Melodie Adkins: Excellent coffee, roasted on site. Knowledgeable staff. There are a few seats inside and more outside. They don't serve food but had some pastries on the counter. The Americano coffee was strong and one of the best I've ever had. Good prices too. Cantook is a short walk from the old city walls on Rue St. Jean. It will be our regular coffee shop during our 4 month stay in Old QC

Joelle Nichita: This coffee roastery roasts coffee from various countries around the world such as Costa Rica, El Salvador, Indonesia and Africa itself. Coffee beans can be bought whole for use at home or freshly ground in the store.Comfortably furnished, the perfect place for coffee to start the day.Unfortunately, there are no croissants or pastries on offer for breakfast, which you could enjoy with the delicious coffee.

On the other hand, too little space for customers waiting for takeout and those seated. Very interesting to see the technology of the roaster and the storage of large bags of coffee. swissguyflying: I can't comment on the food/cookies. The coffee selection is large and the staff have a good know-how on where the coffee has been harvested and how they have been processed. I believe they have direct contact to some of the plantations in Costa Rica and are directly involved in parts of the process. They are very helpful with any questions you may have in regards to the different coffee beans they sell and take their time.The atmosphere is cozy.Recommend to come here!

Sakina Dahodwala: A very nice cafe with very cool interior. The space is pretty huge with big benches as well as small table for seating yet it’s always busy. I tried their salmon bagel which was pretty average and their tofu poke bowl which was good. The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. Would definitely love to give another visit to this cafe to try more pastries and coffee.

Peter Watson: A rare treat in the most dire coffee desert that is North America, a land of disturbingly ambiguous, warm brown swill, masquerading as 'coffee'. Vain attempts to endear itself with massive volume over quality content, fail as one would expect, dismally, if not tragically. Such is the accepted fare for much, if not all of it. Canada sadly does not escape this harsh but very real judgement one jot. I have lost count of the number of tubs of such undrinkable swill that i have left virtually untouched, minus little more than a couple of sips. Here instead is a real crème in a real flat white, that actually tastes and feels like real coffee, in real coffee cups. An easy 9½ out of 10. Such a rare pleasure. The biscotti and croissants are a good match and of like quality.Atmosphere? I would sit on a packing crate on the street for this, though the shop and outdoor tables are perfectly pleasant for those who concern themselves over such matters.
Benoit Ringuette: Great latte! There are so many "specialty" coffee shops now, but often we wonder if they provide Barista training to their employees. At Cafés du Soleil, we loved our latte. THANKS!
S. Haarsma: Loved this coffee spot. It was close to our vacation apartment, so we went twice. Delicious coffee, and small selection of treats to go with your espresso, cappuccino or whatever you order. The treats are super good too, they have almond and chocolate croissants 🥐 and more.. Would definitely come back if we are in the area. Opens early, so that’s a plus too!
