The shredder sends the ferrous to a steel mill in Canada to be re- purposed into materials supporting the Canadian natural resources, construction, and transportation industries.

If you are looking for a clean organized shop with shiny happy staff, you're looking in the wrong place. This is an old school "junkyard" with all the ambiance that entails. Only thing missing is a ferocious junk yard dog on a chain. People describe the owner as rude. That is not accurate, more like he doesn't suffer fools gladly and he gives has good as he gets. I am polite and to the point, he is too. All my transactions have been just fine, I ask if he has an item, he does or he doesn't and that's it. Prices are always good, I always pay cash and never had a problem with warranty.
