Hannah Schneider: Brux is always stellar, but it was extra special last night knowing that it might be the last time we dine there! Great service as always from Dylan and Eamonn. Food and drinks were great. The standouts were the broccoli appetizer and an exceptionally good negroni. Lots of good memories at this place, you will be missed!

Amanda Stewart Reiser: This has been on my list for SO long and I’m happy we finally got to try it. It’s a great spot on Locke in an old building, candlelit ambience and comfy booths. The food was amazing - pretzels, schnitzel and chocolate torte were all delicious. Solid beer selection and cocktail list as well. A little pricey but the meal was fantastic so you truly get what you pay for.
Olivia Adam: My first time coming here for my birthday dinner and I must say, everything about this place is exceptional. If I were put on death row, I would choose their pork belly as my final meal. Our server was lovely, the food was beyond amazing, and the whole atmosphere really tied in the experience. Left my boyfriend and I speechless by the end of our night. Phenomenal.

One of the best chicken schnitzels dinners I have had. My wife had the seared trout and it looked almost too perfect to eat. The drink menu was quite extensive and had a nice selection. Highly recommend to check this restaurant out.

Jeremy Martin: Just got home after a lovely date night at Brothers Grimm Bistro. We had never been there and wanted to find a new place tonight. We literally googled "best upscale restaurant-vibe in Hamilton", and Brothers Grimm came up. So glad we took the chance and tried it. The atmosphere in there in amazing and cosy. We were greeted by a lovely hostess, and then Alexander looked after us for the evening. Alexander is a superstar server who helped make our date-night so special, The food was fantastic - we filled up on appetizers, wine, dessert & a freshly prepared coffee. We will 100% go back and bring friends next time. Awesome restaurant that I would recommend to anyone wanting a special night out!!!

Randy G: Party of 4, on a Saturday evening. We ate on the patio which is set beside the main building, back from the sidewalk. Very nice atmosphere for dinner, little street noise. Our server was friendly and efficient and we enjoyed appetizers, mains and dessert. The Key Lime tart was excellent. The interior of the tavern is quite elegant, and we’d definitely recommend, except for the Chocolate crème Brûlée which was more of a chocolate pudding and overly sweet.

Michele Braun: Kudos to Aaron at The Diplomat Friday May 12, 2023. We arrived with a reservation that I had made in error for the incorrect day. The restaurant was currently closed for a movie shoot. Aaron took it upon himself to walk us over to The French and secure us a table. He was very friendly and professional but most of all helpful. We had an amazing meal at The French and a lovely evening. Amazing customer service, staff and food. Highly recommend both establishments!

Cassandra Gonzales: Pictured here are the The French Onion burger with Cajun fries and the Duck Wings with honey lime sriracha - damn delicious! The burger was hella tasty and just loaded with toppings. They didn’t skimp on the cajun seasoning on the fries at all. My only complaint would be to leave more of the meat on the duck wings, they’re so yummy. Oh, and their homemade ketchup is amazing!We sat out in the front patio, which they could definitely add a few more tables at. Service was SO kind and attentive. Definitely need to come back at try their other burgers.

Enough about that though because the flavor of the catfish was so great!Vibes were immaculate. Such a chill spot. Dawn Stowell: Exceptional experience. My reservation for two changed and I still went and very glad that I did. I ordered their Gluten Free Flourless Chocolate Torte. Tortes for those who don't know are made with a higher ratio of eggs and butter and as such a much smaller portion is usually the way to go. As a chocolate lover this was a fantasy come true. The density/texture balanced between fudge and a brownie was superb. The depth of chocolate taste was deep and luxurious. The sugar content was a perfect nudge down allowing for the chocolate flavour to reign. The presentation was lovely and the berries were carefully selected for peak ripeness and taste. They contrasted beautifully with the torte. I ordered a single scoop of quality French vanilla icecream for $1.50 additional. This allowed for a palette cleanser effect of sorts in between bites. I savoured this experience. My server was pleasant and not overly "nice,' and this was welcome and refreshing. For a Tuesday at 5 this restaurant had only two patrons, which was fine by me. My bill came to $10.74 and left enough room for a healthy tip. The server told me that the menu will be changing in a couple of weeks. I pray that when I return in about 4 weeks that this glorious dessert will still be offered.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options are available.
Alan Strang: First time dining at Chagalls, great service and food, Sweet potato waffle fries could have been hotter, so fabulous waiter compt desert. He was a great server. Nailed my steak doneness right on. Our friends Cob salad and Jambalaya were also well recieved.Some of the decor could use some attention, overall a great pre- HPO dinner.Water with sliced cucumber was a refreshing touch.

I actually ordered the local IPA on tap and it was out, so my waitress brought another Ontario-made option in a can, just in case, rather than coming empty-handed. When she brought the bill, she explained that they didn't seem to have a price for it and she charged me half of what I would have expected to pay! Glad I chose to leave Honest Lawyer for this place instead. I had the turkey burger to eat and it was delicious, too!

For a Monday evening the place was busy, which was nice to see.As an FYI, there is no parking onsite but we found plenty of street parking and if you plan to indulge, a taxi/Uber is the best option. 5 stars all around!! Tiffany Leung: I took my family of 10 here for dinner from China and they were incredibly impressed with the food, presentation, and the level of service received by Lois! Without question, they had placed our large group in a private dining room, our waters were constantly refilled and asked how we were doing. We ordered 3 bone-in ribeye steaks and a few of their sides, the 1000 layer potato comes highly recommended and did not disappoint. This place was a show stopper and would return for a date night for a more intimate experience.
