Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral: what do users think?

Timothy P. O'Connor: The most powerful place I have visited in the entire province of Québec. We were fortunate enough to visit during the 350th anniversary of the Basilica, so the Holy Door was open. It was such a moving experience to hold Jesus' hand while pushing open the heavy door, crossing from the outside world into the peaceful and spiritually-inspired world within the Basilica..Such a breathtaking space! The architecture, the wood, the statues, the paintings, the stained glass. There were great bilingual pieces of information throughout, and we felt we learned a lot about the history of the Basilica. The modest gift shop had the most modestly-priced mementos in the whole city, which is typical of Catholic Church shops. As a result, we spent more than we were inclined to because it felt we were supporting a genuine non-profit cause.Full disclaimer: my great great great grandmother was baptized in this Basilica in 1831. She was born on a ship coming to Canada from Ireland. They would baptize babies at churches in the first port of call, in that case the Basilica in Québec City.DEFINITELY will revisit this Basilica when I come back to Québec.

Bob La Valle: Google presented us the schedule for St-Roch Toronto, We misinterpreted. Unfortunately, St-Roch Québec was closed at Sunday, 9 am. Call ahead for celebration times, in French, before going. The architecture of this building is significant. It's worth a walk around to appreciate it's grand stature. The only active burial crypt in Quebec lies inside. The site is best appreciated, understanding that St-Joseph Est was the shopping centrale in the 1960's era of the department store before the shopping mall. Notwithstanding shifting economics, this building is magnificent.

Celia B: A hidden treasure. Coming during the religious heritage days, I had the chance to attend a performance of frisaona in the church. A simple but rich church

Sy Pham: Beautiful and impressive church right beside the Art Museum.

Michel Marchand: A very beautiful church, beautiful interior light entering through the stained glass windows. I went this Sunday to attend the 9:00 a.m. mass to commemorate this celebration for our deceased, who left us in 2021 and 2022. For this celebration, there were 6 Sir Knights present who came to pay tribute to the deceased in support of the families present , as well as to their Brothers Sir Knights, the loss of 3 of theirs, with the guard of honor in front of the church sword in hand presented to the sound of the trumpet, very moving, very special touching. A very beautiful ceremony, thank you Sir Knights for having contributed to this parish, my condolences to all the people who were there. Thank you to the celebrating priest and his helpers for not forgetting people

André Land: Magnificent building

Ignacio Muzaleno: Very beautiful architecture!

Jimmy Carbonneau: Very beautiful convent church. A simple beauty conducive to prayer. The services there are generally sober and of quality.

vlegardien: Exceptional woodwork

Susanna SS: We stumbled on this beautiful church as its bells were ringing while the pope’s motorcade passed. The staff spoke French but they tried their hardest to relate their church’s history and to answers our questions. It took 22 years for a father and son duo to complete the carved altar, pulpit, pews and all the wooden elements of the interior. The sculptors did an amazing job.

E. Chen: Beautiful and impressive church right beside the Art Museum. They will offer guided tours on the weekend, and have mass during the weekdays. Very elaborate wood carvings and stained glass windows

Louis Dumas: How can such a beautiful church be so empty of faithful?
