New Vision United Church is an inclusive, diverse community of Christian faith that encourages the gifts and graces of all people. We are committed to pursuing our ministry through loving God and actively sharing with our neighbours.


We gather at 10:30 am Sundays on Zoom and in our lower hall at 24 Main W.


Here is our safety plan effective Mar 26 2022 : i) we will form the circle again in the lower hall, distancing the seats by a metre for the time being. ii) people may join the circle if they are willing to wear a mask. The reason for the masks is that we will allow ourselves to sing, and masking reduces the distance air we expel travels with the increased effort of singing.


Our in-person gathering continues to require your use of a mask. We strongly encourage vaccination, but know that there are barriers for some people and we desire not to create more.


New Vision is discovering what God is doing in Hamilton’s urban core and participating. We believe that justice for persons experiencing marginalization is fundamental to the creation of an inclusive beloved community. Out worship is experiential, participation, image rich and collective. Our ministry is intercultural and affirming.


We affirm the inclusion of people of every ability, income level, age, race, family type, gender identity and sexual orientation in the ministry, leadership and life of this congregation. We celebrate the gifts and graces of all.

In 2013, Westdale United Church declared itself an affirming Ministry within the United Church of Canada and recently church Council voted to explore becoming an officially Affirming congregation through Affirm United. Being affirming means that we are a safe space, striving to be fully inclusive of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Westdale United Church has deep roots in the Westdale community. Westdale United presents a building of classic church architecture, with a high vaulted ceiling, stained glass windows, and excellent acoustics. It has kept pace with time, making it fully accessible with an external elevator and internal lift and the complete modernization of ample washroom facilities including gender-neutral restrooms.
