The Carlisle Retirement Residence: what do users think?

L A: Best staff ever

Barb Grice: The staff is outstanding, only wish my mother-in-law could have stayed there forever. The 2 months she stayed in transition, never a complaint! They made her feel welcomed from the very first day, never did the staff make her feel like they were being inconvenienced by her need, treated her with dignity.

Bev Morrison: Absolutely no complaints...my husband is s well cared for ... unfortunately it's only temporary until we find a permanent place.Wish he could stay permanently ..staff are great

Cheryl Stockman: This is a wonderful gem of a home in the heart of Hamilton. A very warm and caring staff who truly have the best interests of the residents heart. It is an exciting place to work right now as we are in the middle of renovations and it is going to be beautiful when complete.I am confident that when you step into our home you will feel the warmth from both staff and residents.

Cathy Donahue: The staff are warm and friendly! The residents are fabulous to work for. The Carlisle is currently under renovation -painting, new flooring, new furniture. It’s a great time to be a part of such a great home and a great team! Come and check us out in the heart of Hamilton!

Karin Turnbull: A warm inviting home in the middle of the City, lots of activities, staff were cheerful and importantly the residents were happy

Sandra Rutherford: I have visited my father there. He likes it the staff treat him very well. His room is clean and they try to be helpful even though he needs more nursing care they still take care of him.

The Village Of Wentworth Heights: what do users think?

Marcia Keen-Cole: I came to the Village as a student......I've been working here at the Village of Wentworth Heights for 18 years. We are a family at the Village. Our Village family is extremely loving and supportive of each other in so many ways to list.My life is truly blessed being at the Village🤗💛🙏🏽💞

S AT: We secured a spot for my brother in the LTC neighbourhood in May 2022. He is very happy and verbalized it just a few days ago.The leadership for the Rymal neighbourhood have been amazing not only helping to transition my brother into his new home but answering my questions as well.Thank you to everyone at WH for creating a welcoming home for my brother!

John wallace: I have lived here for going on. 3 years and I love it,all the staff are great meals are good rooms are spacious.

Barbara White: My mother in law is very happy here. The staff is very helpful and caring ❤

Joanne Ogilvie: My family was fortunate to be able to place our mother in a secure Special Care floor in LTC in May 2021. We are very pleased with her care from all the staff at the Village of Wentworth Heights. Thank you!

Kathy Della-Nebbia: I've had the privilege of interacting with some of the staff at The Village of Wentworth Heights for almost two years now as they develop the location. I am warmed by their care and compassion and dedication to their work. They clearly are drawn to what they do by the love of people and a deep caring for the Senior demographic. They are joyful, kind and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this stunning facility to anyone looking for a Seniors Residence.I want to add an update for December 2020. My aunt is currently living at VWH and the care and dedication of the staff is amazing! I feel so grateful to them and feel so comforted by the fact that they are working so hard to keep all of the residents safe during this crazy time. Not only are they concerned with their physical health they are also concerned with their state of mind and do everything they can to keep the residents happy and engaged. Thank you, thank you, thank you !! Now more than ever!

elsie bosma: Our mom lived here for a few years in assisted living. Wonderful caring staff. Always friendly. Very clean . Her room faced Rymal road so very sunny and bright

Doug Hatch: My wife and I moved into this village Dec 13 2016.Our decision to do sowas based on the ownership, staff, administration. The staff have always treated us with respect and are always friendly. We have good entertainment and lots of crafts and games to do.We have never been so happy and well cared for

Mohamed Amine Moujahid: Pleasant and respected placeAt its Eleventh Restaurant, you can enjoy variable dishes and enjoy the panoramic view of Rymal Road Fast, Upper Wentworth st and the 2 Elite dr

Carolyn Brown: My parents moved into one of the Villages in April of this year. Through out the experience of preparation and planning, the staff were friendly, helpful and available. When my sister and I spoke with several residents and asked them if they were happy living here, the answers were all yes.Over the past months, our parent's experience, now as residents, has continued to be a positive one. The staff still are friendly, helpful and available. There is a genuine effort to present interesting and tasty meals. There is much to do, if one wishes, but there is not pressure. The main floor 'Village' concept is unique and invitational and their apartment is cheerful and efficient. Much research was put into examining options, by both them and their children; this was the first choice.

