Lori Janeson: We loved working with our design team! Carrie and Zoe have worked with us on numerous projects and always help to bring our style to life. They do this by by sometimes pushing us out of our comfort zone and the results are amazing. We depend on their encouragement to move forward with unique design features, like our green kitchen and multi-textured ensuite. It’s these dramatic elements that made designing our cabin special and get the “wow” reaction from everyone who comes to visit. I always struggle with the finishing touches like picking the throw pillows and baskets that bring warmth into spaces. Tom and Cathie Zarfas/Thorsteinson: After purchasing an older home in River Heights, we worked with Rob Everitt to turn our 90-year-old character home into a modern space, while maintaining the interesting architectural features. In our meetings with Rob, he listened to our ideas for the house and incorporated colours and design to create a warm and comfortable space. The project included: designing a 400 sq’ addition to provide a main floor family room featuring a large tray ceiling and laundry room/mud room with an attached garage, updating our home in a most functional manner. His meticulous attention to small details, such as hardware and lighting, and large details such as cork flooring in the kitchen, family room and bathrooms creates a continuity so that spaces in the house flow from one to the other. The total makeover also included 2 new bathrooms and granite kitchen counters. We love our home and friends and visitors constantly tell us how welcoming it feels. Rob deserves the credit for transforming a historic residence into a family home and we cherish every moment. Thank you Rob for sharing your expertise with us.
