Ravinder Dhaliwal: My fiancé and I had take out from this restaurant today. The food was phenomenal! Some of the best pasta we’ve had in Hamilton. We ordered the gnocchi with Nonna’s meat sauce and the Pollo Genovese with gluten free pasta, both were very delicious. The portions were worth the money and the customer service was wonderful as well. Overall experience 5/5!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
Erik Anderson: Went here a few nights ago for the third time. Great fresh food and atmosphere. Giving it 4 stars because there was 4 of us and 2 different bills at the end. We thought there was an error with what items go on what bill and I brought it to Rebecca’s attention and we went through it together and she noticed she didn’t put the added chicken on the bill for an additional cost. To me, if you forgot to add it I think the customer service thing to do would be to just leave it out since it was your error. Service and everything was still good except the last part thought that was not great.

Mel Dalton: Went there for dinner and was greeted by a nice server. The place had a cozy atmosphere and I love how the water is served with sliced fruit. Hands down the best Italian salad I’ve had in a long time, fresh and a big portion. The food was worth the wait!! Sarah Elshafei: Really enjoyed my dinner at Giuseppe's! Authentic flavors, hearty plates and chill atmosphere! We were warmly greeted by Melissa who started us off with complementary flat bread before our dinner was served, and we finished the meal with coffee and desert! I highly recommend trying the apple pie with cheese desert; so delicious and was a first for me! I rarely write reviews but this place is a hidden gem. Best of all, prices are reasonable and service is fantastic! Will definitely have dinner at Giuseppe's again!

Lori Lintott: ... by far, its the best I have ever had. Mushroom lovers beware, I don't think there is a pasta with more mushrooms then this!!!! I ate it so quick I forgot to take a picture, so you just have to go try it!
Colin Gagich: Had a great time here with the family for a birthday celebration. Staff are courteous and professional. Every dish we had was well received and the specials are intriguing enough to go back. I'd recommend the Beef Carpaccio as a must.Only issue was the atmosphere, it wasn't very lively and does feel like a dead restaurant. This could have been the time of day or day of week but it's noticable. Also with the open floor plan it's especially obvious when the restaurant is empty. I hope this can be turned around, I'd want nothing less for this beautiful establishment!

Mike Gamache: Am a bit derelict in my posting this but still want to comment.I was in Hamilton for the Canada weekend race at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, and got into town later than I had anticipated.I took a chance that they might still serve me even at 9 pm on a Thursday.To my great surprise and delight, Margherita greeted me and seated me instantly, reassuring me that I could get dinner.I already knew from a previous visit what I wanted, so it was a quick decision.Caesar salad and gnocchi gorgonozola. Both as delicious as I remembered.She suggested a tap beer and it was great.As was her service, and she put up with my corny jokes, too !And when I dared to ask if they had cannoli, she said," We could hardly claim to be an Italian restaurant if we didn't have them ! "We both laughed, that time.I highly recommend this small but fantastic little gem.Thanks, Margherita and crew.

William Patterson: As a small group of family and friends, we came for dinner tonight. We had a wonderful time, great food as always and excellent service. At the table behind us was a small family without a reservation but graciously accomodated by the staff. It appeared that the husband was not able to receive the entre that he selected as it was sold out. He became upset over the matter. Unfortunately the patrons were forced to witness his rude behaviour as he admonished the wait staff, followed by his ushering his embarrassed family out the door leaving drinks behind and without paying his bill. I wish to compliment the staff and of note the head waitress òn her calm demeanor and professional handling of the situation. We look forward to our next visit.

Erinn Cudahy: so we thought it would be fine but upon entering we saw that there were two levels of seating. The ground level one was all high chairs and the regular chairs were all at the higher level. The bathrooms are down a small flight of stairs as well. We were lucky that the place was completely empty when we arrived, so that we had time to get my disabled mother up the stairs to our reservation. Was more awkward helping her down, when there were people who needed to also use the stairs.Service: our server was a delight. I'm sad to say I forget her name but she was shorter with dark hair and very energetic. She was funny and helpful, helping some people choose meals would suit them and giving her opinions when asked. She was on top of service and was very accommodating. One of the best servers I've ever had, if not the best.Atmosphere: the place is beautiful inside, but the high ceilings and hard wood let sound carry too well. It seems we were the first reservation that night so for the first half hour it was fine, but once other tables started filling up we had trouble hearing each other.Food: the Fettuccine Allegra is very good. The Pollo Parmigiano seemed to be enjoyed. I did try a little of its pasta and I and another guest in our party agree that it has the very distinct taste of boxed pasta. I don't know if the Fettuccine Allegra is box pasta as it didn't have that odd taste but the Pollo Parmigiano is impossible to eat without tasting box. I had the lamb and gnocchi. I cannot compare it to other lamb as this is my first time trying the meat but it was fall-off-the-bone and the gnocchi was very good.For dessert I had both a Cannoli and a Venetian Cannoli

