Normand's Restaurant: what do users think?

Ross Wright: This wonderful restaurant just keeps getting better with age. The front of house staff and the kitchen staff are incredible. The food is unbelievable, every time! And the namesake? Well Normand is an incredible restaurateur and his restaurant is a true gem!

Marla Bosse: Keep doin what you are doin Normands! See you again soon!

Brendan Eikeland: The food is ALWAYS top-notch ! The service is amazing... probably very easily the best place to eat in edmontonYou WILL NOT leave disappointed!Parking: It's normally pretty easy to find parking but when it's not .... ITS NOT

Melanie COULSON: and my parents had the escargot. Both were incredible, and the carpacio in particular paired very well with our wine. For an entree I had the wild game feature dish which included elk and boar. YUM! And for dessert I had the bananas flambee which was phenomenal. This was our first time here and it will certainly not be our last! There were so many delicious sounding entrees that I am eager to try. If you are planning a nice dinner you should visit Normand's!Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for a gluten free diet!

Dale Hildebrand: We have been dining with Normand for 34 years. Recently he hosted grandpa’s 90th. He personally looked after 16 of us all night. Service and food were excellent. So rare to have such great personalized customer service. One of the best restaurants in Edmonton – a hidden gem – try them.

Highlevel Diner: what do users think?

Flairs Warss: Very friendly servers, the Spice Bird Chicken burger was delicious the portion size was very justifiable for the price the two chicken breasts made the dinner filling, with the house fries to go along with made the meal perfect. Loved the fish n chips as well.Parking: The parking across the diner is free and reserved only for the diner customers.

P Howard: This Diner has that perfect cute and classic feel but without any of the grime that usually comes along with most Diners. It's a beautiful little spot in the Garneau area that really helps complement the neighboorhood. For a Diner, I'd have to say this place likely has the most interesting menu in the city... And everything on it is beyond delicious! Though I can imagine picky and non adventurous eaters finding this menu too unique and not traditional enough. But that is the best thing about the food here, it's so yummy and interesting for a Diner! They even have their own artisan made house ketchup!Lastly, but most importantly, the service and staff are super sincerely friendly, efficient, and attentive. This place has become my favorite Diner in the city... it is hard for me to believe there can be a better Diner around here.I HIGHLY recommend checking this establishment out! 👍👍Parking: There is a free parking lot across the avenue from the Diner, but you HAVE to sign in your license plate # in a book within the entrance of the Diner.

The Butternut Tree: what do users think?

Steve McNeil: , the main was a choice from a Duo of Alberta beef , braised beef short rib and beef strip loin with potato pave and oyster mushroom , or roasted halibut wild rice confit shallots pistou. The dessert obviously was wedding cake but with a twist it was banana Nutella pretzel , and it was also lavender lemon blueberry on 2 separate levels Phenomenal. We ended the night with dancing and a late night snack .I would like to say that the whole day was thoroughly enjoyable and was made so by the Butternut Tree management and staff . Completely professional and should be commended for the way they do things and I would fully recommend them for any function .To Chef Scott I like your style and the way that all of your recipes compliment each other fantastic job I tip my hat to you 🙇‍♂️.Vegetarian options: I would like to say that I didn’t partake in the vegan options but someone at my table did and it had me wanting to try it even though I had no idea what it was lol. They looked amazing and had me wanting to try them

Stephanie Gruhle: This is one of our favorite places to go for Dinner / Date Night. We love it so much that we had our wedding in July at this venue. The food is incredible, the service is outstanding. I could not be happier with their Wedding Packages / Event coordination. I am so thankful that we found this place based on a recommendation from a friend.Thank you Samantha for making our Wedding Day smooth and being so thoughtful throughout the process. I truly appreciate all the details and coordinating that you did!

