Taste of Mediterranean: what do users think?

David S: Excellent food. I very much enjoyed it.The staff were friendly, and very relaxed and friendly.I only knocked off a point on the atmosphere, and I'm sure given time it will be corrected no issue, they're in the middle of renovations, so there is building materials to navigate around, and the bathroom was a bit tricky to find. But that's not what I was there for. The food was great and the staff were great, so don't let a little atmosphere get in the way if you want to have some Mediterranean food. I really did enjoy it.And I'm quite sure that when the renovations are complete, it'll be fantastic again. All I have to say is don't judge a book by its cover. The atmosphere dock is just a minuet technical critique, don't let that dissuade you from trying this lovely food. Thanks, I enjoyed my visit.

Вікторія Бойчук: unreal delicious food. I recommend!

Kings Restaurant Middle Eastern Cuisine: what do users think?

Enoch Lee: First of all, I went 30 min before closing time on a week day with low expectations. Boy was I wrong. This is the flavours of India meets Lebanon! Best that the middle East had to offer. I devoured my mixed platter until there was nothing left. Everything on the plate complimented each other. I would've been happy with just the rice, let alone the flavour packed meat, the salads, and the hummus. Hats off to the owner, you've earned my respect. I have dined at many many shawarma places but not quite like this one.

Laura: Stopped in for lunch on a whim. Was my first experience at this establishment. Initially told the sever that I wanted my lunch to go, changed my mind while I was waiting. Was accommodated without hassle. Place was quiet, music was good, volume appropriate. Sever was friendly and informative. Chicken shawarma was hot and delicious. As I was eating my lunch the server brought me 2 salad samples to try, free of charge.

Richard de Chevigny: I'm not going to lie. We were a bit worried when we went in at 6pm on a Sunday and the entire place was empty. As our first time there, we didn't know what to expect but there were a lot of 5 star reviews. I immediately assumed that the reviews were fake but we decided to order anyways.Wow! It was absolutely delicious! Two of us had the Chicken Shwarma Platters and one person had the poutine and it was excellent. If we're ever back in that part of town, we'll definitely be back.

Trish Martin: Writing this review mid-meal because it's so good. We tried the chicken wrap and the king's platter. The wrap was delicious and it came with fries which were fresh and well seasoned. The king's platter was massive and so tasty. We also tried the mango mocktail. Everything was great with good portions and appropriately priced. The place was quiet when we came as it's a weekday, but i bet it gets busy. It's clean and spacious. Great service. Can't wait to go back

Michael Sparks: Very nice, roomy, clean dining area.Wheelchair accessible.Food was fantastic, delicious, hot, presented beautifully and the falafel was to die for!Service was great. The server is attentive, caring, and knowledgeable.I suggest you try Kings!!!Wheelchair accessibility: Power door, ground level dining area.

AmirAli A: So delicious, great customer service, was visiting from another city and gave it a try. Hoping to be here again!

Sal G. Samman: Hands down best Shawarma in Winnipeg both beef and chicken. If you’ve ever been to the middle east this is what real Shawarma tastes like. Authentic flavor and not westernized. May god bless their business.

tarynamanda13: we ordered beef, chicken, and falafel shawarma wraps + fattoush salad for a work function and everyone was very impressed and had nothing but great things to say about the delicious meal. We will definitely order again in the future.

Angeline Simon: We ordered the chicken shawarmas and they were incredible. Kind and friendly staff, we would definitely return!Recommended dishes Chicken Shawarma Wrap …

Shawarma House (Portage Ave): what do users think?

Minhaj Ahmed: It is a Thai restaurant now. There are a lot of different Thai dishes here and they're quite good. The price is reasonable and they still do make shwarma.

Jestful hills: Awesome service, great people and most delicious meals you can get

Barry Hoel: Amazing food

Organic in Winnipeg: The new owner is Thai. Husband is Canadian. It's going to be called Shava Thai soon.Authentic Thai food. Reminds me of Bangkok and when I miss home. My favorite place for Thai food. They also will serve Papaya salad when in season

john shantz: The best thing here is the Thai food which is not shown on the signs.Authentic, very tasty and reasonably priced.

Kendal T: So good. Great service. Delicious food and something you order on a regular basis. Great new management!

