She provided us with breakfast supplies in the fridge every morning, which was such a thoughtful touch. The whole house was spotlessly clean and comfortable, which made for a truly enjoyable stay.One of the highlights of our trip was trying Val's own brand of wine. It was fantastic, and the perfect complement to the cozy hot tub during cold evenings.Overall, we cannot recommend Val's Airbnb enough. Cynthia M: husband and I stayed here for our wedding night that just passed, and it was such a marvelous experience. The room was large and cozy -- quiet but homey, as was the home in general. Breakfast was simple, but still quite nice, and I appreciated all the hot drinks available and the large campfire type mugs!Most of all, I appreciated all the accomodations made for me during my stay. I was accomodated with early check-in which enabled me to get ready for my wedding in my room. I was even offered snacks and wine while getting ready, which I thought was a kind

Armstrong's Point in Winnipeg is a heritage home district with a history stretching back 125 years. It is a river peninsula consisting of three streets: West Gate, Middle Gate and East Gate. The Assiniboine River wraps around East Gate and West Gate. This fully treed community is beautiful in every season of the year. One can enjoy the full bloom of summer with the warm sun filtering through the green canopy of 100 year old elm trees, through to the breath-taking scenery of hoar frost winter white tree lined streets.
The Columns is a heritage mansion, built in 1906 on treed river side property on East Gate. At the base of the garden, there is a bicycle/walking path that leads to the popular Forks area in downtown Winnipeg.
The house has been renovated by the current owners. Today, 5 East Gate contains luxurious guest rooms with en suite bathrooms, 4 outside decks, 2 enclosed porches, a panelled living room and dining room separated by bevelled glass sliding doors, a library, and laundry facilities.
Beautiful original quarter cut oak paneling graces the major walls of the main and second floor complimented by gleaming oak floors. The foyer boasts 12 foot oak pillars. Down-filled living room furniture and silk carpets invite guests to a cozy evening by the fire. The dining room is gracious dining at its best. Breakfast is served in the dining room during the winter months. In the summer, breakfast can be had on the river view deck or in the outside dining room.
The Master Suite has 1000 sq ft of private space and includes a private patio - perfect for special occasions and honeymoons.
The Columns had the privilege of being chosen as a location in the following two movies made for TV.

The rooms are always clean and well maintained despite the age of the house, the amenities are excellent, and the overall ambiance of the old house is rich and inviting. The breakfasts are top-notch quality every time - my wife works for a gourmet food store so our standards are pretty high, and we have never been disappointed. Visiting with the owners is always enjoyable as well. Every stay has been memorable, and we can't wait to come again.

Michael Bishara: Wonderful bed and breakfast with even lovelier hosts! Great place to feel welcome, feel cozy, as if you're at home away from home. The estate is beautiful with a big backyard facing the river. Morning breakfast is delicious and very filling too! Within walking distance to many restaurants too. If you like morning hikes, there's a trail by the backyard. Would definitely come back!
ehbuller: had its own small balcony where we could relax.The price is similar to a downtown hotel but the atmosphere is much more relaxing.Our room did not ventilate well so it was stuffy in the heat. The only thing stopping it from a full 5 stars.I highly recommend The Columns whenever you are in Winnipeg.

K. D.: My family stayed at the gorgeous place for a wedding weekend at Whitetail Meadows across the road. The B and B was clean, inviting and well stocked with breakfast items. The large loft upstairs had plenty of room for 4 people, with comfortable beds. The downstairs had a pull out couch that was very comfortable. There is a kitchen area, and large sitting area. The bathroom was spacious and it made for the perfect place for our groomsmen to get ready for the wedding! Even for a peaceful weekend away this would be the spot. We had a wonderful time and we would definitely highly recommend this B and B!!!
Tamara Stokes: We had a lovely girls weekend at the Little Red Barn, what a gem this place was!! Perfect location that felt like we were really getting away, and only 20 mins from Winnipeg nestled into the trees.When we arrived we found so many delicious options for our breakfasts - Eggs bacon, English muffins, fruit, waffles and whipped cream. There were gresh muffins and quiches too that were still warm! Cream for our coffee, butter, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and oatmeal too. The attention to each small detail is what makes it so lovely. It’s evident that our host Lois was very caring about our stay! It was so quaint and perfect!We were even able to get snowshoes, and they built a beautiful roaring fire for us outside with chairs and blankets.We will be making this our go to for girls weekends for winter each year now, I wait to go back!

Janice Laser: Red Barn Bed and BreakfastWhat a lovely B&B. We stayed here on the Labor Day weekend 2021 coming in for a visit to a friend’s wedding. The grounds were beautifully kept - very picturesque. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The nice thing was we stayed in a separate building which had a large living room area, kitchen and an upstairs bedroom. We made an omelet with eggs from their own chicken coop and other homemade goodies were supplied. Lois and Brad were the most friendly of hosts. We loved seeing the old model cars Brad had on site. We would LOVE to go back. We highly recommend it!!!All in all a wonderful peaceful stay.
Paul Magel: This place is magical! What a hidden treasure! We had an absolutely wonderful time staying there. The owners provided fresh eggs from the chickens on the farm, freshly picked raspberries ...endless amounts of breakfast foods and snacks and delicious coffee & drinks! The converted barn into a lovely little one bedroom house is decorated so beautifully and everything is immaculate. We especially loved all the personal touches in amenities that they included in our stay. I can’t recommend this place enough!
