Starting Saturday, November 30, 2019, the historic brick factory nestled in Toronto’s Don Valley will be transformed into Evergreen’s Winter Village. Visitors can skate on the picturesque outdoor skating rink, shop locally-crafted and sustainably produced goods at the Holiday Market and enjoy tasty eats and drinks. This year’s edition features live music on Sundays, plus special performances by Tafelmusik on Saturday, December 7 at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The Winter Village is free and runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends from November 30 to December 22, 2019.

The historic kiln building – now the fully-enclosed TD Future Cities Centre – is home to one of the largest sustainable holiday markets in Toronto. A rotating roster of over 40 talented crafters, artisans and makers from across Ontario offers unique holiday décor, handmade gifts and original craftwork for every gift-giving need. Ontario Vintage Market, with over 15 vendors, will be onsite every Sunday.

Visitors can chose from a line-up of local street fare from the food trucks and food stalls, serving up tasty eats from dumplings to arepas, gluten-free goodies to gourmet grilled cheese. Free public skating next door in Koerner Gardens is a one-of-a-kind experience. The rink, featuring an ECO CHILL refrigeration system for sustainable cooling, is scheduled to begin Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (weather dependant.) Bring your own skates or rent onsite. Not in the mood to lace up? Evergreen Brick Works is the holiday hub to explore nature with wintry walks through the 40-acre Weston Family Quarry Garden and Don Valley Brick Works area. And for all your family fun, there are kid-friendly nature-based activities and crafts in the Children’s Garden and rink-side storytelling.

Evergreen Garden Market, the on-site year-round shop, offers gifts for everyone on your list – from food and home décor to books and children’s games and toys made by artisans and small-batch producers in Canada. The Market will offer three species of locally-grown, fresh-cut Christmas trees - the popular Fraser Fir, Balsam Fir and Scotch Pines, ranging from 2.5-ft up to 12-14-ft - along with a full offering of wreaths, garland and ornamental potted greenery.

Evergreen Brick Works is accessible by walking, biking, driving, public transit (TTC’s #28 bus from Davisville Station) and by free shuttle bus located at the parkette north of Broadview Station.
