Preservation Hall Eatery + Wine Bar: what do users think?

Brad Rich: Terrific burger week burger!Popped in at noon today and we were in a little bit of a rush and Preservation Hall was able to accommodate us and we were out by 12:50 - much appreciated! I really enjoyed a couple of the Kilter New England IPAs on tap. All 4 of us had the exceptional “Burger Week” burger, fries are outstanding and the house made bread is simply spectacular.

Arlene Ebora: Lovely food and service for us first time diners. Greeted pleasantly at the door, starter bread served, drinks came on time, starters followed, and then entrees came on time. We ordered butter lettuce salad, beef tartare, duck confit and buttermilk fried chicken. Water got filled the whole time. To-go box packed for us. It was flawless service and a perfect Friday night.Thank you.

sylvie landry: The drink was good. The food menu was amazing, we did not know what to choose at all

Justin Ness: First time going to this place. To start there was lots of parking; there should be no issues with that. The inside is very open and they have the option of eating inside or on the patio. Service was really good. The gentlemen that served us was pouring drinks and very attentive and patient throughout the whole sitting. I got the escargot for an appetizer which was really good. They also brought out some bread that according to the waiter was made in house and they seem to change up the type of bread as the couple that we went with noticed it was different bread. My partner got the fish and chips and said the bater was a little soft but other than that was quite good. I got the brisket which was glazed with a peach bourbon sauce and that was really nice. The price of the products is a little high but this is a “fancy place”. Probably a tier under the keg I would say. Overall would probably dine here again and a good first experience. Check it out for yourselves!Parking: In a plaza of restaurants so there’s plenty of parking.

T Eu: We came for oyster night which was well worth it on its own. We were able to come in as a walk in but make sure you do a reservation cause it does get packed on Wednesday for this special. We ordered 1/2 a charcuterie board and cheese, sous vide buttermilk fried chicken, avacado dip and all comes with house bread. The chocolate mousse was great! Lots of parking and family friendly.Vegetarian options: Not a set menu for vegetarians but customizable and there are some options. We ordered the avacado dip and it was ok but the pita that came with was great.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly restaurantParking: Tons of spots

Loc Lu: We went here just to try it out. I didn’t have high expectations just because of other experiences at restaurants lately. This place is definitely worth a visit. Friendly service, great drink options, tasty food with big portions, very wallet friendly prices. Overall this place was a breath of fresh air. We will be returning soon and recommending to our friends.

TheZomberry: and the servers were very friendly and attentive. Will eat here again soon!

Colleen Renaud: . The meats are all made there and were pretty good. Didn't enjoy the pickles or the chicken liver mousse, but the bread with the meat was very good. Beautiful decor, nice bar area.

Marilyn Kowalchuk: We finally returned to have dinner and had a great experience on Canada Day. Colin, our waiter was friendly and attentive even though he was busy looking after many other tables. I started with the oysters which are always fresh. Then we shared the Seafood Croquettes which had a great texture and mild flavor. Then we ordered the Dry Cajun Ribs and the Beet Gnocchi. The ribs were the best I've had and the Gnocchi were as soft and fluffy as a feather. It was great to pair those two dishes together. We finished with the Lemon Tart which was a great finish to a fantastic meal. I forgot to mention that I had the Coconut Mango Margarita that had great flavors and I would definitely come back soon and order one with our next visit here. We have never been disappointed at Preservation Hall. The food and service is top notch.

Nola: what do users think?

Joelle Kindret: I am cackling reading the bad reviews because it truly reads "WINNIPEG CHEAPSKATE".Let me assure you, reader, that every item on the menu at this restaurant is a masterpiece. The level of care and attention given to each dish, whether appetizer, entree or dessert, is remarkable. Every serving is crafted with meticulous detail and genuine care, resulting in a dining experience that is nothing short of perfect.Mike, Emily, and their hard working team have put careful thought into creating an amazing lineup of deeeeeeelicious food and beverage pairings, featuring both amazing wines and cocktails. The menu at Nola offers a wide variety of incredible food options to choose from. If you happen to leave the restaurant hungry, it's not because the portion sizes are small, but simply that you opted to skimp on your night out.

