gary pacholuk: I would like to thank Mike and his staff for making a difficult time much easier. He was there every step of the way and provided all the information we needed. He was very patient, caring and respectful and made sure all the details were taken care of.
Terrah-Lee: Mike had arranged everything for my father and I after my mothers passing. From meeting up with him until the day of her memorial, everything went great. The ladies at the front desk were helpful & kind and the gentlemen at the service were amazing and made us feel so at ease. The service itself was more than we expected. The food was amazing too. I know my mother would’ve been happy with everything.Also after the fact I did some research and Voyage along with some other funeral homes in the city do own their own crematoriums. Many have 3rd parties doing that for them. I felt very relieved knowing my mother was in their care the whole time. I understand the funeral industry is a business but Mike and his staff definitely don’t make you feel like just another number coming through. I don’t hope to be visiting the facility again anytime soon for obvious reasons but this is definitely the place I would chose for myself or another loved one.

Katherine Cox: My husband passed away on November 13, 2019. We didn’t know what we needed to do. We called E J Coutu & Co Funeral Directors. My two daughters and I met with Ed and he was so approachable. He put us at ease. He went through all options available to us. He asked us about my husband Rick and what he was like and what he would want. Besides helping us with the funeral planning he let me know what I needed to do for CPP survivor’s benefit and how to apply for a death benefit etc. We had Rick cremated and were looking at urns at the funeral home. We mentioned having a burial and Ed suggested the possibility of using the box style and not an expensive urn. I was impressed with this as he never tried to sell us on any higher package or service. Ed was always available to us during the planning stages of the funeral service and on the day of the service. Before the burial took place at a later time i had a bit of ash removed for my daughters and later for Rick’s sister. Both times Ed did this for me without hesitation. I appreciated this. I highly recommend Ed and his team as he is very approachable, compassionate, caring and listens attentively. He really put us at ease. I thank you Ed for all your care. Although it has taken me a couple of years to write my review I have thought about Ed often.

My thanks to Coutu for making this experience for myself and my family a flawless affair, and a special thanks to Elizabeth for taking such good care of all of us. We really were treated as more then just clients, through Elizabeth and Coutu we were taken gently through what could’ve been a horrible experience. Instead, we received the most compassionate care and thoughtfulness imaginable. Should the need ever arise again, and I hope that it doesn’t, I wouldn’t hesitate to call upon these gracious people again.

Glenn Armstrong: Today I was trying to find the burial sites of several people at Glen Lawn Memorial. Julia Hall, Family Services Director, was very helpful in finding the locations and provided me with detailed instructions and maps to find each person. My thanks to Julia.
Sharon: Just this week we had my moms service there. Right from the first meeting Marian made us feel welcomed and very comfortable during such a sad time for us. I highly recommend going there for services. I also highly recommend dealing with Marian as well! She is a truly caring but yet fun person to deal with, we shared some laughs, stories and a few tears with her.Thank you Marian for everything you do there.

They are extreemly well organized and help you through the difficult process. My mother was buried there 20 years ago, and now we're going through the process again with my father and their quality or attention to detail is still as great as it was 20 years ago. All the staff there are wonderful, and Julia Hall was espically helpful as her years of experience really shines through, she is a consumate professional who goes the extra mile.

The caring and guidance you provided not to mention all the Government paperwork you handled on my behalf was much appreciated. Updates of the progress from pickup to cremation and back was a bonus. The meeting with Amy was also very helpful as she explained what had already been done and what I still had to do. Above all, I want to thank the staff responsible for the Photo Biography. It was exceptional and drew many compliments. Don't ever change your business practice and I will definitely recommend your services to everyone. Again thank-you and your parking, well.....is just about adequate.

The care and compassion they showed my mom, brother and I from my first phone call and through the entire process was such a comfort to us. I called several times and they were always very responsive. They also communicated by email and provided updates as things came together which I appreciated very much. When we met to go over all the details and plan the funeral, Amy was so knowledgeable and helpfully explained all that needs to be done when someone passes away. She also walked us through how the service would go and gave us such good advice about how to structure the program and other choices. The service was beautiful and everything worked out exactly as she said it would. I had heard that Ethical Death Care was less expensive than other funeral homes but there was nothing about our experience that felt inferior to other options. In fact, it was the best option. Considering how difficult a time it has been, Ethical Death Care made the whole process as manageable as it could be, and I will always reflect back on our service for my dad as extremely meaningful and beautiful.
