Hymns are from Catholic and Protestant traditions as well as some translated Ukrainian ones. Shortened one hour service. Friendly and approachable parishioners. Mainly people of Ukrainian heritage, but also a growing presence of diverse neighbours come together to celebrate their faith. Service in English.

My involvement in the ministry expanded my awareness regardless of the external circumstances and it gave me a tremendous spiritually empowered life.

Kitin Cayona: This parish will make you feel welcome. They have ample seats for everyone. It would be nice if they have their own parking space for the convenience of the parishioners. But you don't need to worry about parking your car on the street side since the church is located in a friendly neighborhood. They have anticipated mass on Saturdays at 5 pm and two Masses on Sundays at 9 am and next at 11:30 am.

Jos Gatien: Pretty much everything I hoped it would be. Strikingly beautiful and and peaceful. The service was really nice and there were folks who were very welcoming. There was coffee and dainties served afterwards and a couple of folks sat down with me and made me feel extremely welcome for a first time visitor. I will definitely be returning.

Helen ICE: I was stunned when I entered this beautiful Cathedral and felt like I was in somewhere in Europe. I never knew there was such an artistic and historical building in Winnipeg. I had an opportunity to talk with Priest Paul who was very friendly and warm. Priest Paul even helped me pulling my car out of deep snow there. I will visit there again for sure!

Gerry Kozakewich: , is held only once yearly and has its own unique melodies that you don't hear at any other services. The Ukrainian Catholic priests in this parish have terrific social skills and make you feel right at home the moment you walk in the doors - we're all family. As well, Fr. Dmetro took time to introducing the three unique themes of this service recognizing that many people in the congregation don't attend church regularly. It was all about making this service memorable to fully help the congregration experience the depth of Good Friday - to experience the many emotions of the crucifixion of Jesus, the deep sorrow it created especially for Jesus' mother Mary, but also the hope we have as we recognize the transformation that comes from the Resurrection. This is an invitation for us to leave our pains and suffering in the grave and to experience the joy and new life we have through the Resurrection, to experience a Metanoia, a change of heart. I've been to many church services where this doesn't happen and I've always considered that to be a missed opportunity to reach the congregation. Well done, St. Joe's.
