MAD: Recommended for those looking for a gym in Ottawa. The machine may not fit the Japanese frame, but it can be done somehow. Separated into a powerlifting zone and a bodybuilding zone, it's perfect for competitors!Well-equipped, good atmosphere and every one is serious and strong. One of the best gym I've visited in my life. Gym owner here does his job well. He replied to me within a day, which surprised me a lot. Definitely recommended for every one.

Not much when you use the leg press and someone else is doing dead lits while a third is squating or benching. Now you only have 4 or 5 sets of plates to press. Could use more plates. Otherwise nice place

Jessica Belanger: I’ve been going to the baby strength training classes for about 3 months now with trainer Amanda, she’s amazing. She caters the program to your needs, listens, isn’t pushy, very open and if you’re like me, I was nervous I wasn’t going to get a good workout for a baby class… I was wrong, I’ve tripled my weights and stronger then before I was pregnant. If that’s not your goal however, baby socialization was awesome too and the atmosphere is relaxed. I’ve also met Adam, one of the owners, who’s also a gem. This place is super chill and you get what you want out of it!

Michael Cornish: The best gym in the city for athletic development. Adam and his crew know exactly what they are doing when it comes to building elite athletes

Emily Clements: This place.. The coaches are magnificent. The banter is spot on. The programming is outstanding. I’m absolutely smitten.The classes are varied and run all day long. There’s even an 11am and a 3pm class which is pretty much unheard of. There’s a kids class at 5pm on Sundays and they also run a program for folks who are training through various stages of recovery. I’ve broken more than one PB within weeks of starting with them alongside many a giggle. So welcoming and unpretentious. I just can’t say enough about the good happening over there.

I had nearly convinced myself that I wouldn't be able to do something like CrossFit at this time in my life, but I was curious and took a giant leap.From the moment I contacted Dan for an introductory conversation I felt welcome and assured. There is a supportive program that prepares you for the classes and Derek who coached me was fabulous. All of the coaches at Fortis are excellent and truly care. I feel that I have the benefit of personal training while working out with a supportive and encouraging group. Every workout is scalable and accessible, and after a few classes, I was hooked.With the help of nutrition and fitness coaching, I've seen so many benefits since joining. I've gained muscle and my energy levels have skyrocketed. Not only do I notice myself getting stronger during the workouts but also notice improvements in all the other activities including skiing, hiking, cycling, etc.If you are hesitating to join, I would recommend reaching out to Crossfit Fortis and trying it out. You won’t regret it.

They truly care, they take the time to show you the movements and make sure you don’t get injured by showing you the correct way to do it.My goal is not to be a CrossFit games athlete. I hardly ever RX a workout to be honest, there’s always a scaled version of the movement, making it possible for EVERYONE to be able to do CrossFit. I’ve accepted that I’ll probably never be able to do a handstand walk or a muscle-up, but I have FUN every time I got to the gym, all while being active so I can be a better mom

I was nervous to try CrossFit because it is sometimes labelled as a cult-like environment and I thought I had to be super fit to join… total misconception! I really appreciated that he made such an effort to get to know me and help me with my fitness goals. I used to avoid making connections at my gyms thinking that not talking to other people would be the best way to recharge after work, but this location made me realize that I love chatting with all of the staff throughout my workout. They are all so eager to help and get to know the members, which has created such a positive environment that I look forward to everyday.

They recently added more equipment, which helps to not have to wait for someone to finish using a machine. The staff are very friendly. James is great. Andrew Kozlov: More than a decent place, good machines and friendly staff. Might be a bit crowded sometimes, but that's what you are getting when going to a good gym at rush hour.

Isabelle Mader: Best gym in the city. Best rates. Best equipment. All new and it’s never crowded because that place is huge. Friendly staff. Showers. Lots of parking. Fresh ventilation. Black card membership has a pile of massage chairs and beds, and Free tanning. For that feature alone it is worth the membership. I have another membership in Gatineau and i still keep this one since it’s so cheap and practical. If it wasn’t for this gym I’d be spending money on massages every single month. Check it out, you wont be disappointed.