Tony Ngo: I have been to a couple events at this location and it is very clean and organized. Staff is very friendly with the residents and there is a lot of attention to detail. Location is very new and well renovated.

Chartwell Deerview Crossing Retirement Residence: what do users think?

Rhonda Thomas: The food is homeade.By far the best than any otherHome. Amazing staff on all lvls of care.Independent and Memory care where ir.was my fathersNext step of care.I wish I had of put my momThere when she needed care.

Kelly Frapporti: The team at Chartwell were incredibly helpful in helping my mother transition to a retirement home setting. They made us all feel welcome from day one, and more importantly, they made my mom feel extremely comfortable. My mother loves the food, and enjoys the company of all of the other residents. She is like a new person since she moved in there. I cannot thank Frank and his team enough for everything they have done!

Jane Taylor: A beautiful place, with wonderful people!

Mark Moses: Deerview has been absolutely fantastic. All needs are met and the staff go above and beyond. Specifically, Christina has been outstanding and seems she cannot do enough for my mom. I would recommend Deerview to anyone that is looking for a home for a love one.

Heather Little: . He showed us and explained in detail every great part of their facility

Amanda Ilines: When I visited Deerview Crossing, the atmosphere when I walked in was amazing! I was greeted by a friendly concierge and there was music in the lobby. The most amazing part was seeing the caregivers dancing to the music with the residents. Everyone that works here is friendly and the residents are clearly very happy living here!

Noah Petsche: from our wonderful Lifestyle and Programs Manager Terri and good food provided by Chef Joan and the Dietary Team/Cooks like Myself. Michael the GM has been a wonderful GM and helps everyone stay safe during this tough Covid time. The managers/staff are really nice and willing to help any time. I may be a little biased but I highly recommend visiting this place and or having a loved one

Tori Fitz: My sister is a resident at Deerview Crossing. There are memory issues that apparently run in the family, regretfully she was afflicted earlier than most. She is very mobile but can't care for her own needs like preparing meals and taking her medication etc. She was welcomed at Deerview by a tremendous staff that started with the leadership in Michael and Frank. The everyday staff and those that are part of Esther's team are over the top. They interact with my sister continuously keeping her stimulated and engaged. They assist with regular "cell phone and TV issues" and have made her part of their team allowing her to help with social events, and encouraging her to motivate other residents.Administratively I get notices relating to residence issues including Covid procedures and changes to the standard operating procedures on a regular basis. Esther e-mails invoices several days ahead of the billing date, they are always complete and easy to read. All charges are clearly marked. The nursing staff are on the ball and give me plenty of notice when I need to bring in vitamins etc..... as well as monitoring any changes in my sister's condition. This review wouldn't be complete without mentioning the Head Chef Joan and her staff. The meals are tremendous and she runs a tight ship. Her attention to detail, her care and compassion for the residents is her passion. She runs many special events always with great treats.Given the circumstances Deerview has been a God send. I provide these comments to those now struggling with a difficult family decision, as we were.

Tammy Playter: As their produce supplier, I work very closely with Chartwell Deerview Crossing and their kitchen staff. Ensuring their residents receive Safe Quality Foods is always their number one priority! They support their local farmers by using seasonal fruits and vegetables whenever possible. I enjoy working with a team that takes such great pride in the food they serve!

Carolyn K: . She especially likes the musical performers they frequently bring in. The entire staff is amazing. They are all so caring and friendly. They are always available to answer any of my questions or update me on my mom’s day. I can not thank them enough for the wonderful care my mom receives. I am so thrilled and relieved that my mom lives there. I highly recommend this residence to anyone who is concerned about a loved one and wants the best care possible.

steven lehman: Chartwell Deerview has tremendous staff that keeps residents and their families happy. The safety and comfort of their residents is evident in their clean and well maintained facility. Highly recommended!

