Ron Golden: West End Diner has become our "go to" place when you hit one of those nights where you just don't feel like cooking.You'll have a tough time finding a restaurant that has such an extensive menu, and I can't say we've ever been disappointed in anything they serve.Portions are very generous, so you usually leave with leftovers for another meal at home. So the reasonable prices are even better considering that you're likely to get extras from it.I think the best part of it though is that it's a family owned business who obviously put their heart and soul into it. It's a place I feel deserves the support of the local community they service.
Bonnie Haigh: Shandi was our server and she was amazing, friendly and prompt. We ordered seniors hot beef and only wanted one side, she suggested we take the salad or soup home so we had the salad to go. Not many restaurants offer that. Food was delicious and we enjoyed being there. Have been before and have always enjoyed our meals. Thankyou !!

Nice tasting food, could be cooked in better oil though and bit overpriced for the portion/plating and level of hospitality I received...Waitress was disconnected, did the minimum, not warm or engaging..it wasn't busy and I was a single diner. I was located upstairs where no one came around to ask for things. Hostess made a very nice impression so was surprised how cold the service was. All staff could be found sitting & chatting by the kitchen throughout the duration of my visit.I think many people would enjoy this place on the right day and with a better server...but I personally wouldn't return. The staff left a big impression, if im spending $20++tip on a burger for dine in, I would like more genuine hospitality/warmer atmosphere.Cool concept overall for location, but misses the mark for me personally.

Henry Chapman: I love this restaurant! I've made it a tradition to pay it a visit each time I'm in Hamilton, and it's such a great way to spend the morning hours. The staff are so kind, the food is exactly what you'd want, and the atmosphere is impeccable. It feels like I'm walking into a small relic of the 60's each time I visit. I can't wait to revisit this place again!

The old time diner feel is so refreshing and welcoming. The staff is incredibly attentive and genuine. You can tell there is a lot of love in this place. We got the classic breakfast and it was beyond flawless. The bacon, eggs, potatoes and even the toast was perfect. It was so delicious and the food quality was amazing. One of the best breakfast plates I’ve ever had and it was only $10! Can’t wait to come back for their homemade cheesecake 😍
Anna B: We finally got a chance to try Steve’s Open Kitchen and we were not disappointed. We were greeted by a welcome smile and we choose to sit in a booth. The coffee was hot and delicious. I settled on the eggs Benny and it was amazing. The eggs were perfectly cooked and bacon was still crispy. The home fries are the best the I had tasted. Crispy enough, not over cooked and spiced just right. I ended up with the cherry cheesecake and glad I did. It was a generous piece of pie with cherry sauce, a dollop of whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. The pie was light and fluffy and not too sweet. If you have never been, be sure to check it out. Great home cooked comfort food. I will definitely be going back. Maybe try lunch next time.
Tedd Tingey: Everything about Steve's Open Kitchen is awesome...the more you go the better it gets.The staff are so friendly, you feel better when you leave, than when you go in.Oh and they have great cheesecakes too.
Max Lostracco: I witnessed a customer brutally disrespect the staff at this restaurant. The customer was snapping their finger at the waitress. The waitress said “we don’t treat people this way” and the woman said “get out of my face”. She was kicked out. As she was leaving she said “I WILL POST THIS EVERYWHERE”. So I came home to look and it seems she posted a negative review claiming to be a witness, lol.Great place, I’m a regular.

Well, last weekend I finally did it on a whim.We went in for doughnuts, we were too late in the day and missed out but we stayed for lunch instead.First off, the atmosphere is everything you want in a diner. Please don’t ever change. The checkered tiles and red booths give you the retro feel I want in a diner. The service was fantastic, everyone was so friendly and welcoming.I ordered a Ruben and my partner ordered a western sandwich. I don’t order Rubens often, and I’m really glad I chose to that day. It was just so good and I was thinking about it for days! My partner said it was exactly what a western should be.I look forward to returning and hopefully I’m early enough for doughnuts next time!

They literally have something for everyone, the 3 of us got omelettes, pancakes and western sandwitch. We all left completely full and satisfied. One thing I noticed that rekindled my faith in humanity is that Toby's allows a few houseless people sit and drink coffee when its very cold outside. Christopher Pangilinan: and had coffee refills always ready to go, even after we cleared the bill. The atmosphere was up my alley as I enjoy local joints and their unique characteristics like an old style bar counter and non-functioning jukeboxes in each booth. I would recommend this place to see if they levelled up other foods on their menu!
