Neal Jensen: Our church Living Hope goes there every Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. to bring the Love of Jesus to those who temporarily call Good Shepherd home. We hand out food and drinks. We also hand out clothes, winter gear, and we are always there to pray for those who need it. We also share the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Alissa Latour: This is a men’s homeless shelter & it’s the largest in the city providing approximately 85 men with a bed and place that is their own for 3 months as long as they don’t fight or steal and they make cerfew of 10 pm and when they do bed checks at night that they don’t miss more than 1 or 2 as they go around every hour to make sure they are there. Keeping them there all night is for their safety and they can’t go buy stuff if you have to be in your room at cerfew. It costs nothing to stay there. There is also 10 cots for people when all beds are used that they can get for the night called overflow and if anybody misses the 10 pm cerfew the 1st person in line in the overflow gets that bed they have a system . They also feed the men 3 meals a day, very good tasting too. The staff that deals with the clients there are kind and understanding and have saved so many lives it’s very admirable seeing how they save them even if they aren’t a client/resident staying there and they need help they run outside and help whoever needs it.

4worldlovers: Good Shepherd Notre Dame House is committed to helping youth who are street-involved or homeless due to family violence, conflict, abuse, neglect, poverty and exposure to mental health and addiction issues. Our goal is to ensure that they have support to overcome obstacles to become active and contributing members of our community.
Notre Dame House is a 24-hour emergency shelter providing 21 beds for youth between 16 and 21 years of age. The program uses a team approach with community collaboration to help youth reach their personal goals using a strength-based and client-centred approach.
Meeting all basic needs by providing meals and snacks, clothing, laundry and hygiene products, etc.
The Notre Dame Community Resource Centre is a centre for at-risk youth residing within the community who are between 16 and 21 years of age. Youth have access to a number of support services and programs to assist them in remaining housed; diverting them from homelessness and street involvement.
A case coordinator assists the youth in navigating community and internal services based on their identified needs.
Access to all on-site mental health, medical care, addiction/substance use services
In partnership with the Hamilton Regional Indian Centre, we provide opportunities for youth to engage in cultural activities and to reconnect with their traditional teachings

Belle Setaoc: This place was life changing for me and my family. They listened and supported me and went above and beyond for us. They fought beside me in the hardest times of my life and helped build me up and encouraged me to believe in myself there is not enough thanks I could give to them. We are together in our safe forever home because of them and they will always be remembered for their part in saving our lives. We could not say enough about the amazing staff that was there and listened, supported and even sacrificed for us. They were kind friendly and never judgemental. THANK YOU for all you do and continue to do for the many women who have been though hell and made it through because of you
Jennifer Todd: I must have been close by. But I stayed there 6 years ago and it was really good if you needed a place and had now were to go. They always want to help you. They keep you moving like looking for a new place. When you first go there they will give you a purse or bag. It will have shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, a hairbrush, underwear in it. And if you don't have any, they will give you new pajamas. I liked it, and there's more than I can say.
Katrina Graham: I am surprised that this shelter has no issues disclosing their address. When we were in need many years ago, we were not allowed to tell anybody where we were living and had to meet our family elsewhere. They only did lock downs when there was a severe case of abuse which was our situation. Most of the women while we were there were friendly and were looking for new residence due to evictions. We enjoyed our time there given our circumstances at the time. We didn't stay too long though as we found a new apartment right away. I think the stay period is 6 weeks. It may have changed. I hope you never have to be in a situation where you will need to utilize this facility but if it happens that you do, ask about bugs etc. Bring minimal things with you and put what you can in storage or a friends garage.
T A: Amazing shelter me and my kids were supported on so many levels. While I was in this shelter I went into labour and holy hell the staff made sure I had everything I needed to welcome my new baby they even had a hospital bag packed for me in advance.and they surprised me with a doula for support as well. My son was also diagnosed with ASD and a genetic disease a week or so before and they helped me with that as well other women at the shelter were awesome as well we all got along.would recommend this shelter to anybody who needs help

When I went through a marriage separation, I thought the whole world was falling on me, left to raise three boys. I had no family to go to. They supported me in every possible way—everyone who donates to this center knows that my family prays for you. I am a psychotherapist in training, and I pray to give back to this center soon. To every woman, never feel afraid to seek help; you are never alone. I felt empowered to go through this single motherhood journey because of the Women's Center of Hamilton.
