The feedback series workshop will train participants in the power of safe and supportive feedback. Discover the art of giving feedback in a constructive and uplifting way, fostering a positive learning environment. The workshop will use a structured feedback mechanism, that avoids both judgement and “should haves and could haves.” Practise makes permanent, not perfect without feedback.

Whether you’re an improv enthusiast or a beginner, this workshop will enhance your feedback and improv comedy skills. Your instructor is Hugh. He is the executive director of Staircase Improv, and the creator of learnimprov.com.

$80+ fees includes: four small-group workshops August2, 9, 16, 23 and admission to the jam/mini-show in August.

In this 3-week workshop series, improvisers will explore the theory behind scenework using Staircase Improv curriculum with a strong focus on LACE: Listen-Accept-Commit-Expand. They will get a practical introduction to long form improv concepts from the foundational book, Truth in Comedy. On week 4, they will showcase their skills at the monthly Staircase jam!

Participants will learn how to bring their authentic selves to the stage to create impactful scenes. We’ll create a brave space and provide the various improv tools necessary to: discover your voice, make big choices, stay connected to your fellow improvisers, and find the heart of an improv scene.

We’ll tie it all together so you can discover why “the truth is funny”! (Halpern, Close, and Johnson)

$60 + fees includes: three small-group workshops July 5, 12, 19 and admission to the jam/mini-show in August.

Audience and performers are welcome in this hosted unclass of fun.

A bespoke series is where a self organizing group picks a time, duration, and instructor(s) that suits their needs. Pricing varies by number of participants and duration of the series.
