Dan Ogilvie: Amazon company. I dealt with a big soulless company prior to Howell and they said I was not covered under warranty and had a sales guy come by to give me $6000 options for a new furnace. Luckily I felt so much grease in the conversation I decided to have a shower and call Howell. Specifically Al. He checked with information I provided and I was covered. Said he would look after it. Part ordered immediately arrived in a few days and fix was only $250 for the labour. 1/20th of what I thought I was going to have to pay. In Cog Nito: I contacted Flo Pro for radon remediation in my basement. I had purchased a continuous radon monitor and was aware there was an issue. The readings had generally been in the 300-400 Bq/m3 range before the system was installed. I called two contractors for estimates; Flo Pro's price was lower than his competitor. Kelly is extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The installation was made in a most tradesmanlike manner to my complete satisfaction and I am quite fussy with the appearance of things in my home. Within 48 hours after starting the depressurization fan, the radon readings on the continuous monitor dropped to 20-25 Bq/m3 and have been steady for a number of days. The system works well.

Previous review from 2 years ago is below this one. The reason we called Balcaen & Sons again was because of the great service they had given us previously. This afternoon, our furnace quit and would not not come on so I phoned their service department around 2:30PM. A young and polite service man named Brian arrived at our house about 45 minutes later and he had everything working just fine within an hour. That is great service!! Thank your Brian and thank you to your service department staff. It took less then 2 hours from the time of calling their service department to the time repairs were done. Balcaen & Sons will certainly continue to have my business in the future with this kind of service. We highly recommend them.This next review was from 2 years ago:We got up this Sunday morning to a cold house. Furnace was not working. Phone Balcaen & Sons to see if they could come out. The gentleman on the 24 hour help line took my information and told me a service man would call me. Within 5 minutes, the service man did call and I told him about our problem and he told me that he could probably be over in about an hour or so. His name was Mike B. He came over as he said, diagnosed the problem and then told us a switch needed to be replaced. He was able to get the switch and was back at our house within a couple of hours and got the furnace going. I could not ask for a nicer and more courteous young service man.
