Melissa Kelly: Called at 230pm for a 4pm pick upOrdered Cheese Wontons, Beef and Broccoli, Beef Lo Mein, Orange Chicken, Deep Fried Shrimps, Short Ribs, Pork Dumplings and an Egg RollGrowing up on the mountain in the 80s, my family would traditionally eat at the great buffet that was China Kiki at Mountain Plaza Mall or travel to Burlington to eat at the greater buffet that was Foo Ho. When looking for Chinese food here in the city, the food had to live up to those standards in my memory. Eng’s does not disappoint. It is fast, hot, and very tasty. The egg roll was eaten so fast we missed it in the picture! The breading in the shrimps was unlike any other deep fried shrimps goodness I’ve had, and even lasted to the next day for lunch. The beef in both beef dishes was flavourful and well cooked. The vegetables were crunchy and sauced well. The Lo Mein noodles were great both on their own with sweet and sour sauce and with the beef and veg, too. And the orange chicken? Full of saucy goodness. The Short Ribs were the perfect kind of sticky if that makes any sense. Oh - and cheese wontons - they are just cheese, no crab - they are just a delight, both before and after the meal. There was plenty of food for two people - we ordered it for 4pm so that we could snack on it all night, and had enough for lunch the next day. They also tossed in about 8 fortune cookies which is always a bonus.We have lived on the east mountain for 5 years now, and just tried Eng’s for the first time. It is dangerously good knowing it is so very close.

The lady I spoke with on the phone was very lovely, and took my order with no problems, she told me there would be a 2 hour wait understandably on New Years Eve, and trust me any other place was not delivering at all, and these guys stepped up and delivered!! The delivery girl was lovely, hopefully she made it through the New Years Night! And now the food... wow the food was actually super hot I've never had that from any delivery service which was amazing 👏 and everything we ordered was there, and all my guests where happy, excellent food, excellent delivery, excellent communication, this place goes above and beyond for their customers, and I'm 1000% Satisfied with my order, and based on my experience tonight I'd highly recommend this establishment, and I'd definitely order from them again!! Neill C: South China Chinese Food is a fantastic take out restaurant that I would highly recommend to anyone who loves Chinese cuisine. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, but their pork chop and onion on rice and egg fu yung on rice are two of my absolute favorites.
Yao Jia (Jessica) Zhang: I use to be a regular here when i was a student years ago, now i try to grab a meal whenever i pass by the area, their food is so good, authentic and homey and the lovely lady still recognizes me. I recommend the eggplant with minced pork on rice and the fujian fried rice. Havent found another place that makes those dishes better! You can also ask to customize the spicyness and not to put any msg as well.

All the entres were obviously fresh made and delicious. I was amazed . Older Gentleman and his wife prepared the food. This is the best Chinese food I've had for years !

Ended up resorting to this place as all the Dundas locations closed early; even with a 20 min drive delivery I can honestly say this was the best Chinese takeout I’ve ever had. My first immediate thought was how well everything was seasoned; like proper cooking season all ingredients individually before cooking vibe. The egg rolls were packed with flavour and super crunchy; the beef and vegetables had so much beefy umami flavour that it was uncharacteristically my favourite dish and will be the reason I order from them again; chicken fried rice was amazing; chicken balls and deep fried shrimp were what you’d expect. Kelly McNeice: Tonight was our first time trying Lee’s Chinese. It’s been a challenge to find good Chinese food in the city since nellies and Kim shans closed. However, if you liked those places, you’ll love this place! Everything was hot and fresh, not greasy at all, even the fried items. Even though it’s Christmas Day, I was able to call, place an order and pick it up within an hour! So far we have tried their pork friend rice - tender meat, nice smoky savory taste. Beef and broccoli - tender beef and fresh al dente broccoli, onions and carrots. Mushroom egg foo young, hands down the best I have tasted yet! Their egg rolls are up there with some of the best, ours were cold so I don’t feel like I got the full experience, but next time 🤞🏻!! Sweet and sour chicken balls were crunchy and delicious, sauce has a nice tang to it. Overall I would recommend this Chinese restaurant! I would have given 4.5 if I could, lost half a point for the cold egg rolls, but honestly I was looking for things that were wrong and that was it!

