Furlan Conservation: what do users think?

Mu Nasser: Great service and professional and unique

Active Air: I met Walter a couple of years ago putting some HVAC for his shop.I was amazed with the quality of workmanship that was on display and the dedication to old techniques

Larry Sinnige: If you're like me and have an older home with heritage windows in need of repair, restoration, or just a bit of tlc and you don't know where to begin, I would highly recommend Walter's workshop. I initially tried to forge ahead on my own with hours of internet research and YouTube videos to guide me but became frustrated very quickly with the results. There's really no substitute for years of experience and know-how, and no one more experienced than Walter Furlan. Walter also teaches techniques and principles consistent with traditional methods and minimal intervention. The class size is small so you will get individual attention for your specific needs. An excellent course and an excellent teacher....

Matt ODonnell: Highly recommend taking the workshop if you live in a home with old wood windows! Course is great for learning how they work, troubleshooting any issues you might have with them and gives you the confidence you need to take on the work yourself. Walter is extremely knowledgeable and a true master at what he does.

Bob Gill: This is the place to go for heritage window preservation and restoration. Walter is highly skilled, knowledgeable, passionate and an expert at his trade.

C Fong: Walter is highly knowledgeable in the restoration work for windows and doors. Seen some beautiful jobs of his in restoring the windows & door. Great workshop. I highly recommend this company for any of your windows and door restoration works!

JB Tangerine: I attended a full day workshop on window restoration for home owners. I cannot express how much knowledge I gained during the workshop, not to mention the confidence I now have to continue the restoration of my wood windows. Walter is easy to talk to, patient with questions, and enthusiastic on the work we attempted. I am looking forward to having well functioning, wood windows in my home completed by my own hand. Thanks Walter!

Oleg: I used this company for two different projects. Walter did a beautiful job restoring the windows on my old victorian house. I also had very intricate carving work done to replicate the original parts. I am very pleased and I highly recommend this company. Walter is a master of his craft.

Geoffrey William: A modest man in a modest shop. Don't be fooled, Furlan Conservation is of the highest end craftsmanship of heritage conservation. Walter and his team have done work on some of the most presigeous historic sites in the area, the quality here is second to none. Furlan Conservation is very focused on saving the history of all types of wooden elements, windows doors, and stained glass. They also provide historic paint analysis and consulting. They work under the leading conservation standard and follow the preservation philosophy of "minimal intervention". I am blown away by the before and afters coming out of this shop. Walter and the team are happy to give there time to anyone with questions regarding home conservation, they would like to spread the knowledge as much as they can, the goal is to save the old history of our buildings. Walter thinks, you can do it, and where you need help he is there is assist with knowledge or conservation services.Furlan Conservation has become a local hub on Barton street and is very community focused. I know Walter would like to see bright life return to the street and his neighbourhood, saving the old soulful elements which make Hamilton so rich!Ask Walter and the team about the traditional and organic materials they use, they are the highest in quality. I am personally in love with the linseed oil paints they offer.

Peter T.: The restoration work is professional and brings out the preserved beauty of the original design. They are also focused on the community in which they operate and are instrumental in helping advance social, environmental and sustainable infrastructure initiatives.

Geoffrey William: what do users think?

Gord Carson: Amazing work!!! Geoffrey is very professional and knowledgeable. I had custom made storm windows made by him and he explained the entire process and he listened to every idea I had and explained what would work and what wouldn't and why. I'm planning on getting more work done by him as I restore my home and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for excellent craftsmanship and professionalism.

Danielle Dominick [Staff]: Geoffrey is a true craftsman whose knowledge and passion about heritage restoration makes him a delight to work with. We are so grateful that we had the opportunity to get to know Geoffrey and learn about how to restore the windows on our 120- year old home. His vision, ideas, problem solving, and generally relaxed and easy going way of being made a potentially stressful project so fun. We would highly recommend Geoffrey and his assistant Chris to anyone who values heritage conservation. So happy that our windows are functional and beautiful. Thankyou Geoffrey for your contributions to our home- and your generosity and patience with us as we navigated a complex reno.

Paul Maloney: Geoffrey is an all round most capable worker and craftsman, knows what he’s doing and highly recommend him

Toni Iduciano: Geoffrey has painstakingly restored the archectural beauty of our front entrance, side bay window, and wood widows and storms. Thank you, Goffrey, for your superb craftsmanship and dedication to unearthing our home's original features.Toni and Paul

Colas Mike: Geoffrey created the vestibule to our upcoming Bistro Réunion in Morriston and looks fantastic! Come and see Geoffrey’s work once we open in October. Great work!