J L: This turned out to be the best place for my parents to land when looking for retirement living. After my dad died, my mom continued to live there. They managed her increasing dementia very patiently. Their help for and care of my mom is greatly appreciated.

Rhonda Scott: I would like to commend Terri Ryckman, Lifestyle and Programs Manager, for her tireless work in providing enriching, varied, and fun opportunities and experiences for the residents at Deerview Crossing. She does so much behind the scenes - whether it be organizing interest clubs, popcorn and a movie, puzzle and activity books, themed Happy Hours, fun games, live entertainment, special outings, or facilitating vendors Terri assures that there is something for everyone to participate in and enjoy. She adds special seasonal and holiday touches to beautifully decorate the residence. Terri produces a detailed monthly calendar of events as well as a much appreciated newsletter. More importantly, Terri is always ‘out on the floor’ interacting with the residents. She is kind, caring, compassionate, patient and has a great sense of humour. She knows each of the residents and their needs and adjusts her interactions accordingly. The residents adore her! On a personal note, I am grateful for the extra attention and “love” she shows my mom when my mom seems to need it the most. Thank you Terri for all you do for the residents and their families at Deerview Crossing. You truly make it great place to live!

Kim Goodwin: My best friends mother moved to Deerview over a yr ago, I've visited a few times now, even though it's been tricky with covid. I definitely enjoy how welcoming it feels there, between the decor and the fresh cut flowers, it most certainly makes a difference.I really wanted to comment on my one visit on remembrance day last year, it was amazing, we all enjoyed the performance from salvation army. Terri the lifestyle manager even talked with us afterwards, she definitely puts in a lot of effort to pull everything off at Deerview.I've also seen Terri dress up for Halloween too and everyone seems to enjoy her and the fun decorations , let's not forget about the baked goods or treats anytime I'm there

BZ: Our parents moved into Chartwell Deerview Crossing late last year. Between us siblings and our children, our parents have visitors everyday and we therefore witness the care and compassion they receive from staff members on a daily basis. Our Mom, who is 87 years old, has dementia and has plenty of help from PSW's and nurses who treat her with kindness. The serving staff are friendly and often ensure that when our Dad picks up dinner he receives exactly what he asks for. Joan, Head Chef, checks in on our parents if she hasn't seen them in a few days. All of the administrative staff greet visitors and residents with a smile and are eager to help in any way they can. On one occasion our Mom was in the hospital and our Dad, who is 95 years old, was distraught. Coretta, part of the Administrative Team, focused her attention on listening to him attentively and sincerely whenever he walked into the lobby. Michael, General Manager, is approachable and willing to listen to any and all of our concerns without hesitation. Frank, Retirement Living Consultant, made the transition from our parents' home to Chartwell Deerview Crossing as smooth as possible and treats them as if they were his own parents. Our family calls Christina, Manager of Health and Wellness, an angel sent from heaven. Our parents' needs change on a daily basis and Christina has gone above and beyond to accommodate them since day one. From ensuring they receive their lunch to being an advocate for our Mom while she was in the hospital, Christina continues to exceed our expectations every single day. She is a wealth of knowledge, has a caring heart and is empathetic to both residents and their family members.Every single person at Chartwell Deerview Crossing has helped improve our parents' quality of life and have maximized our peace of mind and for that, we will be forever grateful.

Donna MacIntyre: July, 2022 - We were invited to Stella's 99 birthday yesterday and dinner and the party in the small dinning room was fantastc. Joan has also arranged for fresh strawberries and local produce regularly. My Mother lives there and is working on the food committee to help get fresh food, specifically local fruit and vegetables so I will see how receptive Chartwell is to including these in the meals.