I moved to the opposite end of the city and tried so many other places, but it’s just not the same! Their egg foo young is also stellar and I love their pepper beef. Nana Anane: So I usually order Party Trays from another place in the city but Saturday around 1pm they were closed so I decided to Google Chinese in the area and stumbled upon East City.I was absolutely thrilled with the party tray I ordered from East City. Despite the short notice, they exceeded my expectations. They don’t joke around with portions; I ended up buying more than enough for less $ than what I buy from the other place. Noah Moruzi: Went here a week or so ago with 2 other friends. The staff was friendly and the restaurant itself felt nice. Between the 3 of us, we ordered chicken fried rice, General chow chicken, chicken balls, and dry cooked beans. The food was good and tasted more authentic than the Chinese food I have gotten from restaurants in the surrounding area. There was more than enough for all of us, and with the bill split between us, it was pretty cheap aswell. Would recommend.
Avinash Singh: This is nestled in Westdale Village in the west end of Hamilton. Its a lovely location to dine, its not been as busy as it used to pre-pandemic but just means i get served delicious meals faster. The food is great tasting and portions are good value. The ataff are very accommodating and you can order ahead. If they tell you 15 to 20mins they mean it unless you get a busy evening which is when its busiest especially Friday and Saturday as the outdoor scene in Westdale offers lots to do.

Lillian Maharaj: I have been craving Chinese food for a couple days now. I didn’t want the same old tasteless disappointing places, so I researched a ton of restaurants and ended up choosing Great Wall through Uber. The food arrived quickly and piping hot. I am so glad I chose this restaurant as it did not disappoint! Everything was fresh and plentiful. The rice had flavour, the Cantonese chow mein was on point and the deep fried chicken wings were all delicious. Luckily I had my own lemons as the wings didn’t come with a lemon wedge. Thanks Great Wall for a fantastic meal!

Robert Mulholland: but food was always good. The inside part of the restaurant to eat in is no longer available, just pickup and delivery. We we’re in the east end on this day, I personally think they make the best Won Ton soup I’ve had in this city. The King Kong egg rolls are huge and full of fillings, all other food is reasonably priced and always fresh. Battered items have a light batter, their chicken balls and breaded shrimp. Chow Mein is excellent as well, they have been located on Parkdale Avenue North for many years. They have a steady flow of returning customers as we witnessed picking up our order. The lady that works there is a very hard worker, and she told my wife she was happier now, that she didn’t have the extra stress of waiting on the tables plus handling all the take out orders and mounting the phones as well. My Won Ton Soup was 10/10 egg rolls same 10/10. Whenever we’re in that area and in the mood for Chinese Food, this is our place to go.

I was living in Cambridge, and it wouldn’t be unusual to see people we knew from Kitchener driving all the way there for the good food.Fast forward to last weekend. Brought the love of my life there for lunch. She is from Philippines, but has lived in Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong. She likes Iron Chef and says it is the authentic style from Hong Kong. Houseman from The Hammer: I've been going to Shanghai for well over 20 years. The food is always top quality and very consistent. The Chicken Balls are filled with a large amount of chicken breast meat so the meat to batter ratio is far better than most places. Even the Chow Mein and Rice dishes all have white chicken in them. I highly recommend the Soo Guy which is beautifully battered and deep fried chicken breasts. You can order it with sweet and sour, lemon, Shanghai special, mushroom and almond sauce. Another dish I highly recommend is the Beef with Mixed Vegetables. Their Spring Rolls are the best in the city. The rice paper after being filled with superb ingredients is then battered and deep fried. Super delicious. They have some really great combination plates that are a good bang for the buck. Their service is always fast and friendly. Check out Shanghai and I promise that you will not be disappointed.

Ada Bravo: Best chinese food we have had in years! The chicken balls had meat in them! Nice tender chicken, and not over battered. Very tastey. There was no oil flavor making everything taste the same, just the actual flavors of the dishes we ordered. This is the way Chinese food should taste! Jason: This restaurant has been a neighborhood staple. The food is made fresh to order, the vegetables are crispy, and always comes out piping hot. Pick-up service is fast and have always appreciated that my food comes out when they say it will be ready. I've tried other Chinese food restaurants, but we always come back to this one.

Marissa Kirou: Any time we're craving Chinese food. Amy's is our go to place. The Seafood Chow Mein is delicious. My 6 year old got it months ago and it's now my favourite dish. The chicken balls are PACKED with actual chicken vs other places it mostly breading. Spring rolls are also a must. I can see why it's such a popular place! Delivery was fast!

Our sweet/sour chicken had a slight soggy taste on the outside & unfortunately, I wasn't given the sweet/sour sauce to go with it. The environment was friendly & I would dine here again, hopefully next time without the noted mishaps.

I had been meaning to try this place out and I'm so glad I did. This had to be the best tasting Chinese food I've had in a long time. The price for the amount of food is amazing and the service is quick and so friendly. The man at the counter was so helpful as I wanted to make a change to one of their set combos more fitted to what I wanted. This will be my new go to Chinese food place.
