost too perfect to eat. The drink menu was quite extensive and had a nice selection. Highly recommend to check this restaurant out.

Human Scaffold: We have been going to Shakespeare's for 30+ years, and it is our go-to restaurant for all family events, anniversaries, birthdays and those nights when we simply want to get out for a great dinner. The service is next level, the food is cooked to perfection and the atmosphere is unique, warm that leaves on with a feeling like you're part of the family. The staff are an awesome group of characters that make you feel like you've been part of their family for years. Simply a delight at all touch points. Congrats to Leo, Franko and the gang - WE LOVE SHAKESPEARE'S!!

The lunch special for two included soup, wontons, spring rolls, and 2 meat dishes with rice... For a very reasonable $40+.The food and service were both exceptional. We will definitely be back.
Tracy Clements: This was the first time that I’ve visited this restaurant. Oh my it was absolutely delicious and probably some of the best food I’ve eaten. I’ve just moved here from the US and I wanted to find a nice place to eat. This was it. Service was impeccable and everything was cooked to perfection. I can’t wait to bring my husband back to try as well. He’s been in Stoney Creek for a long time and he’s going to love it as much as I did. Thank you for making me a delicious dinner. It was delightful ❤️.

Jocelyn Ensign: Waitress Vicky was so polite and friendly took our drink order right away, brought us our starters, soup and salad delicious, Vicky brought us our food and my husband decided he wanted a side order of gravy, Vicky went and got it for him right away. It was starting to get busy but she kept checking on us to make sure we were ok. After dinner my husband got the triple chocolate mousse, it was my husband's birthday, and Vicky got a candle and lit it so my husband could make a wish on his birthday, now a days how many people are that kind and they did take his dessert off of our bill. So thoughtfull. We love going to Blackforest, food always delicious, portions are huge.
