M Catherwood: I’ve been here a few times after discovering it near my neighbourhood. The food has always been delicious and great portion sizes for price. I’ve tried many dishes, my favourite being the gravlax appetizer and steak frites main, and their desserts are tasty too. Great atmosphere and it’s always busy when I’ve visited, yet still feels tasteful yet cozy and relaxing.The staff are great too. But last night I went there with some friends to celebrate my partner’s birthday and it was my best experience there yet! The staff was so friendly and our server especially put so much into making it a really special dinner. So kind and thoughtful.I always recommend this place because I’ve never had a bad time here!
Andrew Wyatt: What a delicious dinner we had at Le Baratin. We started with 2 shared apps - Gravalax and the Countryside Paté. So simply done and so tasty. I had the Steak Frites for my main. The meat was melt in your mouth and the Shallot Sauce was amazing. My dinner companion had the Swordfish with olive tapenade and a cauliflower mash. So tasty as well. Wonderful service. Would definitely recommend Le Baratin!

Anita: Merlot’s rooftop is open for the summer and it is a fantastic outdoor patio. The space is inviting with a nice bar. Service is friendly. The menu is different from the indoor one.There are some fun summer cocktails on offer and interesting appetizers good for sharing. We particularly enjoyed the tostones.Great place for drinks and snacks on a nice day! Note that they do not take reservations for the rooftop!

Ellie Leger: My husband took me to Veloute for dinner and we could not have been more impressed with the food and the service. The personnel including the owner made us feel like we were the only ones at the restaurant. They were attentive but not overly so. Friendly and considerate. The food was fantastic perfectly cooked and seasoned. But by far the dessert took the prize. I love my cheesecake. It is my go to dessert. The cheesecake at Veloute is the absolute BEST I have ever tasted. I am already making plans to return.

The only reason I gave it a 4 is the decor is poor for a place serving this style/ price point of food. The menu is upscale but the decor is mediocre. Jordan R: I have dined at Veloute many times and have always been delighted. My preference is to have lobster added to the steak frites, however it has to said that every dish is spectacular. Add to that the opportunity to expand your knowledge about wines while chatting with Alise, the best Sommelier I’ve ever met, and you have an extraordinary dining experience. I recently took an important customer to Veloute, and he said it was the best meal of his life. Always fantastic; these people are wonderful!
Naheed Merchant: A gem of a restaurant on Lakeshore. The food, service and atmosphere is A+We tried their summerlicious menu and was blown away by their sumptuous menu. Because of this, we ended up missing the start of our show.If i were honest, I'd give 3/5, but I'm providing a 4/5 to acknowledge the hard work of the staff, the chef, and the effort put forth.As a 30 something year old, I personally would not attend again. But I could see how it could be a good place for the more mature crowd

David Harris: I recently dined here and was completely blown away by the cuisine, wine selection, and the service. The food is absolutely exquisite and whomever the saucier is; he is a genius akin to Mozart. Everybody in the building should pay extra taxes to live close to this restaurant.