Sheida Noroozi: . Despite the restaurant not being busy, there was a long wait for our dishes to arrive. The brunch menu doesn't offer dessert or a sweet option. We had previously gotten the cheese board but that was unavailable this last time.I've revised my rating as a result.-----Great location overlooking the Constable Ezio Faraone Park with views of the Alberta Legislature Building.Brunch is excellent! Highly recommend the Fjord Toast and the cheese board

martha mena: Vegetarian options: GoodAtmosphere: 5/5 …

Sherri & Philip Cooper: We were treated very special for our anniversary dinner! Our server, Matt, knew when and when not to come by our table. They locally source most of their menu items! Beef tartare on sourdough and ahi tuna to start. Flavour explosions. They accommodated us by putting the avocado on the side for allergy reasons. We had the caviar plate next. Wow! Sustainably sourced and so delicious! Main courses were lamb and salmon with a side of pork belly. The salmon with the dill sauce paired perfectly and the rice side was such a great combo of citrus, tomato and leek. The lamb with meatballs was so tender with an incredible tomato jam that I have never tasted before! I need to buy that! The pork belly was cooked so well. Crisp and tender at the same time. For dessert, the vanilla panna cotta was a nice light finish. The chocolate cake was a bit harder than we expected while the mousse on top was a delicious crusted caramel. And we took home two macaroons! We had wines to go with every course and were not disappointed in choices recommended by Matt. Chef Scott came at the end to say hello and congratulate us on our anniversary. We had a nice chat learning about the restaurant. What a great fine dining experience! Highly recommended!

Greg Pang: Thoroughly enjoyed their tasting menu with the wine pairing. Excellent food with friendly and helpful staff. Tip: get a window seat because along with an great dining experience, you can enjoy the view, people and trolley watch at the same time.. except in the winter.

Eilatan April: Our group of 12 came in for a birthday dinner April 28th. Our server was Matt and we was an absolute beauty. Very knowledgeable, friendly and patient with our group. Servers like Matt leave a lasting impression on the restaurant. His passion for his job was not unnoticed. Lastly, the meals we received were amazing and we will be back very soon.

Ian C: Enjoyed the banksy/Warhol exhibit!

Kim: Nice facility but lacking in terms of volume, it's rather small and modest.Depends on the exhibits they have on display when you go and if your interest in them. It is currently Pop Art like Andy Warhol and Banksy and such. This was great and the galleries are clean and very cleanly laid out. It isn't huge in terms of volume as it seems most of it is on loan from a single private collector. The other galleries, especially the third floor video galleries are VERY avant garde and takes a particular mindset to interpret, which I do not possess, humbly speaking. The bottom floor exhibition was closed when I went so there wasn't too much to see.

jf paquette: Beautiful pieces of work to be seen, and the music gallery was interesting. 3 floors of beautiful art work. They were hosting the indigenous artists market, at the same time as my visit which in itself was interesting to see, all the traditional art and items they make.Definitely would go back, especially if the market is there again.

Kendelle Marr: Love the AGA! Recently saw the Pop Art exhibition with Warhol, Lichtenstein, Banksy, etc. Amazing! Plus, the architecture is wonderful.

Taruni Tyagi: The experience was different.... contemporary art is beautiful here...gallery is not as big as the art gallery of Ontario and has less of the traditional oil paintings etc.but is definitely a breath of fresh air with more current work on display... building architecture is intriguingVisited on Weekday Wait time No wait …

Mali Rabinovich: Great exhibition from Warhol to Banksy!!! Love it a lot

Continental Treat Fine Bistro Gluten Free- Jasper Ave: what do users think?

Ben West: A very calm, intimate atmosphere, nice and quiet great for a date night. Menu has lots of interesting options you won’t see many other places, but a few more common staples if you’re not feeling adventurous. Been a couple times now and haven’t tried anything I didn’t like. Try the dill pickle soup! Trust me. Staff are accommodating and friendly. The parking out front on Jasper is only $1.00/hour.Dietary restrictions: Look it up to double check because this doesn’t effect me, but my understanding is they’re gluten free as well which is awesome!

Evelyn Neame: , the perogie medley and the Camembert. I loved that I could have a ton of tasty appies for the price of a main course. The restaurant was quiet and the service excellent! I highly recommend the Continental Treat Jasper Avenue!

Sean Watt: I have been a loyal customer for years but had only just recently ventured to their new location. Both are wonderful but the downtown location really has a lot to offer. Try them both!Parking: I parked right out front, but this is very limited.