Dave Green: All good people. This young man genuinely loves what he does. That goes a long way..Get this guy if you can. He does what it takes to get the job done and he's going to be busy!Dave and DebHamilton.

Wesley Suh: I attended a workshop Geoffery held for wood window restoration. It was an awesome and informative 2 days. I would recommend anyone wanting to learn about window restoration to join his class.

Margaret Lowe: Geoffrey did a wonderful job restoring and preserving heritage windows and doors, as well as natural staining for my deck. He is truly an artist with conserving my home, bringing the home back to life to its original integrity. He is committed and did very thorough, thoughtful work. Thank you for your excellent work on restoring my home, I would recommend him in a heart beat - 5 stars!

Paul Sutin: My Wife and I hired Geoffrey to repair, refinish and paint exterior trim on 2nd floor of my 100 yr. + home. I have dealt with many trades people over the years and our experience with Geoffrey was exemplary. Always in contact, exceptional work, very reasonable rates. If he did not know the answer to a question, he would research. Cannot recommend highly enough. We will be asking Geoffrey to help with other projects. Thanks Geoff!

Shawna Geer: Geoffrey is the true definition of a craftsman. His attention to detail and extensive knowledge of heritage conservation make him a 'one of a kind' carpenter. Geoffrey stands behind his work and is a pleasure to work with.

Grey Lady: Geoffrey restored 2 storm windows, and built one for my bay window, as well as repairing and restoring the whole bay. I am extremely pleased with the results and very happy the window could be restored and I didn't have to replace it with vinyl. I would highly recommend him, and will be calling him in the future for other projects.

Leanne Stephenson: . I highly recommend him for historical masonry work and would not contact anyone else.I hope to work with him on some future historical renovation projects.

Jonathan Stemeroff: I had Geoffrey restore the windows in my 1915 home, they now look elegant with new spring bronze that is also very functional in keeping the windows sealed. He also replaced a rotten window sill and some damaged floorboards. Prices are very reasonable and the quality of work is amazing. I highly recommend Geoffrey for any heritage work on your home.

Neil Woodley: Geoffrey restored what we thought was a goner of a double hung sash window into a beautiful heritage feature of our home. He is an extraordinary craftsman whose attention to detail and painstaking sourcing to get the right end result is a delight to behold. He was a courteous guest in our house and we enjoyed his company as much as his work. He always left the site clean and tidy. We would highly recommend his services if you wish to restore your windows back to being both the stunning and practical.

Micah Marie: Geoffrey's workmanship and professionalism had me searching for more projects we could hire him for. Prices were super reasonable and timing was always prompt. Highly recommend!

A. George Palios: Geoff is not only the best masonry contractor I've ever met, but also one of the best contractors, workers, handyman, and renovator in general. He is always punctual, professional, and knowledgable. Renovating a century home has its challenges and specific needs - Geoff not only knows exactly which products to use to maintain the home's integrity while updating and renovating, he goes above and beyond what's expected to deliver fantastic results with amazing customer service. He's always available, even if just by phone or text, and his prices are fair and reasonable. Over the course of renovating our home for the past three years, we have had dozens of different workers through our door - Geoff's work was the only project that floored us, and he takes the time to actually clean up and leave whatever space he works in like brand new again. Whenever we hire him for a job, I'm excited to see the end result. As a realtor and renovator, I can proudly and happily refer and recommend him to absolutely anyone who needs expert advice and top quality workmanship.

Meghan Davis: great attention to details and knowledge

Andrea Miller: We have had the privilege of working with Geoffrey William on several projects and have always been very impressed by the degree of craftsmanship and attention to detail he exhibits in all the work performed. He has shared his passion and knowledge of restoration techniques and has always been eager to answer any questions. We are thankful to have had Geoffrey restore the elegance to our heritage windows and look forward to working with him to restore the remainder of our windows to their original beauty.

David Lord: Geoffrey did exactly what he said he would, showed up on time and did an excellent job with the screen!

Kathryn Cowley: my front door. He has done such a great job. and I love the passion and attention he brings to his work.He is great on customer service, follow up, and his communication is clear. If you have anything that needs to be reused or restored, call Geoffrey!

We are hoping to get to the halloween pumpkin festival this year. A truly fun place with a real great staff. They are very knowledgeable on all the trades and traditions of the past. Angelina Arabella: Breathtaking

Dawn Stowell: Amazing exhibit on the clothing industry. Wonderful architecture

Gwenyth Crouse: And I remember it being really amazing. There's this whole atmosphere to the place. If it's not haunted then in the very least it has this air of rich history. It's a lovely place and I highly recommend it. I know ghost walks don't happen here anymore but that was one of the most inspiring days of my life. Will definitely come back someday when it reopens just to see how much it's changed in the past 6 years.