He was very accommodating when I kept needing to change my number count. The food was amazing we got so many guests coming up to tell us how good the food was. Graeme MacKay: The pizza at this establishment consistently impresses with its delicious, fire-cooked, thin crust. The staff is not only attentive but also attractive, friendly, and fun. While slightly higher priced, this place caters to a clientele that values good food, delightful cocktails, and an extensive selection of decent wines. It is a quality restaurant bar that rivals those found in major cities, yet manages to maintain a welcoming atmosphere without any pretentiousness. To top it off, it is conveniently located just a 10-15 minute walk from my house!

Denise Alesi: I had dinner at CIMA, for the first time recently and it was fantastic. I loved the Kale Caesar Salad and the Calamari Fritti was delicious. My Husband enjoyed the Grilled Calamari and the Pasta Dishes were very tasty. The Staff were very friendly and attentive. Our Server, Taylor was really good. Stuart Germain: We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Castelli Cucina and are looking forward to eating there again. Service was excellent and the wait staff were very attentive. The space itself is very well decorated and feels cozy and inviting. We started with the focaccia and it was amazing! The combination of the dough and the fact it was cooked to perfection in a wood fired oven made it the best I have had. We had pasta next, and my pappardelle was perfectly cooked, served hot, and the sauce had lots of meat and flavour. My wife had the Conchiglioni and also enjoyed it. Both of the servings were generous and we didn’t have room for dessert. I will definitely be returning to try the pizza and some dessert options and would recommend Castelli Cucina. The only downside was that the dining area can be on the louder side, but that was not enough to cost a star with everything else being so good.
C Cadesky: We were running late and looking for a place to eat on a Sunday around 8pm. Most places were closed. Castelli’s was open so we gave them a shot. I called my son first to ask him if he has been here and he said many times. I had the home made pasta with no meat and my wife had the mushroom pizza. Both tasted fresh and delicious. The service was prompt and friendly.
Dave Younger: Biggest mistake of our trip was walking into this hole in the wall bistro.The food was amazing, the service was on point, and it just felt like a place to sit and hang out with friends or family.The reason it was a big mistake is that we want to dine there regularly, but it's 5hrs away from us.Parking: Unfortunately the only thing we did not appreciate about Castelli is that there is only street/meter parking and it took a while to find meters nearby.

But I just had to come and write a review because we love castelli!!!! I would suggest booking a reso in advance because it is always super full but the food is SO good. It’s truly quality food. The dough they use for the burrata bread and pizza is just amazing… like I could solely just eat the crusts on the pizza and be happy because it’s so good😩Their menu changes frequently which is nice and the pastas and pizzas are both equally as good so it’s hard choosing between each. If you’re in hamilton and looking for Italian this should be a no brainer.

The Calamari was incredibly fresh, only downside was that it was seasoned with just a little too much salt. All of the pizzas we had were great and so were the pastas.The rum and coke was a little watered down. The Nodini pastry was tough, it should be light and airy. The Tiramisu wasn't special but the Sicilian Cannoli had a good filling.Overall I highly recommend this place because the staff was incredible, the food was still delicious minus some flaws and the atmosphere was great.Recommended for 1-6 people

We got a chicken Alfredo & spaghetti bolognese and we were shocked at the size of the pasta dishes. Melissa Kelly: , deep fried meatballs, cheese ravioli, and a bloomin’ onionWe decided on Alfredo’s because of the posts of the ginormous panzerottis we have seen online. Are they actually as big in person as the pictures show? Well, the answer is YES. We ordered two small and they were huge. Dough was good and ingredients were fresh. The onion stayed crispy, it was nice to have a carnival type food at home. The fried meatballs were well seasoned and a great bite. To be honest, the hype is real about Alfredo’s. Everything is good. Everything is filling. And we had plenty for the next day. But for us, it was the ravioli and the sauce that was the best part of the meal. The pasta and sauce were delicate and fresh and soft and the pasta wasn’t too thick and this is a run on sentence because it was that good. We used the sauce on everything. Alfredo’s parking isn’t great, so plan your trip. And it’s hot in there. But if you’re lucky, you may get a sample meatball while you wait!
Eddie Troisi: My wife and I went there today for dinner and dined in. If I could give this more stars I would. We started with the deep fried meatballs. They were excellent. We then ordered a small panzerotti with onion, meatballs and pepperoni to share. The panzerotti was delicious. The dough was perfectly cooked. Nice and thin and crispy so that your panzerotti is not just a big slab of dough like most places. You can tell this dough is made fresh daily. The inside of the panzerotti was full of our toppings. No skimping here. We also ordered the lasagna. This was by far the best lasagna I've ever eaten. Authentic Italian lasagna, like my mom makes. The kicker to all 3 dishes was the sauce. Again, you can tell this sauce is made fresh every day. Good authentic Italian food is done with few ingredients and fresh ingredients. This is 100% the case here at Alfredos. Simple food done right with fresh good ingredients. Please do yourself a favor and try this place out if your looking for great Italian food. The people behind the counter are the best. It reminds me of going to my cousins house and having family get together to share a meal. My mom and my aunts all working together to make our food. That's what this place feels like.

