Starting with the Fall 2023 intake, the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program schedule will see students studying on-campus for in-person learning four days a week, and studying remotely (on-line) on Friday. The schedule will look like this:


Students can take our English for Academic Purposes Program completely online if they are studying from overseas. See below for specific details.

Offered during the day (Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Winnipeg time)

Hybrid delivery (Monday to Thursday in-person/on campus and Friday remote/online delivery)

Students studying from overseas can take the course fully online. All students, whether studying hybrid, or totally online are in the same class.

Level 4 is offered in two different sections – hybrid (in-person/on campus and online/remote) delivery (see above) and

Level 4 Blended (synchronous/asynchronous) is totally online/remote (Monday to Thursday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.) With the class being composed entirely of students studying from overseas.

ELI also provides an on-line placement test (Oxford) for students who do not have a previous language proficiency test score to determine what level they will begin at.

Upon completion of Level 4 students are eligible for MITT Category A programs

Upon completion of Level 5 students are eligible for MITT Category B programs

Membership is limited to programs from the public and private sectors that meet the rigorous standards of the association. This program helps International Students reach their language proficiency needs for college admission as well as everyday life in an English environment. Program highlights include:

Hybrid delivery (three days in-person, on campus and two days remote (on-line delivery)

Textbooks distributed in class - no need to go to the bookstore!

Culturally diverse, small class sizes with students from around the world.

Each EAP level is made of up of two six-week modules (A&B). Students can begin with either the A or B module as long as they complete both, with an 80% average.

Levels 1 - 4: With successful completion of EAP Level 4, the English proficiency requirement for admission into MITT Category A programs is met.

Level 5: With successful completion of this program, the English proficiency requirement for admission into MITT Category B programs is met.

Seats are limited and priority is given to students who require successful completion of Level 5 for admission into an MITT post-secondary program. Typically, 30 days prior to the start date of an intake additional seats may be opened.
