Columbia International College: what do users think?

Pascaline Adom: If you are an international student going on a school hunt, here are some few pros and cons to know about Columbia international college.ProsFree tutoring. The staffs especially at the front desk are the most welcoming people I have ever meet.Teachers will make you thrive hard even there is no hope. The school is diverse so you will have to expect talking to people outside your race. You get to try other cultural food like Turkish foods, Indian foods, Chinese foods, Nigerian foods etc.80% of the students get into IVY league schools not only in Canada.Tuition is inexpensive compared to other international schools.Even though CIC is 70+ years, it still looks new. Because they renovates it every two-four years.CicYou don’t really get to enjoy senior year since there is alot of work and pressure for university preparation.Zero tolerance in breaking school rules. Its a con for a rule breaker kid.

Robert Land Academy: what do users think?

JC G: My son has been at RLA for several years now. Captain Bowman has been instrumental in my son's success. There are so many wonderful role models for the boys working at the school. Thank you RLA for helping him reach his full potential.

Sean Reilly: The Senior Staff at Robert Land Academy are excellent! Working with Troy, Peter, and the whole team has been a great experience. It is clear that the staff at Robert Land Academy care about the success of their students.

Lantmark Holdings: Played against their basketball team...good experience. Their team was courteous and displayed the highest level of sportsmanship and discipline while playing well. Speaks volumes about the school. Great to be playing where the goal is to play a great game!

Wanda Halpert: Best school for boys in Canada. They flourish, become proud of their accomplishments and it sets them up to achieve success.

Karen Race: Very professional and caring staff and teachers. They really work with every student to help them realize their full potential. It is such a great change from the public system in the Greater Toronto Area. Finally a place where my child is safe, encouraged to develop a good work ethic and building confidence based on truly earned rewards.

Remo Niceforo: No better place, that I know of, for boys to learn discipline, values, accountablity, respect and increase their self awarenes. The staff is truly committed to this orgaization and bring out the best in the boys.

Alex Churchill: First rate, organized, and professional staff - great to work with.

Paul Vrana: An amazing environment for young men aimed at challenging their limits and unlocking their full potential. To achieve these successes, the Academy takes the best practices of military culture and combines it with a supportive environment and personalized attention. The education receive is well rounded, not merely academic, but social and emotional as well. Cadets learn the ever so important soft skills so lacking in the workplace today. Leadership, work ethic, time management, teamwork, resiliency, accountability, communication, and problem solving are but a few of the many traits that are nurtured at the Academy, which, when combined with their “Academic” education will provide them with a future full of opportunity. I was a student some years ago and it literally changed the course of my life. It can for you to!

James Paterson: I was very thankful my Dad loved me enough to invest in my education, and offer me a chance to turn things around here at RLA in 1990.A solid foundation for a solid future. Discipline learned here will help build a lifetime of success if capitalized upon. It's tough medicine for some, but if you're tough enough to handle the process and accept what instructors are trying to teach you instead of fighting it, you'll do well in life.2022 update. I believe in this school so much that I have sent my own son to RLA. It's hard to be on the parents side now as I don't get to see him much, but I'm thrilled to see him grow in ways I would have never imagined.

brent otterman: Our Son attended RLA for Gr. 12. His experience was exceptional and he really enjoyed the experience. His development and academic achievement exceeded our expectations. Thanks to the Staff for their outstanding work!

Kenny J: My wife and I have had the pleasure of sending all four of our boys to Robert Land Academy. The misconception of this school is that it is a place for only struggling children. However, that is contrary to the reality since our boys were not really in that category. We just felt that discipline was one of the main criteria for students to succeed in life. Therefore, the decision to send them to this particular school was based on the schools' principle of structure, discipline, routine, and ability to help struggling students and students with learning difficulties excel to university level. The teachers and staff played an integral part in the students' development; they were engaged in the growth and maturity of the students. The quality of the teachers and staff was outstanding as many of them had some form of military background. As a result, the calibre of education was very high as the teachers and staff seemed to adopt the same principles that focused on service, duty, accountability and responsibility. Students and parents may be challenged by the old-school, tough-love method of education that has been applied from time to time; however, the wisdom in these methods worked. The knowledge and understanding used by the teachers and staff helped to set the foundation and expectations for the school. Also, the advice given was genuine, and measures were taken not to deplete the quality of the students' character. There was a great diversity of students from around the world, helping to bridge the social and cultural gaps and establish lasting friendships between many of the students. The school presented a lot of opportunities and diverse activities such as sky-diving and deep-sea diving. In addition, the students went on many character-building trips such as fall-x and the New Mexico death march. They also partook in disciplinary life skills that are often taken for granted, such as making one's bed, keeping personal space tidy and shining shoes. As a result, RLA fashions boys into confident young men and help them achieve educational excellence while cultivating leadership skills. All of our boys did very well at RLA; they adopted superb study skills and work ethics, they all left with outstanding grades. They are well mannered, strong-minded, confident young men. We highly recommend this school to all those looking to develop an excellent foundation for their son's.

Gin Lupton: The staff at Robert Land Academy were caring and consistent. We were completely confident in our son’s safety during COVID. It took just two weeks, two!, for RLA to have a positive impact on our son being able to do his homework without argument or conflict. His favorite parts were: the annual hike along the Bruce Trail to Fort George; learning survival skills in the woods at the school; and weekly club day. We highly recommend RLA. It was the best decision we made for our son’s education.

I watched some really intense volleyball and some excellent coaching. The Hamilton christian school did a wonderful job hosting the tournament. The gym had plenty of sitting space to watch the games, the staff there were friendly and pleasant to chat with. Brad Heidbuurt was more then fantastic as the host for the day. Thank you for opening the doors to your lovely school.
