Dan Harmer: Thirteen months ago, I underwent the Rezum prostate procedure for BPH with Dr. Matsumoto and I am very pleased with the results.I had been suffering from typical urinary symptoms due to an enlarged prostate for several years. Frequent urination, repeated nighttime trips to the bathroom and never really emptying my bladder, sometimes causing leakage. Its amazing how poor urination can greatly impact the quality of your daily life.I used Flomax medication with limited success. It did help with flow but it also caused nasal congestion which resulted in increased snoring and poor sleep. Often the poor breathing would wake me up.After researching different treatment options and following the recommendation of my brother-in-law who had previously had Rezum with Dr. Matsumoto, I decided to give Rezum a try, and I'm very glad I did.First and foremost, the Rezum procedure itself was relatively quick and minimally invasive. It uses steam to treat the excess prostate tissue causing urinary symptoms. The procedure was performed in a private clinic, which meant no hospital stay was required. I was in and out in under two hours.One of the things I was most impressed with was the effectiveness of the Rezum treatment. Within a few weeks, I noticed a significant improvement in my urinary symptoms. Frequency and urgency were noticeably reduced, and I was able to empty my bladder more completely, which resulted in fewer, if any trips to the bathroom during the night. It was a noticeable change that greatly improved my quality of sleep and life.The recovery process was relatively smooth as well. Again, there was no hospital stay which was important to me. I experienced minimal discomfort after the procedure and that was due to the catheter you have for one week. I was able to resume my regular activities within a few days. Compared to other surgical options, such as traditional prostate surgery, the recovery time was significantly shorter, which was a huge plus for me. My pre-procedure symptoms have disappeared. I sleep throughout the night and my urination frequently during the day is significantly down.Additionally, I must commend the professionalism and expertise of the medical staff involved in my Rezum procedure. Dr. Matsumoto is one of the most personable and professional doctors I’ve ever met. He took the time to explain the procedure, answered all my questions, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Communication before the procedure assured me that I was making the right decision. After the procedure I could easily contact Dr. Matsumoto if I had any concerns. Follow up appointments have confirmed I made the right decision.I highly recommend both the Rezum procedure and Dr. Matsumoto.

David: I have been ‘watchful waiting’ for high PSA and enlarged prostate for a number of years. Recently my issue developed to urinary retention which resulted in a indwelling catheter, in place for 4 months. Following a consultation with Dr. Matsumoto, we agreed I was a good candidate for the Rezum procedure. I had also done my personal review of options prior to proceeding.Dr. Matsumoto was excellent as he guided me through the procedure and what to expect. He also was very supportive after with regular communications and guidance. The catheter remained in place for 4 weeks after the procedure, but following that, I have now been catheter free for 3 weeks, a great change. Urinary urgency remains an issue but this can be expected from any of the BPH treatments. Definitely recommend.
Claude B: Had Rezum procedure done here. and everyone was magnificent in doing their jobs. From start to finish, was a breeze. Am very happy that went ahead with the procedure, as results were better than I expected. Thumbs up to Dr Matsumoto and staff.
Joe Balog: was the cause of the urine flow blockage.Dr. E. Matsumoto recommended that I need a procedure to resolve my blockage. He explained that the gold standard that OHIP covers is the TURP procedure. With the TURP procedure I will need a couple of days in hospital for recovery. He also suggested water vapor therapy called “Rezum”. Dr. E. Matsumoto explained that this procedure is less invasive with less possible side effects however it is not covered by OHIP. After doing some of my online research I chose the “Rezum” procedure.On Aug 16th, 2022, Dr. E. Matsumoto performed the “Rezum” procedure at his Dynamiq Urology clinic in Hamilton Ontario.Dr. E. Matsumoto and his staff were very professional and competent in performing this procedure.The recovery with no Hospital stay was very important to me, especially during Covid-19 times.I am very happy with the results of this procedure; my urine flow has increased significantly.

Gary Webster: Wonderful results from Rezume procedure performed by DR Edward Matusmoto, Dynamiq Urology. Following a few days of discomfort after the procedure the results were quite good with great follow-up from Dr Matsumoto to be sure I understood the short healing process and to allay any concerns that I might have. Very satisfied with the entire experience with DR Matsumoto's approaches, information on what to expect and particularly the improvement in my ongoing urinary health.