Joe C: Mr. Cumpstey,My name is Paula Garvin and my Mother is Maria Casale. A few weeks ago, my daughter and two grandsons came to visit my Mother. I should have sent you an email before today, but life gets in the way!I wanted to tell you how much I appreciated the kindness of Olivia who was at the door when we came to visit my mom. She was very cheerful and accommodating and made sure we followed all the protocols. In these difficult times it’s hard to keep a positive attitude. She was great. My family and I live near Ottawa, but my brother, Joe Casale keeps me informed as to the activities at Deerview. Hopefully I can get back there before Covid gets worse. Our experience in dealing with Michael Cumpstey have always been positive and we firmly believe he has been doing a great job in these trying times.Thank you for all you do. Keep safe!

Natasha Bagasar: I have been in search of care for my father and had no prior knowledge or understanding of retirement care and was feeling lost and frustrated. Then I communicated with a gentleman by the name of Frank Spagnuolo. Frank's level of customer service, compassion and understanding of both the industry and family needs exceeded any expectation of mine. He proactively reached out to me and answered my many questions and concerns. I honestly want to say that Frank's ability to communicate and assist families speaks volumes to the person he is. Deerview has a gem.

Meredith Campbell: Frank Spagnuolo and the team at Chartwell Deer Crossing have been so genuinely helpful, supportive and informative. My tour and experience with staff immediately gave me amazing hope in independent and assisted living. It also gave me great confidence my loved ones will be cared for like family here. It’s people like this that make the world a better and more loving place. I would recommend you consider this beautiful place for your loved ones when the time comes.

The Staff were very compassionate and kind towards my mother and went out of their way to make her comfortable. The doctor, nurses and support workers always listened to my concerns and showed they really cared about my mother. Their works of mercy will never be forgotten.Thank you and God bless all the staff of The Wellington.Kevin McTiernan

During the Pandemic..they protected Residents like they were their own Loved Ones...keeping their Spirits up with music dance and "Wacky Hair Days and posted regularly on Facebook. During the time when we were unable to visit..the staff made regular Skype calls for the Residents. The Wellington turned out to be the Best place for my Mother..she laughs and talks about staff like they are Family..if I could..I would give it more stars. Keep up the Great Work..you guys are the Best.

Queens Garden Long Term Care Residence: what do users think?

S O: Queens Garden was a great place for my Mom, age 93, who adapted fairly well after moving from her house in March 2018. She resided in the Dundurn Wing. Staff was always very friendly with her and family. As Mom’s health, mobility and cognition declined, staff adjusted quickly to her increasing support needs. Of all homes I visited on tours, Queens Garden was the most clean of them all. The food was excellent. Laundry done well. Bathrooms kept clean. Recreation and activity program were excellent. Mom participated in several of those from outings to parks, malls and gardens to bingo, music events, luncheons, birthday parties, and car rally at Queens Gardens.

Chelsea Mackinnon: I love Queens Garden! I've visited a handful of times and am always greeted by the staff and residents! I sometimes play music with the residents and they always enjoy it and it's so great to see their smiling faces! I look forward to being able to visit again ASAP!!

Brad Haalboom: I've visited Queens Garden a number of times and it's always been a great experience. The staff is very kind, the volunteers were awesome, and I got to make some very special connections with a number of residents. Always a fun time when I come by!

Toni Iduciano: While our mother was at Queens Garden she was treated with kindness and respect as well as being well taken care of. My sister and I would vist daily and the staff were always pleasant and greeted us with a friendly hello and a smile.

Frances Iduciano: My mothers care was first rate. All her needs were met. We visited every day and were greeted with smiles and respect.

Gianna Piazza: My grandmother spent close to a decade in this nursing home and from the day she moved in, she was treated with love and compassion. The staff always welcomed our family and showed us the upmost respect. I would highly recommend Queens Garden to anyone needing to place a loved one in a nursing home.

