Work Boot Factory Outlet Store Ltd.: Collin, Mitch and the entire team at Alair Homes Winnipeg have outdone themselves again! 18 months ago, the City of Winnipeg permits department came knocking on our business door and life changed. I went from happily running my almost 30 year old local retail store to unhappily juggling paperwork, emails and city demands which required me to work with an architect and structural engineer to come up with a plan. For the first 3 months, I was tackling this all on my own and almost lost my mind in the process. That's when I knew it was time to call Mitch and HE WAS AWESOME. I hired him to be a part of the process long before there was any physical work that could be done. He helped oversee the stream of emails and needs of all parties... The city, the architect, the structural engineer and myself to keep this process running smoothly. It took almost a year of rejections and new demands and heightened emotions from all sides. Through it all, Mitch was patient, clear and supportive. AND FINALLY OUR PLANS WERE APPROVED! Next it was time to make the structural changes needed to our very old store space in order to meet the city's code requirements. The Alair Homes Team showed up and got everything done with very little disturbance to our regular business flow. They worked with us and around us and got the job done. The inspectors came and approved everything and I am so happy to say that this is now complete and in the past.I cannot tell you how many times I was ready to quit and walk away from this unbelievably challenging situation, and yet everyone at Alair made it possible to see this project through to the end... and with some laughs along the way when I needed them most! Justin Latta: I'm writing an in-depth review, and ultimately giving Hearth 5 stars because their service is just out of this world amazing.Let's start from the beginning. Linda was great to deal with, on figuring out my plan and and exactly what I wanted in a house. We chatted for a while, visited a few of their different show homes and landed on one that I liked but wanted customized. The job cost card was fairly accurate, but make sure you go through everything. I asked for a copy of their showhome, and was quite surprised when the countertops were an upcharge since I had thought I had the countertops selected from the show home. That was a shock, and one of the things I do wish they were a bit more transparent on.Then on to the planning and selections. For the most part, this was fairly smooth. I had a good idea of what I wanted in the house, so it didn't hold anything up. There was a bit of a mixup when working out the details on the driveway, but it was dealt with. I wish I took a bit more time in my walkthroughs, because there was one mishap that I should have caught in one. We had moved a doorswing to allow for a light switch in a different spot, but then we left the light switch in the original spot. But, hearth actually came and fixed it up when I asked them to as I didn't feel it was entirely fair I got the worst of both worlds, and we had discussed it.Everything done in the home has been superb quality so far, and any issues that have come up are dealt with promptly. I talk to the neighbors, who are building with others and they have significantly more problems, that are not being dealt with. My neighbor who built with a Qualico company still is waiting on his driveway while a massive pile of rocks sit there and he can't use it at all. They told him it will be done when it's done. That's not how hearth works. Hearth is upfront and honest, they will tell you exactly what they know in terms of timelines and try their best to accommodate them.Seth and Wade are both amazing people to deal with, and very reasonable. Seth really goes above and beyond to get the job done right, he's a guy who takes pride in his work and doesn't just slap things together. They always are super responsive to my messages, and when I have an issue they have someone out right away. Don't expect everything to be 100% smooth sailing, things happen along the way, but Hearth is extremely flexible in working with you.If I can give any advice to anyone reading this - trust Hearth to build your home correctly. I had some hesitations after reading a million horrible things online about shoddy builders. But remember you're coming to Hearth because they're not that.Thank you Hearth for my amazing home, I absolutely love it.

Craig Judt: Hearth-homes built our house from our own house plan. They modified an existing plan to fit our design. The house was built AHEAD of schedule and on budget. We are very particular and was up at the house monitoring progress everyday. The project management team of Brandi, Liam and Seth were fabulous. Seth, the site foreman explained every step of the work and was quick to address any mistakes that were made. There were very few mistakes throughout the process. Everything was addressed promptly. We are now in our house for just over 12 months. There was virtually nothing to address at the one year cut off. The sub-trades were all professional with great attention to detail. We have had other friends go through the building process recently. They all had many nightmares to share with their builders. Hearth was a pleasure to work with. Although they are a smaller company compared to the big builders out there, they produce good quality home at competitive prices. Extras or add-ons that cost a lot with other builders are sometimes already included in the this builder's pricing.
Dave Gurvey: Thank you Balong. Your review certainly would be concerning but I can confirm our Company has NEVER used/hired anybody by this name. If you hired him after you took possession, and had this bad experience, it is very unfortunate. We do offer finished basements as an option. We do recommend to our clients to always use a professional when doing work after you have purchased the home. The person you speak about obviously was not. In the few times we have had to substitute materials, it is only with the Customer signing off as OK and usually due to a code issue or, a discontinuance of that item.

Lisa is extraordinary knowledgeable and explains everything stage by stage patiently and she always be with you until you move in and take care of your all concerns. The best thing I have seen and really surprised that if you ask any question and messaged to her and you would receive a reply message... in next business day...after 5hrs... No..ooo.... you would receive reply right away. Don and Lisa are the excellent sales team and they make their customer happy. Sterling homes provided the best experience: all representatives of the company are very polite and always here to help with all related concerns. The integrity and dedication that the company brings to the work is shown through everything they do. During the construction process we were welcome to come and see the whole process, it was great experience that we was never offered before! The quality of materials and attention to details were up to par. It is also very important to mention that company was very accommodating, as they moved the possession date on earlier date. And it was so helpful, since we sold our house and needed to move sooner. Our agent Lisa helped us so much in this respect, she talked to the builder and they were able to move possession date that we can actually move one month earlier. And of course Lisa is a wonderful realtor that did so much to us that we could not even imagine. There is nothing impossible for Lisa, she is a professional and we are very grateful that we met her !We could not think of better outcome! Christopher Okello: We bought a Sterling Homes show home in Ridgewood West in September and moved end of November. Phillip Musick was such a pleasure during and after the entire process and we couldn’t be happier to have dealt with him. Response time was very quick if and when we had questions & he answered the 10 million questions & requests to revisit the house after the purchase. Our experience was great throughout and they exceeded our expectations every step of the way! Highly highly recommend if you’re looking to build or buy a Qualico home!
