The owners were so friendly and their mom came out and gave us complimentary borscht. It was absolutely delicious! I recommend this place to all my family and friends!

Louanne Dal Bello: I used to live in Edmonton and my friends and I were talking about our favourite restaurants. When I brought up Shumka, everyone agreed! I lived on Jasper Ave and had to take 3 buses to get there, but it was well worth it. Now I live in the US and it would be several more buses I'd have to take, but I'll tell ya what: it would be worth it. The food is delicious, abundant and fresh. Someone is using their Baba's recipes and it shows.

Diana Young: Authentic, friendly and the selections are spot on! The Jalapeño Cheddar smokies are the perfect blend of spices to cheese. The cheddar/sausage perogies are top shelf. I prefer sweet cabbage rolls and theirs really are second to none. Staff is helpful and go out of their way for their customers.

Jessalyn Curry: My family has been getting our kuby, pepperoni, etc at Widynowski’s since I was a child and is a favourite in my home today, with my kids insisting they tag along every time, often digging in on the drive home. The pampushky bring me back to sweet memories at Baba’s house, and the kuby is a must have at our family gatherings. They are always friendly and today even sent my little one home with a pepperoni for the road.
