Claude Filteau: Dealing with Decorrestore and their kitchen designer, Melissa Flegg, was an absolute pleasure. They came highly recommended by several neighbors in our building who had used their services in the past, and they more than lived up to their reputation. Who knew a renovation could be stress-free? The work was done within the original timeline they gave us, and the finished product is nothing short of fantastic, given that we started with a dated kitchen from 2004. We kept the original cabinets and added another row of cupboards on top, for that high-end look, and a large island. They looked after the installation of a quartz countertop and backsplash. Even with the COVID-19 chaos of supply chain issues and extremely high demand on all trades people Heartwood did an amazing job to get our project completed quickly and my father-in-law moved in. These guys are coming into your home and are very respectful. The sub trades that heartwood uses are also well vetted. Nardi in particular are top notch electricians and very professional. They clean up after themselves which is rare in the industry. Joal, Nick, Isaac, Taylor and Marina - thank you so much for taking all our calls and really caring about our home like it was yours. The culture Joal and Nick have instilled in their team is that of caring for the client and professionalism. We are a high maintenance client with endless questions and they didn’t once show any sign of being frustrated with us. They know Renos like ours are challenging and stressful for the homeowner. Joal and Nick would always get back to us even late at night or weekends. If you go with heartwood, you will be well taken care of and get a great end result. However with a company like this that is in very high demand, you’ll have to just be patient as they have lots of projects on the go and getting sub trades to come do things can be challenging at times. However good things come to those who wait though. Finally the 5 year warranty is outstanding and rare in the industry. They stand behind their work and that’s the biggest thing.

She recommended samples to suit our taste and even stayed at work late so I could pick up a couple of last-minute samples. They scheduled the measurements on a Saturday afternoon and had the counters completed by Wednesday. A 4 day turnaround seemed unheard of. The installers were competant and got the work done even when my 102 year old house didn't line up square. Richard Lukos: our oak kitchen cabinets. I met Ken Kim at the shop and he showed me one of the kitchen cabinets door they were working on. He then came to the house with colour samples. Ken said they were booking into Novemeber. When they arrived, they removed all the kitchen cabinet doors and took them to their shop to be cleaned and painted. They then came by the house to tape off the cabinets and prep them for painting the next day. All the workers were polite, efficient and excellent at what they do. Everything was done in just a few months!! I was regularly surprised and impressed at how efficiently everything moved along. Manco is organized and have connections to some of the most skilled and professional tradespeople out there. They take care of everything involved in the process from permits, to ordering supplies, to subcontractors. I never had to worry about anything. We contacted Manco as they had worked on a few other homes in our neighbourhood and we were impressed with how those projects turned out. Once we decided to go forward with Joe and Joe Jr. the process went much smoother than we could have hoped for. They were upfront with us every step of the way and were easy to contact whenever we had a question or concern. When there was something in the plans that wasn’t going to work or there was going to be additional cost, Joe worked with us to try and save money in other areas without compromising our vision.