Ken Posthumus: I had Dr Matsumoto perform a REZUM procedure on me to alleviate my BPH. The results were extraordinary. My BPH is completely gone with no side effects. I cannot be happier. Dr Matsumoto is extremely skillful, compassionate and responsive to any questions/concerns I had pre and post care. I would highly recommend him as your urologist if you are considering having a REZUM procedure.
beth brittan: My name is Phil Brittan. I’m 68 years old. When I learned that my bladder was not emptying because of my enlarged prostate, I became very concerned. I wasn’t bothered with getting up at night, but I had a very poor flow rate. I began to investigate the ‘Rezum’ system for prostate reduction. I arranged to meet with Dr. Mazumoto, of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton. I was comfortable right away with Ed’s approach. He has a lot of compassion and a real ‘heart’ for helping solve this common male problem. Anyway, I allowed Ed to go ahead and perform the procedure. He arranged for me to be sedated, so I didn’t feel anything. The next 10 days were a bit of a challenge, wearing a catheter, but I got used to it and the time went by quickly. With the catheter out, I was feeling some minor discomfort but my urine stream was increasing each day. Over the next 2 to 3 weeks, I became delighted with the results. After a month, I was peeing like a ‘race horse’! I am so glad that I had this procedure done. I’m peeing like I did, back in my 20’s!

Michael Allen: I have BPH and was experiencing extreme difficulty when voiding. After trying the prescribed medications for months, the problem continued.I heard about RESUME therapy and ask my Urologist for a referral. She suggested Dr Matsumoto. After meeting with him I strongly believed this was the way to go NOT TURP.The actual procedure was relatively straight forward with some after surgery issues that Dr Matsumoto assured me would pass. Well they did and now I’m able to void again! What a relief! No complications for me from the RESUME procedure as is the case in other types of surgery.All throughout this process, Dr Matsumoto was extremely supportive and responsive to my questions. Not only is he a brilliant surgeon, but is very professional, sympathetic and really knows his stuff.I would highly recommend Dr Matsumoto for anyone experiencing BPH voiding problems.
Dan Vernescu: Upon living with BPH for a few years I approached Dr. Matsumoto about the new Rezum procedure. He firmly confirmed its positive outcome and at my request developed an action plan leading to the procedure complete with a pre and post operative medication. The surgery was so well organized with all team members interacting well and reassuring that made me feel very comfortable. I did not feel any pain during or after surgery. Before the end of the day, Dr. Matsumoto contacted me to ensure I was comfortable and all was well. My recovery was uneventful and now, one year after surgery all participating functions are back to before BPH and that is much better than I expected. My PSA is down, I don't get up to use the washroom at all at night, follow up tests show that I empty the bladder very well and more.Dr. Matsumoto is well respected by his peers and patients, he is compassionate and thorough as well as a very experienced urologist and I highly recommend Dynamiq Urology to anyone with BPH problems.
El Bee: A year ago I found myself in Emergency at the local hospital with a painful urinary tract infection. I'd been taking both Dutasteride and Tamsulosin daily for BPH nevertheless my symptoms were going from bad to worse. I discussed my options with Dr. Matsumoto and chose the REZUM procedure at Dynamiq Urology. It did not require a hospital stay and was minimally invasive. Recovery was a matter of weeks. Today I'm off Tamsulosin and only take Dutasteride three times a week. My PSA levels haven't been this low in years. All the symptoms usually associated with BPH are gone. I've personally recommended REZUM to many family and friends already.
Lucian Tutu: I was referred to Dr. Matsumoto by my actual urologist in Kitchener and I can say I had an amazing experience working with him. As a matter of fact the best experience ever when talking about a surgeries. Everything went as he explained the first time we met. Dr. Matsumoto is very thorough during the entire process and leaves no questions unanswered. The surgery went very well. I was expecting a tough recovery but to my surprise, there was no pain hence no need for pain medication. Although the surgery was performed during Covid restrictions, Dr. Matsumoto stayed in touch with me every day over the phone to assess the recovery. The first signs of change came roughly 3-4 weeks after the procedure. I could say it was kind of life changing. I feel now like in my thirties again. Still have to take 1-2 breaks at night but at least I I empty fast. Very happy with Dr. Matsumoto and the results of this procedure.
Dan Dufour: It has been 8 months since my procedure. I was getting up three times a night on average to urinate, now it's once. The odd time I will sleep through the night, which is great. I am a avid cyclist with a 1 hour ride to work. I was starting to have trouble making it there without a strong urge to go. Now it's no problem. The first couple of weeks were rough but well worth it in the end.