Margaret MacNaughton: My Mother was a resident of Queens Gardens for 5 years. Before she entered their care, I did extensive research on Ministry sites and asked many questions on my tours of potential homes. The staff were friendly and treated my Mom with the utmost respect and care ensuring she was safe from wandering and falls. My concerns were dealt with quickly and professionally. When staff had concerns, or anecdotes I was notified in a timely manner. We were treated like family, and I felt that my Mom was loved by the staff. I will always have gratitude for the care and love my Mom received as she lived out her final days.

Rebecca Isowa: In August 2018 our family won the long term care lottery when our Dad, Gene, was assigned to Queen’s Garden. There are no words to describe the dedication, professionalism and loving care provided by the incredible staff at Queen’s Garden and the Angel Heroes on his wing, Westdale. Sadly, we lost our Dad a few weeks ago. However from the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone at Queen’s Garden - you were his extended family the whole time he lived with you but even more critically when we could only be his family on the other side of the glass. Thank you ❤️

Cheryll Winters: for everything they did for my husband and for me.

Pia Zaccaria: It’s difficult to find the words to express my gratitude for the care and compassion given to my father duringthe 5yrs he lived at Queens Garden. My father had Alzheimer’s, the Dundurn staff provided him a safe, friendly, clean environment which was his home. It gave my mother and I peace of mind knowing his needs were met with dignity, whether dietary, hygiene or health concerns. The Queen Garden staff always addressed my concerns or questions in a professional and timely manor. My father passed almost 3yrs now, in my heart the staff are my extended family and truly appreciate the patience and care he received. I’m a retired RN and can honestly say Queens Garden is a cut above in the quality of care they give seniors.

Tracey Brailsford: My experience at Queens Garden is as a volunteer for special events. The relationships between the staff and residents that I’ve witnessed is remarkable. They are family. Residents are treated with love and respect, and their physical and emotional well-being is always the priority. Accommodations are made wherever possible to help residents feel comfortable and happy. As well, they are stimulated, appreciated, and entertained by innovative programming that is delivered by fantastic staff. I admire the caregivers here more than I can say.

Pat Gillespie: We are so pleased with the care our sister receives at Queen's Gardens. Her health journey has been very difficult, with a diagnosis of MS robbing her of the average life most of us take for granted. To know that she is well cared for has really lifted a lot of stress from our family. The staff make a real effort to improve her quality of life. You can see they really do care.

John Atkinson: In March 2019 my daughters and I were fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer at Queens Gardens with our dog. It started as a result of wanting to share our very loving, calm and gentle dog with others who didn't have the opportunity to live with a pet and who might find joy and healing in a connection with him. Every weekend we would visit and make our way through hallways and into rooms. We were welcomed by staff and residents with open arms and it was a joy to wander through such a comfortable, clean and bright place where so many seniors have found their final home. Our pup certainly brought a lot of smiles and happiness to the residents but what we immediately found was joy, happiness and connection with the most amazing people on earth. We have grown a strong bond with so many residents and it has been one of the greatest gifts for my young daughters to build relationships across generations and witness and experience love, care and compassion for seniors and those no longer able to live independently. We miss going in to their home so much and long for a safe return but video visits continue and their are lots of kisses/licks on both sides of the screen.

Sylvie Gionet: When I walked into Queens Garden, it was now my parents' home. I loved the ambiance and the friendly staff who ended up becoming my extended family. My parents lived in Queens for many years and loved it. A big shout out to the Jamesville staff and Westdale staff. Your professionalism, kind, and caring manor was much appreciated. My mother loved the bingo games, the bazaars, baking, making jewelry, Casino trips, restaurant outings, boat cruise, exercise programs and especially the Christmas party. My father had Alzheimers. But that didn’t stop him from going to pub night and singing karaoke. He also went on fishing trips to fifty point with his son-in-law and the Queens recreation team. We could have a beautiful Christmas dinner at Queens Garden with him. My mother loved that. I love to support the resident council with attending the bazaars and making purchases and always will. Thank you for being a part of my parents' lives.

Avril Dureault: Wonderful caring staff. We have experienced other ltc homes. And Queens Garden is by far over and above when it comes to the care of their Residents.