Rene Carlos: which was outstanding; the dill pickle soup, perogies were the standouts for me. We also tried the chicken stroganoff not pictured but i can say it was delicious and fresh. Out of the perogies the mushroom spinach was absolutely delicious. We ordered a lot for two people and i was excited to try this place out. Dill pickle soup, smoked salmon, garlic shrimp, escargot, perogies ,chicken stroganoff, black forest cake and tiramisu. We wanted to try the rack of lamb, unfortunately it wasnt available that day.Last time i was in the space it was the hardware grill circa 2005/2006 ish; and the decor was nice and private. I will be back solely for the soup and perogies in the future.Kid-friendliness: private big booths could seat large familiesParking: parking on the street

Claire Barton: We were in town from Toronto to visit dear friends. They took us to Continental Treat for dinner. We were blown away. Dinner was absolutely amazing. I had the French Onion Soup and the Chicken Schnitzel. Every bite was delicious. We finished with the dessert Pierogies. The service was equally as wonderful. It's been a few weeks, and we are still raving about it. We can't wait to come back.Dietary restrictions: Definitely a must visit if you are gluten-free. If you're not, then you're in for a real treat.

B Berg: Went for lunch. Staff were attentive to our needs. Food was fabulous as always. I love this place on Jasper Ave.Wheelchair accessibility: Wide entrance, tables are far enough apart for wheelchair accessibility.Dietary restrictions: This is a glueten free restaurant. This gluten free food tasted this wonderful, taste is exceptional. Their huge desserts, yes all gluten free delicious!

Matt Lemke: This place has amazing food, service, and atmosphere. The perogies are very good. The schnitzel was crispy and served with a delicious gravy. The attention to detail on all aspects of service and quality are not to be overlooked. The Belgian beers are obviously curated and the wine selection will not disappoint. Come visit, you will be pleased.

YEG.SELLS Edmonton: Delicious food, wine, excellent staff with a clean posh environment - but desert isn’t their specialty. I ordered the deep fried strawberry Nutella perogies, but they weren’t fried and reminded me of my toddler days when I ate play dough. Just don’t order dessert but definitely do dinner here - you won’t regret it!!!!

Tharun Bangera: I thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and the attentive service during my visit. However, I found the pricing of the food to be disproportionate to the quality offered. Additionally, the tiramisu dessert was quite underwhelming, as it lacked the expected smooth and airy texture. Instead, it appeared dry and overly sweet, resembling more of a cake than an authentic tiramisu.

Leanne Stein: Indeed, it's a lovely spot for date night! And my go-to spot for a quick lunch with a friend to catch up 🐦🌻Parking: We paid $3.50 street parking

OTTO Food & Drink: what do users think?

Ario Magana: Came here for food and drinks with the family. The food was amazing and tasty but for 11.50$ for just a sausage was a little concerning for me. I thought maybe it wouldve atleast came with a bun! But overall the food was actually reallt good. They got busy so maybe thats why service was a little slow. Ide also reccomend some A.C but i had a great time and plan on coming back! Cheers!

T T: . Sausage was unique. Mac and Cheese was pretty good. Best dish we tried was the brussel sprouts. The pickles were absolutely delightful. I think they must make them in house. I think they're half sour dills. They have that pleasant lactofermented funk.Wouldn't make a trip to the area just for this restaurant, but would come again given the opportunity if I was in the area.Edit -I re-read my review after owner commented. I don't think 3 stars was fair for food when compared to other local offerings. My visit was pleasant, and they do offer something that other places do not. I Upped food to 4 stars.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Low key environment. They have high chairs.Parking: Street parking only. Fills up fast.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs to get into the restaurant. Would be reasonably easy to get inside with a chair.

