Kevin McTiernan: My Mother lived at the Wellington for the past 6 years. She died peacefully on Dec. 2. The Staff were very compassionate and kind towards my mother and went out of their way to make her comfortable. Every time I visited different staff would say they went to see my mother and some even sang a song for her. The doctor, nurses and support workers always listened to my concerns and showed they really cared about my mother. During the Pandemic..they protected Residents like they were their own Loved Ones...keeping their Spirits up with music dance and "Wacky Hair Days and posted regularly on Facebook. During the time when we were unable to visit..the staff made regular Skype calls for the Residents.The Wellington turned out to be the Best place for my Mother..she laughs and talks about staff like they are Family..if I could..I would give it more stars. S O: Queens Garden was a great place for my Mom, age 93, who adapted fairly well after moving from her house in March 2018. She resided in the Dundurn Wing. Staff was always very friendly with her and family. As Mom’s health, mobility and cognition declined, staff adjusted quickly to her increasing support needs. Of all homes I visited on tours, Queens Garden was the most clean of them all. The food was excellent. Laundry done well. Bathrooms kept clean. Recreation and activity program were excellent. Mom participated in several of those from outings to parks, malls and gardens to bingo, music events, luncheons, birthday parties, and car rally at Queens Gardens.

Before she entered their care, I did extensive research on Ministry sites and asked many questions on my tours of potential homes.The staff were friendly and treated my Mom with the utmost respect and care ensuring she was safe from wandering and falls. My concerns were dealt with quickly and professionally. When staff had concerns, or anecdotes I was notified in a timely manner.We were treated like family, and I felt that my Mom was loved by the staff. I will always have gratitude for the care and love my Mom received as she lived out her final days.

There are no words to describe the dedication, professionalism and loving care provided by the incredible staff at Queen’s Garden and the Angel Heroes on his wing, Westdale. Sadly, we lost our Dad a few weeks ago. However from the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone at Queen’s Garden - you were his extended family the whole time he lived with you but even more critically when we could only be his family on the other side of the glass. My father had Alzheimer’s, the Dundurn staff provided him a safe, friendly, clean environment which was his home. It gave my mother and I peace of mind knowing his needs were met with dignity, whether dietary, hygiene or health concerns.The Queen Garden staff always addressed my concerns or questions in a professional and timely manor.My father passed almost 3yrs now, in my heart the staff are my extended family and truly appreciate the patience and care he received. I’m a retired RN and can honestly say Queens Garden is a cut above in the quality of care they give seniors.
Tracey Brailsford: My experience at Queens Garden is as a volunteer for special events. The relationships between the staff and residents that I’ve witnessed is remarkable. They are family. Residents are treated with love and respect, and their physical and emotional well-being is always the priority. Accommodations are made wherever possible to help residents feel comfortable and happy. As well, they are stimulated, appreciated, and entertained by innovative programming that is delivered by fantastic staff. I admire the caregivers here more than I can say.

Her health journey has been very difficult, with a diagnosis of MS robbing her of the average life most of us take for granted. To know that she is well cared for has really lifted a lot of stress from our family. The staff make a real effort to improve her quality of life. You can see they really do care.
John Atkinson: In March 2019 my daughters and I were fortunate to have the opportunity to volunteer at Queens Gardens with our dog. It started as a result of wanting to share our very loving, calm and gentle dog with others who didn't have the opportunity to live with a pet and who might find joy and healing in a connection with him. Every weekend we would visit and make our way through hallways and into rooms. We were welcomed by staff and residents with open arms and it was a joy to wander through such a comfortable, clean and bright place where so many seniors have found their final home. Our pup certainly brought a lot of smiles and happiness to the residents but what we immediately found was joy, happiness and connection with the most amazing people on earth. We have grown a strong bond with so many residents and it has been one of the greatest gifts for my young daughters to build relationships across generations and witness and experience love, care and compassion for seniors and those no longer able to live independently. We miss going in to their home so much and long for a safe return but video visits continue and their are lots of kisses/licks on both sides of the screen.
Sylvie Gionet: When I walked into Queens Garden, it was now my parents' home. I loved the ambiance and the friendly staff who ended up becoming my extended family. My parents lived in Queens for many years and loved it. A big shout out to the Jamesville staff and Westdale staff. Your professionalism, kind, and caring manor was much appreciated. My mother loved the bingo games, the bazaars, baking, making jewelry, Casino trips, restaurant outings, boat cruise, exercise programs and especially the Christmas party. My father had Alzheimers. But that didn’t stop him from going to pub night and singing karaoke. He also went on fishing trips to fifty point with his son-in-law and the Queens recreation team. We could have a beautiful Christmas dinner at Queens Garden with him. My mother loved that. I love to support the resident council with attending the bazaars and making purchases and always will. Thank you for being a part of my parents' lives.

C C: Home Instead coordinator Gabriela came to my rescue after I had a spinal injury which left me with mobility issues and other impairments. She was unhurried during her assessment, spending time learning about my routines and able to help with tasks other agencies I had involved don’t do, and the resulting match was perfect. I needed no other service provider. My caregiver Judy had just the right amount of positive energy and a calm reassuring can-do attitude. My body and mind relaxed into her gentle and efficient care. She made me and my home comfortable and ran it effectively. Judy did what my limitations did not allow me to do. And I’m so grateful to Home Instead, including Gabriela, Barry and Caroline who were so compassionate and responsive to my questions, and communicated concisely and considerately. I’m doing a bit more now, and no longer need the intensive assistance, but I do miss Judy and everyone at the office. I couldn’t recommend Home Instead more highly!
Bill J: I was referred to Home Instead by the LTC home my Dad is in. I was looking for a PSW to escort my Dad to my wedding in another city more than an hour away. In one phone call the basics were setup. They also took over booking the transportation. After a few emails and phone calls every thing was taken care of. Nothing to worry about or coordinate, they took ownership of it. It was one less thing I had to worry about on our wedding day. So many people were happy to see my Dad and it meant the world to me! Barb Grice: The staff is outstanding, only wish my mother-in-law could have stayed there forever. The 2 months she stayed in transition, never a complaint! They made her feel welcomed from the very first day, never did the staff make her feel like they were being inconvenienced by her need, treated her with dignity.