S.L. T: Have been here a couple times, all meals sooo so so good. Eat so much you are waddling out cause you can't stop. Last time I went though, I asked about a cocktail and if it were smoky as one of the ingredients seemed like it was something with that sort of flavour. It wasn't mezcal because I know it's not my thing and I would have stayed away. The waitress told me a bit unconfidently, as if thinking really hard about it, that it wasn't, so I ordered it and thought nothing of it. It turned out yes to be quite smoky and so I just traded drinks with my friend across the table and didn't say anything because it wasn't a big deal. But I would have preferred her to just go ask! But all other experiences have been great minus that 1 minor thing.

PC: What a fantastic spot. Amazing food, great customer service. I love the atmosphere. I'm just upset that I didn't come here sooner.I'll definitely be back soon, again!

Paul K: and the air conditioning inside could not keep up. We sat beside the thermostat and it said 80F! Thank you for a great evening!

Hazel “Yenchagirl” GS: A unique, delicious menu. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. It is hard to find a restaurant to have lunch when you are Gluten Free and your friend is not. Many menu items were easily adapted to my needs. It was a refreshing change. I had chicken karaage over a delicious slaw. Great service, wonderful food.Dietary restrictions: Many items are easily made gluten free and they have a dedicated fryer 🙂

Bailey's Restaurant: what do users think?

Laura J: We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. The staff is courteous and friendly. Our waiter was kind and accomodating. The food was spectacular as always. I love the ambience here.Wheelchair accessibility: They have an elevator to take you to second floor for dining. Great for people with mobility issues.

Coletan Manchester: Hosted our wedding reception here, and it was a fantastic experience. Brad, our server, went above and beyond to ensure everyone had everything they needed, and following the guests were all commenting how wonderful he was.Upscale food cooked to perfection.I 100% recommend hosting special occasions at Baileys.

Bradford Wallace: It had well over 15 years since my wife and I had dined at Bailey's . I wasn't sure what to expect but kept an open mind. From the second we walked in the front door, we were made to feel like Kings and Queens. I'm absolutely blown away at the attention to detail the staff showed, which is very rare in today's world. Our waiter Patrick went so far above and beyond his position, he should be serving Kings and Queens. He is such a valuable asset to this business. We came hungry and with Patrick's desire to provide an excellant dining experience , and his amazing knowledge of in-house products , well we left totally fulfilled and even had some take home, yummy. . I cannot stress enough that If you want the Dining experience of a lifetime. Then forget the rest and dine at Bailey's. You will not regret it. So impressed with our experience and we will be back k. No question. To the management and staffAt Bailey's Thank you from the bottom of my heart.. Other restaurant management and staff need to dine here to see how its done right.

Anna Storoschuk: My friends and I dined there last Sunday. We were attended to by Hero.He was great! I know he has to be but he was very attentive and we enjoyed our dining experience. The food was very good and we weren’t rushed!Hope to return soon!

Pauline Bistro Restaurant: what do users think?

Vivian: Beautiful restaurant - really love the decor and vibes here. The breakfast is simple, nothing super outstanding - if you’re looking something simple, this would be it.

Katie K: I had to call to find out how to get inside, to find out it's through the hotel lobby. Once in the lobby I was confused where to go due to lack of signs, and found it's a situation where they shared the same internal entrance with the Tavern.I found the atmosphere to be too dark considering it was breakfast/brunch. It was more of a dreary, sad atmosphere.Service was fast and attentive. It was spectacular there. All questions were answered. Even my concern that the meat was wrong was addressed, as it wasn't what I was expecting. My water was refilled and I was given my own glass bottle for refills. The omelette of the day I found to be bland and rubbery. This made me question if it was made fresh. Though it was huge portions, which was unexpected for the price, I simply couldn't get through it due to the lack of flavour and the unappealing look of the omelette.I intend to give the restaurant another try some day despite this first impression.