Joan Perrin: I had been seeing a urologist in my hometown who was pretty much torturing me twice a year by pushing metal catheters up me to tear through scar tissue and telling me there was nothing else that could be done. A friend recommended a specialist in Hamilton who in turn said I should see Dr. Davies which was the best advice. He was wonderful from start to finish. He never rushed me when we talked and answered all my questions. He finally had to do surgery on me, which I had no pain from after and so far it has worked like a charm. I thank him from the bottom of heart.

CC WIN: I haven't been to his office in some years ,was checking reviews in hopes he does umbilical hernia repairs as been sadly suffering since my first laprascopy over 30 years ago and still haven't seen a segeons for 3 years since untasound reveal diagnois .He was such a wonderful doctor ,bed side manner I found to be very professional .What I like is he is straight up and test preformed via check for uretha possible narrowing was such a relief as uses water rather than air like many others. I saw him twice and out of all specilist I'd seen since a young girl within ,by far he was the best .I highly recommend him as he is honest and straight up .

The Division of Urology is also home to one of Canada’s newest urological residency programs, granted by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2002. The Division facilitates the education of 11 residents and 1 fellow, providing the optimum material for training residents in a comprehensive program complimented by availability of urologists and scientists to provide the infrastructure for research training as well as post training fellowships. The Rebel And The Girl: Had my tympanoplasty surgery here. Dr Reid, Dr. Park and staff were fantastic. I had one complaint about a nurse when I came out of anesthesia when I was in tremendous pain she mockingly and rudely dismissed the pain I was in. Either than that the staff made me feel very comfortable and calm as my anxiety was very high before surgery.

Kevin Bensette: Very professional, very skilled and easy to get along with as I'm also a perfectionist. It was over very quickly, wasn't very painful at all. The recovery was much quicker and easier than expected. There was no real lingering pain and I was back to normal in a week, exercising quite hard after 10 days. Take it easy for 2 days and you're fine, or at least I was.At the end of the day, my family doctor referred me and I never did step foot in his office. Consult + surgery the same day was great.Great doctor, Great surgeon and a great guy too. Good staff are hard to find these days and he's the one holding the scalpel during the procedure, so don't let it effect your decision.The Doc...5 Stars, 6 if I could...
Sue Mongrain: Dr Fisher is one of the most caring, respectful, attentive and thorough Specialist I have ever dealt with. He took the time to explain the procedure and to answer my questions. His sympathy for his patients shines through his personality. The wait time in his office was minimal although I would wait whatever time required if it meant he was treating me . I am shocked by the previous reviews concerning the office staff. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Kim. She is super pleasant, understanding, polite,thorough and sympathetic. I can sincerely say that Dr Fisher and his medical staff go out of their way in caring for their patients. I am blessed to have them on my team!
Keith Stringer: I read some of the reviews of Dr. Fischer before I saw him and was a little apprehensive. I can only think that there must be two Dr. Fischers and I got the good one. He is exceptionally patient and explained everything about my treatment, including options, beforehand. Apart from the initial examination and the surgery following I have seen him twice in his Young St. office. Once I waited for about 20 minutes and once about 25 minutes. In my limited experience with doctors I regard that as absolutely acceptable. The only criticism that I could agree with is the waiting room is small and a little warm and I am quite prepared to overlook that since I have been successfully treated for a potentially fatal condition. I am grateful that I live in Canada and that there are surgeons as skilled as this one.

harvinder juneja: The Dr. office was full and waiting timea are long. There is very little air circulation in the tiny waiting area. I had to leave the waiting area and stand in the hallway until I was called in. Dr. Fischer was kind and cordial but was obviously rushing through the assessment. However, the day of the procedure went on time and without any major delays. Follow up with office has been prompt. The experience has been fantastic other than the initial visit to the busy office. Dr. Fischer is an expert and skilled urologist.

The Rebel And The Girl: I was referred to Dr. Diane Reid at the ENT department. Dr Reid is brilliant she gave me my life back. She is extremely knowledgeable and has excellent bedside manner. The staff and volunteers i’ve dealt with here are always very friendly and attentive.

Alex Granados: My partner and I came here with respiratory concerns last week. The wait was long and communication throughout the day was lacking. That said, the staff were incredibly compassionate and took their time to understand our concerns. Considering the mass underfunding of our healthcare system, I felt that the hospital was effective with their limited resources. Compared to other hospitals in Hamilton, I strongly suggest coming here.
