Nerve blocks and trigger point injections can provide effective pain relief for patients. These services are fully covered by the OHIP system.

First, allow me to introduce myself – my name is Francine Wong and I’m a Bowen Therapy practitioner and the owner of Bowen Hamilton. But I haven’t always been a Bowen Therapist. I actually started my career as a nurse.

I worked for 7 years at McMaster University Medical Centre on a general medical floor, and also worked on the Hematology/Bone Marrow Transplant unit. From there I moved on to Visiting Nursing in Hamilton and Halton.

Working with people has always been fun for me. But I’ve always liked working with my hands as well – from pulling apart toys and bicycles and musical instruments – to putting them back together – which was usually more challenging than pulling them apart!

I was watching Balance TV and Dr. Marla Shapiro was interviewing a Bowen Therapist and one of her patients. The patient had been in a car accident 7 years prior to meeting the Bowen therapist.

This woman underwent the usual therapies: chiropractic, massage, physiotherapy, and acupuncture. She was also practicing yoga in hopes of reducing her shoulder pain, which wasn’t providing her much relief.

… until she tried Bowen Therapy techniques. After ONLY two treatments her shoulder mobility was almost back to full range. That was a real attention grabber and what first got me interested in learning more about Bowen.

After seeing this clip, I did some research and enrolled in Bowen Therapy training to begin my new career.