Alexandre Caron: . I think this place could do a "killing" selling their home brand jam in grocery super centers. The food was delicious. The bread is made from a local bakery. The portion VS the price was as per my expectation. Beautiful presentation of my dish. I recommend this place. The jam is homemade

Hogan Mullally: Great food. Generous portions.

Kuba L: I absolutely loved this place! The moment I walked in I felt very welcome, the waitress was so welcoming and I immediately loved the atmosphere. I had an amazing time here and loved the food! The portions were very generous and the food was delicious! I will make sure to come back here before I leave Winnipeg. Everything about this place was great from the atmosphere to the food to the service. I recommend anyone who finds themselves in Winnipeg should try this place! Loved it!

Sophie Brown: Fantastic hidden gem off of notre dame. Our table had the burrata, arancini, calamari and many of the seafood pastas and every single one of the dishes were to die for. Generous portions for a fair price. The limoncello at the end is a nice touch. Our waitress was amazing, and even memorized our entire table of 8’s order which was outstanding. It did seem quite understaffed, but regardless she did an amazing job. Would highly recommend and return!

Brian Hiebert: This was our second trip to Nana's. Our first was around a year ago, and was great. On this trip the food was also excellent, and the service was impeccable. The only two concerns were around the charcuterie board, which contained a nice selection of meats and pickles, but only one kind of hard, VERY strong cheese. Second was that the interior needs some attention. Many of the seats are now worn out and torn and in desperate need of repair, and the clear glass lampshades above every table are very dirty. When you choose to have clear glass shades, you have to clean them almost daily.

Jepppy: Bit the bullet and ordered takeout from this restaurant, I always believe you jeopardize your food quality when you order takeout from a restaurant.I was so wrong on the food quality after getting home, food was delicious, portions were nice and the spaghetti carbonara, I never tasted anything like that before.Grate taste, everything tasted so fresh. Will be back, probably tomorrow. 👍

Kait Evinger: highly recommend! We had the osso buca, which was our favourite, cooked to perfection served with a savoury mushroom pasta. The insalata was fresh and bright with a really funky gargonzolla bite. Bread, along with everything else, is made in house and served with a quality aged balsamic vinegar and XVOO. The sauce with the appetizer meatballs was to die for, rich and layered flavours but not overpowering. There is a a serious sauce chef there, as the mussels also came with a fabulous one. Service was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is surprisingly modern with each table having it's own alcove, providing for an intimate setting. Be warned though, portions are enormous! Little Nana's will not disappoint.

Fred Harris: Such a lovely little place, and our server Natalia could not have been more welcoming, pleasant, & accommodating. Servings were huge. The light breading on the calamari, hot banana pepper, and zucchini appie served with a bright lemon cream sauce was a perfect starter! The fired up wheel of parmesan became affectionately known as the Cheese Wheel of Death... Picture a table side flaming ladle poured into a concaved bowl hollowed out wheel of parmesan... Now, picture the fettuccini with mushroom and bacon being tossed in all that melty goodness! Oh yeah... pictures! Plus, I came home with two or 3 more servings of the stroganoff style, broad noodle porc ribs, and some leftover spaghetti! Definitely, a return visit in my future.Parking: Across the street, Indigo parking

Roger Hopper: Fantastic little Italian joint! Flavorful and authentic food, and great service! Bread with dipping oil is to die for, some of the best we've had. Nana's salad also very nice. Braised beef entree looked and smelled so good we started to split it between our plates before taking the picture! Huge portion sizes, as this place is known for and as our pictures illustrate. Espresso cheesecake for dessert was decadent, and little limoncello digestifs with it were a very nice touch. A must-visit if you are visiting Manitoba!
