Lydia Nimbeshaho: This center showed up for me through the most challenging time of life. I still lack words. They do not help you as a client; they make you feel like a family here for you and never think you are alone. When I went through a marriage separation, I thought the whole world was falling on me, left to raise three boys. I had no family to go to. They supported me in every possible way—everyone who donates to this center knows that my family prays for you. I am a psychotherapist in training, and I pray to give back to this center soon. To every woman, never feel afraid to seek help; you are never alone. I felt empowered to go through this single motherhood journey because of the Women's Center of Hamilton. To the whole team, thank you so much. I am in tears writing this.

Kerri Raposo: Gave me counselling when I needed it most, arranged to get Christmas gifts and grocery cards to my children after we were forced by my ex husband to be penniless and hungry. Without them, I’m not sure how I would’ve survived the worst time of my life.
P.S. MediaHouse: We've worked with Interval House of Hamilton for three years now and we are constantly humbled by the work they do and the impact they have to women in the Hamilton community. We see first-hand how dedicated Nancy and the rest of the team are to women staying at the shelter, and how tirelessly they work to secure the much-needed funds to keep their programs running year after year.

It’s one of the things I am most grateful for, and proud of, in my career. I am in awe of the dedication, professionalism and care the Executive Director takes in everything she does. Belle Setaoc: This place was life changing for me and my family. They listened and supported me and went above and beyond for us. They fought beside me in the hardest times of my life and helped build me up and encouraged me to believe in myself there is not enough thanks I could give to them. We are together in our safe forever home because of them and they will always be remembered for their part in saving our lives. We could not say enough about the amazing staff that was there and listened, supported and even sacrificed for us. They were kind friendly and never judgemental. THANK YOU for all you do and continue to do for the many women who have been though hell and made it through because of you
Jennifer Todd: I must have been close by. But I stayed there 6 years ago and it was really good if you needed a place and had now were to go. They always want to help you. They keep you moving like looking for a new place. When you first go there they will give you a purse or bag. It will have shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, a hairbrush, underwear in it. And if you don't have any, they will give you new pajamas. I liked it, and there's more than I can say.
Katrina Graham: I am surprised that this shelter has no issues disclosing their address. When we were in need many years ago, we were not allowed to tell anybody where we were living and had to meet our family elsewhere. They only did lock downs when there was a severe case of abuse which was our situation. Most of the women while we were there were friendly and were looking for new residence due to evictions. We enjoyed our time there given our circumstances at the time. We didn't stay too long though as we found a new apartment right away. I think the stay period is 6 weeks. It may have changed. I hope you never have to be in a situation where you will need to utilize this facility but if it happens that you do, ask about bugs etc. Bring minimal things with you and put what you can in storage or a friends garage.
T A: Amazing shelter me and my kids were supported on so many levels. While I was in this shelter I went into labour and holy hell the staff made sure I had everything I needed to welcome my new baby they even had a hospital bag packed for me in advance.and they surprised me with a doula for support as well. My son was also diagnosed with ASD and a genetic disease a week or so before and they helped me with that as well other women at the shelter were awesome as well we all got along.would recommend this shelter to anybody who needs help

canadiansavage9: Amazing is one way to put this place! Annie is a facilitator who is an amazing woman that I have had the pleasure to work along side as well as Natalie. These women go ano e and beyond in a daily basis! Thete are many different programs offered to anyone that needs it. I believe the only criteria is that the program applies to you in some way. There is no financial aspect bc its free! Take a look you may just want to learn about you!! There is also a drop in for woman and some toiletries and clothing available through donation. Thanks to all of the wonderful and amazing staff!!

Janet Matteson: Amazing staff, so genuinely caring and loving, and they all have beautiful golden hearts. Unfortunately good shepherd doesn’t take as much time picking their senior staff and management/DOC is very underwhelming. They’re rude, pushy, and unfortunately the reason a lot of staff walked out the door. I hope they can redeem themselves.

jennie lukas: My grandmother was recently in Emmanuel House Hospice as she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I cannot even put into words how amazing the staff at the house were. They went above and beyond in everything they did. If my Nanny was having a hard time dealing with the fact that she was going to die they would come in and sit with her and hug her and just listen to her speak about her fears. Everyone here was equally as amazing from the director to the cleaners and everyone in between.. I will be forever grateful for all of you.
Emily MacKenzie: she had terminal cancer. Her husband, myself and her family kept her at home and looked after her as long as we could, but in the end we did have her brought to Emmanual House where she spent her last two days. It was very peaceful and our family appreciated the compassionate care given to us by Hillari and our daughters nurse Victoria. Thank You for helping us when we had to say goodbye to our beautiful daughter. I would absolutely recommend Emmanual House.

Janice: My mom was at Emmanuel House for a month, I clearly remember after her first night there she said to me " the nurses and everyone here are angels." The compassion and care that was given to my Mom was excellent, I could not have asked for better care for her. Special thanks to Hilary and the staff on Dec 21st where Mom had a visit meeting her Great Grandson for the first time. This could not have been done without the extra care that day to make it special, which is was. Our family is truly grateful in how Emmanuel House followed through with Mom's wishes throughout her stay. You all have a special place in our hearts.