Thomas Borreson: , and what's perhaps the best schnitzel I've had in Edmonton. Sides are things like pretzels, sauerkraut, pickles, salads, fries and roasted Brussels sprouts. There are also many vegetarian options, including sausages. And, they have a rather diverse drink selection with a good range of craft beers, cocktails, wine and non-alcoholic beverages.Despite being located where I'd never expect a restaurant to be, it's really charming. OTTO is a great place to go with a group, and loading up a board with shareable stuff. It's especially good in the summer, because instead of a mere patio they have a rather remarkable garden which is just a lovely place to spend the warmer weather, and it certainly seems to be popular with locals. The bicycle logo is quite apt, because reaching Otto is actually a fairly nice ride thanks to 114 Avenue's counterflow bike lane. We went up 92 Street from the LRT multi-use path, riding along calm, tree-lined streets. Apparently improvements are coming to the segment from the MUP to 112 Ave as part of the Boyle Street neighbourhood revitalization.Everything about the place is just so well-considered. I just wish they had brunch.

Ceara Crawford: Otto has been a long time favourite of mine for a quick evening drink. Sitting in garden is a must for your YEG summer bucketlist! Also, best fries in the city by FAR but beware they are not gluten free. If they were, I'd never leave.Kid-friendliness: They love kids here!! And the style of dining works well for kiddoes. Plus, kid friendly dishes for picky eaters.Dietary restrictions: Not great for gluten free. You can eat sausage, coleslaw, and sometimes dessert. Servers aren't confident in answering dietary questions.

Smokey Bear YEG: what do users think?

Emil Yim: Smokey Bear YEG continues to be a beacon of culinary excellence, with its latest offerings further solidifying its reputation. A revisit to this establishment was met with anticipation, given the previous delightful experience of the salmon and the impressively cooked pork chop over an open fire. This time, the Broek Acre Pork Belly stood out as a testament to patience and skill. Slow-cooked to perfection, it's a dish that demands early ordering and unhurried savoring. The Beef Tartare, robust and flavorful, beckons for extra bread - a pairing too good to be limited. The Grilled Halloumi, with its harmonious juxtaposition of grilled mangos and chili oil, was a dance of flavors, while the Grilled 5th Gen Veggies, though slightly dominant in mustard, found a balance when paired with the spicy Halloumi. The meal concluded with a Chocolate mousse, a light, airy finale that left a lasting impression. The ambiance remains a highlight, with its cozy, dimly lit setting and the mesmerizing open kitchen where everything is artfully prepared over an open wood fire. The service, as before, is impeccable. The dedication to hospitality is evident, with attentive staff ensuring a seamless dining experience. In the realm of gastronomy, Smokey Bear YEG continues to set the bar high, offering a symphony of flavors that resonates with both the discerning palate and the heart.Parking: Anticipate downtown parking. May need to park and walk

Jenn F: Great meal at this place. Loved the tartar and the dessert!

Garrett McKeeman: I recently had the pleasure of dining at Smokey Bear in Edmonton, Alberta, and I must say, it was hands down the best meal I've had in the city so far.The Grilled Flatbread was a standout, with its delicious flavors and perfectly crispy crust. And the Atlantic Salmon Rillette completely changed my opinion on salmon - I never knew it could taste this good! The Grilled Halloumi was another winner, with its rich flavor that paired perfectly with the tangy pickled tomatoes and spicy chili oil. The Cortes Oysters were a pleasant surprise as well - I'd never tried oysters before, but these were absolutely delicious. While the Humpback Shrimp was my least favorite dish of the night, it was still quite good, with a nice balance of sweetness and saltiness from the fermented strawberries. But the King Oyster Mushroom was a real showstopper - the smoky flavor was incredible! The Charcoal Chicken was hands down the best chicken I've ever had - juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. And the Beef Short Rib was equally amazing, with tender meat that fell right off the bone.Overall, I highly recommend Smokey Bear to anyone visiting Edmonton. The food is truly exceptional, and the experience is one that should not be missed.

Christa Owsley: Never had a better yam in my life. Short ribs were amazing too.

Ezra Aleba: Such an incredible spot. I had the grilled flatbread and it was the best I have ever had! The service that I received from Nico was next level. Very attentive and ensures that your experience is as good as it can be! Hands down this is an exceptional spot!

Matts Marshall: We had a phenomenal experience the food and service was 10/10 Niko did such amazing job, I've truely never had better service anywhere. Thanks so much can't wait to come back!