Shawn L: New owner is super friendly. You'll get a bigger Shawarma here for the money than at Shawarma Khan. TBH the meat at Shawarma House is better too. I am a super big fan of Sharwarma Khan so this is pretty high praise. If it is busy the service will be slower at House than at Khan. No falafels yet at House, so be aware if vegetarian. Can get vegetarian wrap or with samosa's though.

Robyn Olivia Macleod: My mom had some left over and she gave it to me it was delicious I would order from there every day if I could lol☺ very tasty food the lemon potatoes were so yummy😜

Ayesha Akhter: excellent food. very good quality.

Rohan Ca: So delicous food in the winnipeg city.chicken shawarma is amazing.customers serviceing is really good.and this is 100% halal food

Joshua Cardona: Good food, but be sure to clarify your order.

Md. Obaej Tareq (তারেক): Awesome biryani.

Brandon J: First experience here was not so great but we reached out to the owner for a second round and he made things right. The food here is excellent and I recommend it to anyone that is looking for Middle Eastern Cuisine.Recommended dishes Chicken Shawarma Plate …

Ryan Marques: Awesome place! The owner was unbelievably friendly and nice. I mentioned that I had tried to come a few times before but that it had been closed, and he generously took $1 off the meal for each time I had unsuccessfully come and also gave me a free drink, neither of which he had to do. This is the type of family locally owned business attitude that goes a very very long way. Aside from the friendly and quick service, the food was fantastic! The beef shawarma was really well seasoned, the shawarma bread perfectly textured, and the home pickled vegetables in it were excellent. I will definitely be going back soon to try some more menu items, especially the Shish Tawau, which was on the grill while I was there and looked and smelled absolutely amazing. I can't say enough great things about this place, I hope that it is successful and lasts for a long time!

Rick Lindsay: Great place and great food. It already has a basically 5 star review so what more is my review going to help.Don't wait just give this place a try.

fereshteh karimi: Food: 5/5Recommended dishes Mixed Shawarma Platter

Hunain Ali: . It was Lamb Kebab with Iraqi roti that was toasted.Overall it was a good experience.I really hope they start giving toasted iraqi roti instead of just out of the packet one, the toasted one will be more better and customers would definitely like it more.If you like middle eastern food, do check it out and definitely ask for the off menu items 😅Enjoy!Parking: It’s in a strip mall so parking was plentyDietary restrictions: Halal

Al Basha Restaurant & Cafe: what do users think?

Tina Mitchell: My husband and I tried Al Basha Cafe today for the first time. There were so many dishes that I wanted to try! They have a fabulous offer on Saturdays and Sundays: All you can eat brunch for $25.99/person. This doesn’t mean we can order everything on the menu and leave behind what we couldn’t finish, resulting in a waste of good food. Just like some other restaurants, they will charge a penalty for dishes left behind. I applaud this, but it does make choosing the right amount of food a bit more of a challenge, especially since we had to guess the size of the dishes, having never tried them before. We have big appetites and were successful in eating all of the dishes we ordered: Moroccan Shakshouka, Egg Tagine with Sausage, Egyptian Foul Moudamas, Syrian Foul, Hummus and Falafel and were served a basket of warm flat bread to go with it. We also ordered teas to drink. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! Both of the main dishes had a wonderful, rich tomato sauce base with spices. The Syrian Foul was a mix of whole chickpeas and fava beans in a lemony olive oil while Egyptian Foul was more of a mashed consistency like a dip with tomato and parsley. The hummus was both beautifully served and delicious both with falafel and as a dip with the bread. The only dish served in smaller portion was the falafel; we received 2 instead of 6. I have had falafel at many restaurants but I dare say these were the best I’ve ever tasted! They were perfectly seasoned, and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. We were VERY full, thoroughly enjoying the meal and what a fabulous value for the amount of food! We will definitely be back! I got a photo before the falafel were served but not before we started to dig in.There were only a few other tables with guests when we dined shortly after noon on Sunday, one of which was a large, noisy group, who filled the restaurant with their chatter. I did appreciate the middle eastern music playing, however. I only saw 2 staff members the whole time we were there and a few guests appeared to wait for some time to pay their bill or be seated. As the word gets out and the customer base grows they may need to increase staff. It is not fast food so be prepared to wait a while for the meal; it’s definitely worth the wait!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