Hana Arneil: I recently organized a wedding held at Martello, and I want to express my utmost appreciation for the exceptional service provided at this venue. Gaby was incredibly responsive and accommodating, ensuring that the bride and groom's vision was not only met during the planning phase but also exceeded on the actual event day. The team's close-knit friendships added to the wonderful atmosphere in this already stunning space. As well, our guests left were raving about the delicious food throughout.Whether you're looking for an event venue or thinking of enjoying a meal, I highly suggest experiencing Martello!
Sidhu Family: The staff is friendly and the service is good. Really liked the pizza and the pasta. It's right in the heart of the city! Love the ambience; they have a huge patio with benches in the back and the wood oven pizza is in the indoor dining area which adds to the homely feeling. Burning candles with wax melted over, exposed brick walls is the look they are going for. Food is decently priced; just didn't like that they charge for chili oil as must Italian restaurants I've frequented don't do so. I've been to Italy and I wasn't even charged there. Just a suggestion for the restaurant to consider.
Vanessa Marie: I am writing a review from the end of June when I took my daughter and I here for the first time. We had really excellent service by our younger male server. Loved the cosy vibe inside and our pastas were incredible. Mine was Agnolotti Di Funghi and although delicious, $29 for a bowl of pasta is over the top. We also wanted calamari as an appetizer but they ran out so we got the grilled octopus, all 3 pieces of it, loaded with fingerling potatoes. I was not impressed. But otherwise a very pleasant and enjoyable place to dine and have drinks.
Laura Ricker: This was our first time at this Italian restaurant, tucked away on the vibrant James St N. It came highly recommended by friends and we can see why! Amazing service, good, quality, and attention to detail. The gnocchi was to die for, everyone wanted a bite! The carbonara is also delicious and they make a mean negroni and cappuccino.Would definitely suggest eating here. The atmosphere is great too and they played awesome music. Very hip, but good for all ages. My sister and I are in our 40’s and our mum is in her 80’s and we all loved it. Will definitely be back.

Luke Greco: It wasn't easy researching for a great Italian restaurant in Hamilton, but we found it at Capri. The vibe in the restaurant captures the blue of Capri well, and the staff were very friendly. There was only our group of 2 and one other on a Sunday night for dinner, and it may have been a slow day, but don't be turned off by that anyway because the food speaks for itself. We got the fried calamari and a panzerotto to start and share. The fried calamari were as good as any, light batter that stayed on and a perfect amount of salt, with a nice cocktail sauce. The panzerotto was also very tasty and seemed to be lightly fried, but not oily. Served with a side sauce which was a nice touch that not every place does. For our mains we split the eggplant parmigiana dish as it also came with a side pasta or salad and opted for a side of the broccoli pasta, both of which were excellent. I enquired about the eggplant parmigiana before ordering and was told that they recently started breading it which is exactly what I wanted to hear because if you don't do that it turns out to be a mushy mess. This one was layered and had good structure or easy cutting and texture. The sauce on it was also flavourfull. The pasta dish was also very good with a garlic olive oil base and was very fresh and cooked al dente. The portions were so big we were able to split this one main. All of that came out to just over $70 with tax and tip. We were very impressed with this hidden family gem.
Michelle Leo: I was at the restaurant Wednesday May 17th 1st the service was amazing there was one waitress and she was fabulous unfortunately. I did not get her name but oh my goodness amazing young woman. 2nd food was amazing I ended up having the chicken parm. And I got gnocchi on the side It was homemade and it was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant I used to go to it years ago And the food is still? Amazing. You should really check it out if you're looking for good italian food in the downtown Hamilton.
