Created in 1963, G.I. JOE was inspired in part by a TV show called "The Lieutenant." A licensing agent named Stan Weston brought the concept to Don Levine at Hasbro, with the idea of creating a poseable soldier for boys. Levine and his team of designers ran with the idea, and the rest is history.

Lester Mcpherson: If you didn't get a chance to visit Kool Stuff, then you seriously missed out on the type of store that was a piece of Hamilton's soul. Jeff is amazing and when I read that it was closing I had to get down there asap. One day I went in there and the GiJoe USS Flagg was in there - couldn't believe my luck. I took my kids there once in awhile so they could see what real toys used to look like, and just being being in the store took me back to my childhood. Jeff was an excellent example of how to create a community around a shared love, and that sincere and honest people still exist. He and his store will be missed.

John Geldart: Went down to Hamilton during a snowstorm from Guelph just to visit Kool stuff toys. What a cool store. So much selection and he has an amazing collection of every type of toy you could imagine. The owner and his son were very kind and extremely helpful. They had a great selection of the toy line that I collect. They had things from the 1970s and '80s and more. I had such a great experience. I will definitely go back to the store in the future. Jeff the owner was so courteous and helpful. He is very enthusiastic about his collections. He helped me find parking and even let me use his washroom after my long trip. His prices were very reasonable. He even helped me locate missing parts to the toys I was collecting. Overall a great experience and I will definitely go back to that store. I would check it out if I was you. Give yourself a lot of time to search through his enormous selection of vintage and collectible toys.

Julia Chamberlain: To be honest, I haven't entered the store. BUT, I would recommend them without a second thought! I also tell people about them on a regular basis! Why? I drive a patient transfer van, many of my clients are going further down Concession Street to the cancer clinic. With all that's going on in their lives, they sometimes need a smile. Penny Pincher does that when they walk the street in costume!

Nessie: Brenda is absolutely amazing, her skills are impeccable. A great pleasure to talk to and very helpful. She taught me a lot about sewing, being that I have very little knowledge with sewing and often hand-stitch everything. She was polite and her husband is such a great person being joy to everyone while he walks the streets in costume.Definitely the place to go to for costumes and such. The store front itself is absolutely beautiful and the layout is awesome.If you ever have a chance, this is one place to check out!

Micaine Carberry: I have been coming here for years for any warranty related repairs to my power tools and equipment. They have helped me find parts for weird things, as well as repair tools. I have waited months for parts, especially due to the previous milwaukee shortages, but I have been called and advised when my tools and parts are ready. Yes, they can be a bit rough around the edges, but I live a friendly dose of sarcasm. I am in the trades, so I understand the humor and / or lack of emotion at times. Overall, they have always been polite and professional. The counter ladies have always been fantastic. I will keep coming back as I have been for years.