My aunt is currently living at VWH and the care and dedication of the staff is amazing! I feel so grateful to them and feel so comforted by the fact that they are working so hard to keep all of the residents safe during this crazy time. Not only are they concerned with their physical health they are also concerned with their state of mind and do everything they can to keep the residents happy and engaged. Carolyn Brown: My parents moved into one of the Villages in April of this year. Through out the experience of preparation and planning, the staff were friendly, helpful and available. When my sister and I spoke with several residents and asked them if they were happy living here, the answers were all yes.Over the past months, our parent's experience, now as residents, has continued to be a positive one. The staff still are friendly, helpful and available. There is a genuine effort to present interesting and tasty meals. There is much to do, if one wishes, but there is not pressure. The main floor 'Village' concept is unique and invitational and their apartment is cheerful and efficient. Much research was put into examining options, by both them and their children; this was the first choice.

Helena Marinc: We moved our mother 2 days ago into Regina gardens. The staff was super helpful, very nice and friendly. The gentleman Alex seems to do everything from moving in furniture and setting it up, lifting our mother, fixing the bed, cleaning the bathroom, very helpful and very hardworking thank you so much! we really appreciate it. We have great hope that our mother is going to recover from her long stay in the hospital here.
ornella palermo: My sister chose Regina Gardens as one of her three top choices for my mother and I am so thankful that Regina Gardens was her place of residence until her passing. My mother went to Regina Gardens because of her dementia. I cannot say enough of how well she was taken care of by all involved with Regina Gardens. I am so thankful that my mother spend her last years in the loving care of the staff at Regina Gardens. I live in Florida and would come back home to Hamilton regularly. I would go visit my mother everyday that I was home for my visit and every time I would go there I witnessed the care and compassion. I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am and blessed that God lead my mother to Regina Gardens for the last and most difficult years of her life.My mother passed away on April 26th of this year. The staff are friendly and helpful and although COVID-19 has presented visitation challenges, we take great comfort in knowing that he is happy and well taken care of.Kudos to all involved for making RG such a welcoming and safe environment!

They maintain good communication with me regarding my mother in law and always call to let me know if there are any issues or problems , or if she needs anything, no matter how small.I appreciate this good communication.During this period of isolation for seniors the staff has facilitated my mother in law’s communication with family members through face time on the Ipad and she enjoys this very much.Regina Gardens continues to take every precaution to protect their residents and keep them safe during the pandemic.

Mario Tcheon: This was our family's first experience with a nursing home. The circumstances why we had to place my aging mother there were/are heartbreaking. However the staff, PSW's and nurses are very empathetic, patient and understanding on the difficult process it is for their loved ones of caring for not only my mother, but all the residents in Regina Gardens. Aimee Phair: My experience with Bayshore Home Health has been nothing short of a positive one during a very tumultuous time. The Hamilton team is exceptional. Aside from the incredible support, the team is so compassionate. This was the first time I have had to navigate private support. The team helped to walk me through the support required for our family and moved at incredible speeds to facilitate our needs. The team was in constant communication, which was very comforting to me as I felt they were there through each step - from the setting up of the care we needed to checking in on us consistently. It goes without saying the support has been outstanding. Furthermore, the team worked with us and helped facilitate changes when unforeseeable health issues arose.With respects to the hands-on support we needed, the team has been dependable, diligent, caring, and punctual. The support of both the RN’s and PSW have been critical lifelines for our family. During a very emotional time for myself and my family, the team at Bayshore has made it much more manageable with their due diligence, compassion, and a reminder that we are all people and deserve the utmost compassion of care. A special shoutout to Abbey and Monica as well as Cora and Dorie – all of whom are exceptional and integral to the team - myself and my family are incredibly grateful for the work you do!
Adam Greenberg: Bayshore provided excellent care my father. The administration was fast and efficient with very reasonable rates and they were incredibly responsive. The care itself was excellent. The PSW was kind, caring, compassionate and confident. Having Bayshore provided our family with the peace of mind we needed at such a critical time.

Andrea McCabe: My 94 year old mother's health quickly deteriorated after a toe amputation in the middle of the COVID crisis. I didn't sleep more than 2.5 hours straight in a 10 day period. Her care was overwhelming.I reached out to Bayshore and was blessed to speak with Jacqueline. Her compassionate care and active listening skills put me at ease immediately. She helped me get started with an 8 hour PSW, which ended up turning into 12 hours overnight.Eventually, my mom ended up in the hospital. It was no issue to stop and restart the service. Every time I called the office, I was met with superior care and knowledge.Thankfully, my mom is back to relative independence and we no longer need the service. I realize this may not last, but wouldn't hesitate to choose Bayshore again. The PSWs were off the charts amazing - professional, attentive, and compassionate.The cost may be prohibitive for some people long term, but being able to keep a loved one at home during a pandemic is priceless.Andrea M.
